Bang Pa-In Palace
According to history, it is said that when King Ekathotsarot was still the Maha Uparat, while he was traveling by water, his royal barge was blown over by a big storm and capsized. King Ekathotsarot swam up to “Ko Ban Len” and while staying with the villagers, he had a local woman named “In” as his concubine. This is why the villagers called this island “Ko Bang Pa-in”.
And of course, one thing that we should not miss when visiting Bang Pa-in Palace is paying homage to the Monument of Queen Ruea Lom, a marble monument that King Rama V graciously ordered to be built to commemorate Queen Sunandha Kumarirat, his beloved consort, and her daughter, Princess Kannabhorn Bejrarat.
In addition, there are also the Hem Monthien Devaraj Hall, the Saphakan Ratchaprayoon Hall, the Aisawan Thipha-asan Hall, and the Varophat Phiman Hall. Uthayan Phumisathien Throne Hall, Witthayu Thasana Hall, Wehat Chamrun Throne Hall, Inner Palace, etc. Let me tell you that each place is very beautiful and worth visiting.
