Bang Sapha
Bang Saphan gold ore source, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, due to the purity of this gold itself, has made the reputation of Bang Saphan gold known as the best quality gold in Thailand. Some say it is the best in the world due to its natural purity, which does not require smelting, is bright yellow, and is soft. When tested through a computer system, the purity of the gold will be seen as high as 99.99 percent. Bang Saphan gold is like the traces of a living legend since the year 2289. There is historical evidence confirming that during the reign of King Borommakot, the ruler of Kui, he received 3 tamlung of gold that he had panned in the area and presented it to King Borommakot. After that, he conscripted 2,000 people to pan for gold at Bang Saphan for more than a year and obtained 90 chang of gold, weighing 54 kilograms or 3,600 baht. All of the panned gold was used to cover the top of the pavilion at the footprint of the Lord Buddha in Saraburi. Unfortunately, when the capital was lost, Sri Ayutthaya 2 (B.E. 2310) The top of this pavilion was burned by Chinese bandits and all the gold was melted down.
The legend of Bang Saphan gold has spread through many Thai literary works. Some legends, such as the legend of the lightning-reviving sword, Khun Phaen's personal weapon, also include Bang Saphan gold. As in the poem that describes it:
"Take the wood that stops all medicines and make a sheath. Mix it with lacquer powder to make the skin bright.
The sheath covering the tip of the tree is a simulated pattern. It is made of one baht of gold from Bang Saphan."
We will see that these things are not only valuable assets of our country Thailand that have been around for a long time. Bang Saphan gold has also supported the lives of many people for hundreds of years. Even today, there are still villagers who are free from their regular jobs who come to pan for this gold without fail.
