All Moments About Bali
I rarely use the word "stunning" to describe an ancient city.
After exploring all over Jiangnan, I discovered a hidden gem of an ancient city, a pearl in the vast ocean. "Stunning" is the only word that comes close to describing it: the tidal city of Yan Guan.
✅ Emperor Qianlong visited Jiangnan six times, four of which were to Yan Guan.
✅ Witness the must-see Qiantang River tidal bore.
✅ Explore century-old houses + Jiangnan gardens.
✅ Only a 40-minute drive from Hangzhou.
-
🚶Route
Yan Guan Tide Wall 👉🏻 Tide-watching Scenic Park 👉🏻 Gongchen Gate 👉🏻 North Street 👉🏻 Imperial Wharf 👉🏻 Chen Gelao's Residence 👉🏻 Confucius Temple and School 👉🏻 Sea God Temple 👉🏻 Jin Yong Academy 👉🏻 Yan Guan Music House Museum
✔️ Emperor Qianlong's four visits to Yan Guan were all in March. Follow in his footsteps on a spring tour, and experience the unique charm of Jiangnan.
.
✅Must-see attractions
1⃣️ Yan Guan Tide Wall
Located right at the entrance of the scenic area, the tidewater cascades down the wall accompanied by music. It's truly stunning! Open every hour, for 15 minutes.
-
2⃣️ Tide-watching Scenic Park
Witness the spectacular Qiantang River tidal bore, a wonder of the world, just like in your Chinese textbook. See with your own eyes the awe-inspiring sight described by Su Shi as "magnificent beyond compare," and marvel at the mysteries of nature.
-
3⃣️ Gongchen Gate
The 600-year-old Yuan Dynasty city wall bears the marks of time. The sight of the *wupeng* boats passing through is picturesque.
-
4⃣️ Intoxicating Jiangnan Afternoon Tea Cruise
Embark from Changmu Bridge Wharf, and enjoy afternoon tea while admiring the beautiful scenery of the ancient city. This is the perfect way to appreciate the Jiangnan spring.
-
5⃣️ Confucius Temple and School & Sea God Temple
The red walls, reminiscent of the Forbidden City, are perfect for photos. Emperor Qianlong would also come here to pray during his southern tours.
-
6️⃣ Yan Guan Music House Museum
If you're interested in music, this is a must-visit. Immerse yourself in the creative stories of musicians.
-
7️⃣ Chen Gelao's Residence
Magnolia flowers are in bloom in this ancient house with its blue bricks and black tiles. Its prominent history and familiar stories are still talked about today.
-
8️⃣ Qianlong Hot Pot Feast
After a day of exploring, treat yourself to a grand meal. Recreate the scene of Emperor Qianlong enjoying hot pot during his southern tours, and savor the unforgettable experience.
🏨 Accommodation
I recommend staying a night in the scenic area. In the evening, with fewer tourists, you can stroll through the ancient city and enjoy the misty Jiangnan scenery in peace. I stayed at the Xuande Gate Hotel, a century-old house converted from Zhu Xi's former residence. With its white walls and black tiles, every step reveals a different view. It's like living in a painting, and a great place for taking photos.

Hidden Gem Villa Resort in Ubud, Bali | Sanna Ubud
🏨Sanna Ubud A Pramana Experience
📍Located about a 15-minute drive from Ubud Center, the hotel is surrounded by lush jungle and rice terraces, offering a soothing green escape.💚💚
Highly recommended! The overall service and quality are excellent, and the room rates and in-house expenses are reasonable. Each room is a private villa with its own pool.
The hotel itself is incredibly photogenic; you can capture tons of beautiful pictures without even leaving the property.
Every room has a private pool, perfectly complementing the jungle landscape. The hotel is beautifully decorated with greenery, both in the common areas and within the rooms.
Their public pool is also a highlight, with a stunning design. However, the deepest part reaches 2.1 meters, so if you're not a swimmer, it's best to avoid the public pool and stick to your private one.~
The location is a bit far from Ubud Center, about a 20-minute Grab ride for under 100K.
Don't miss the spa experience!🧖🏻♀️ The spa area is the most impressive part of the hotel. Be sure to visit during the day to fully appreciate the surrounding scenery.🧏🏻♀️

*【Bali Apple Wallpaper Secret Realm Strategy|Penida Island Elf Cliff Fall Complete Guide】**
#2月好地方2025
**Must-visit attraction: Elf Falls (Apple official wallpaper location)**
• Reasons to check in: A classic wallpaper for Apple phones, naturally formed rugged cliffs + emerald sea water, the light and shadow at sunset are the most stunning
• Location: West of Penida Island (need to take a boat, the boat ride takes about 45 minutes)
**【Pre-trip preparation|Transportation & ferry ticket guide】**
1. **Ferry Ticket Booking**
- Recommended platform: Trip.com (Traditional Chinese version), round-trip ticket price is about NT$240 (48 ¥ equivalent to about Taiwan dollars)
- Boarding terminal: Sanur Harbour (40 minutes drive from Denpasar Airport to the terminal)
- Note: The ferry may be delayed, it is recommended to arrive at the pier 1 hour in advance
2. **Motorcycle rental (island transportation)**
- Recommendation: If you plan to visit multiple attractions (such as Broken Beach and Fairy Beach), renting a motorcycle is the most convenient
- Price reference: NT$800 (80k Indonesian rupiah) per day, no ID required, some stores charge a 3% credit card fee
- Road condition reminder: Most of the roads are flat, but the mountain roads in the scenic area are rugged and full of potholes. New drivers are advised to drive slowly; there are no street lights on the mountain roads in the evening, so it is recommended to return before sunset
---
**【Elf Cliff Hiking Guide|Safety & Photography Tips】**
1. **Difficulty of descending the cliff**
- The one-way trip takes about 30 minutes. You need to hold onto the iron chain on the steep stone steps, which consumes a lot of energy (it is recommended to wear non-slip shoes)
- The return trip is more tiring, so allow 1 hour for the round trip
2. Hidden risks
- The trails are slippery (even more slippery after rain), so it is recommended to avoid bad weather
- Wild monkeys are out! Do not expose valuables and make sure to fasten the zipper of your backpack
3. Photograph during the golden hour
- 1 hour before sunset (around 17:00): The light is soft and the seawater is gradually changing to blue-green
- Cloudy alternative: Use cliff textures to shoot dark photos (refer to Apple wallpaper cloudy tones)
4. **Additional check-in points**
- **Broken Beach**: 1 minute walk to the beach, with a natural arch bridge and sea views
- **Angel's Pool**: A pool formed by the tides. Be careful when taking photos
---
**【Accommodation Recommendation|Lazy Package】**
• Stay at a cliffside hotel: no need to travel, exclusive view of the sunset (but the price is higher)
• Economic plan: Stay near the pier and charter a car for round trip the next day (saving the risk of motorcycles)
**【Postscript|Reflections on the Solitary Journey】**
"Life should not decay in silence, but burn in passion."
——Netizen @小女人独去巴里
A man with a backpack stepped onto a dangerous cliff, a monkey stole the spotlight, and shivered on the stone steps...
But when I saw the wallpaper come true with my own eyes, all the embarrassment became a medal.

Kayon Jungle Resort
I came to The Kayon Jungle Resort in Indonesia.
This is one of the recommended accommodations in Ubud.
This is a hotel on a cliff, with a pool on the hill and a beautiful view from there.
There is a buffet in the morning and a free yoga course. Yoga is great because you can exercise while looking at the natural scenery from the hill.

A new experience! Ngurah Rai International Airport is more convenient and more stylish
Ngurah Rai International Airport gives me a brand new feeling! The overall equipment is much newer than before. Not only is the traffic flow clearer, but the facilities are also more convenient.
What surprised me most was that foreigners can now use automatic customs clearance, which greatly saves queuing time and makes entry and exit more efficient.
Overall, the environment and services at Ngurah Rai Airport have been significantly improved, and you can feel the comfort and convenience of Bali! ✨

Bali Hotel's unique religious elements
#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
In Bali, whether in hotels, restaurants, or even on the roadside, you can see locals burning incense and praying devoutly. This is an everyday custom, and can be seen in almost every corner, whether it is merchants praying for prosperous business or families worshipping gods and ancestors.
In particular, the small offerings offered are usually small boxes woven from coconut leaves, filled with flowers, rice grains and snacks, and a stick of incense. This is not only a way of thanking the gods, but also a symbol of praying for peace and good luck. Walking down the streets of Bali, you’ll often find these offerings on the ground, and even smell their subtle aroma, a reminder of the spirituality and cultural beauty of the island.

WAHAHA Pork Ribs Bali Delicious Pork Ribs
The environment of this restaurant is very comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxed. It makes people feel relaxed and happy as soon as they enter. It is suitable for dining with friends or family.
The restaurant is located in an area where tourists gather. It is very conveniently located and is a good choice for tourists. However, the pasta was a bit salty and heavy, and the portion was relatively small, which made it less satisfying.
Overall, this restaurant is suitable for casual dining, but if the food is the main consideration, it may not be recommended, especially for customers who want to enjoy larger portions or more delicate flavors.

Mixue Ice Cream – A summertime savior on GS Plaza Road
On the way to GWK Garuda Wisnu Kencana, the slope is quite steep, and coupled with Bali's tropical climate, you will sweat profusely after walking for a while. In this situation, Mixue Ice Cream is like an oasis in the desert, so I immediately decided to go in and buy some ice cream to enjoy a moment of coolness.
Mixue's ice cream has a dense texture, sweet but not greasy, and paired with a cool drink, it instantly quenches thirst and cools down, making people feel extremely happy. Affordable prices and a wide range of choices
If you are heading to GWK, you may want to find a Mixue to rest and replenish your energy before setting off again. This is definitely the most affordable and satisfying way to cool off!

Rococo Warung Gallery in Bali: A Perfect Blend of Art and Cuisine
Rococo Warung Gallery is a creative culinary haven in the Ubud area of Bali, offering a menu that blends Indonesian and Western dishes. I opted for pasta as I was getting a bit tired of Indonesian food. Each dish here is presented with great care, and they are all delicious and fresh.
The restaurant's design is filled with an artistic atmosphere, with works by local artists hanging on the walls. The open seating area and lush greenery create a relaxed ambiance, making it ideal for couples and family gatherings.
Rococo Warung's pasta tastes great and the unique artistic vibe allows you to enjoy the beautiful decor, making it perfect for taking photos!

Bukit Kirana Villas Bali
#2月好地方2025
This is my favorite place to live in Bali. The location is perfect. So quiet yet just a short drive to everything you need. The villa is great and has everything you need. The staff were the best, always so friendly and helpful with any needs we had. I miss Bukit Kirana so much! I recommend it to everyone who comes to Bali❤️
Bali's tourism industry began to develop on a large scale after the opening of Ngurah Rai International Airport in 1969, and Sanu and Kuta became tourist destinations. In the 1980s, high-end resorts began to be developed in Nusa Dua. In the 1990s, the development trend began to expand to the north and south of Kuta, ranging from Seminyak, Legian, Jimbaran to the coastal area, forming a vast tourist area. The northern part of Seminyak is where the famous Tanah Lot Temple is located. After the bombings in Sanur and Kuta, authorities took proactive steps to improve public security, removing some street vendors.
The southern coast of Bali has excellent waves, and many surfers from all over the world have visited here, making it a surfing destination. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of people making a living from the surfing industry, including surf shops and surfing instructors, and even the number of professional surfers sponsored by surfing companies has increased.

WATERBOM BALI.
Totally and utterly wonderful. Most people book online before arrival but you can buy an entry ticket at the gate. Plan on spending about $100 per person as entry is $50 , locker, towel hire, food, surfing, photos are all extra if you want them.
Great showers in the main bathroom. There are lots of staff taking photos and they give you a wrist band to track it. Then on the way out you can buy if you like. $40 for all digital pics. They say not to wear swimmers with any metal on them, tags, little hole ring things in your pockets to let the water out. They were not too strict but maybe just check.

CAFÉ WITH MODERN TOUCH
Being a first-timer visitor to Bali, I was blown away by the incredible food scene, and the place is definitely a must-try.
The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance with lush greenery, live music, and comfortable seating.
The menu was enticing, and everything we ordered was delicious and generous in serving size. Although not on the cheaper side of Bali food prices, the resto still offered value for my money, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall experience.
Beyond the food, the staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience enjoyable.

THE EXPRESSIVE KECAK DANCE IN BALI.
Balinese dance (Indonesian: tarian Bali; Balinese: ᬇᬕᭂᬮᬦ᭄ᬩᬮᬶ (igélan Bali)) is an ancient dance tradition that is part of the religious and artistic expression among the Balinese people of Bali island, Indonesia. Balinese dance is dynamic, angular, and intensely expressive.
Balinese dancers express the stories of dance-drama through bodily gestures including gestures of fingers, hands, head, and eyes.
There is a great richness of dance forms and styles in Bali; and particularly notable are those ritualistic dance dramas which involve Rangda, the witch, and the great beast Barong.
Most of the dances in Bali are connected to Hindu or traditional folk rituals, such as the Sanghyang Dedari sacred dance that invokes benevolent hyang spirits, believed to possess the dancers in a trance state during the performance.
Other Balinese dances are not linked to religious rituals and are created for certain occasions or purposes, such as the Baris or Pendet welcoming dances and Joged dance, which is a social dance for entertainment.

A BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL BEACH.
Jerman Beach (or Pantai Jerman) and often miswritten as German Beach in English is one of Bali’s less visited beaches.
It’s actually a very nice beach area, but it’s super close to the airport which can make relaxing on Jerman Beach a little challenging at times.
Here’s everything you need to know about Jerman Beach and the nearby attractions, to help you decide if you want to visit the area.
Jerman Beach is right next to the North Side of the Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar Airport and Bali’s only airport).
You can walk there easily from the airport and we recommend that you visit the beach before you leave Bali, rather than making a special trip to see it.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE RIDING CLASSIC CARS IN BALI.
A unique opportunity and experience to discover incredible places in Ubud with classic cars (VolksWagen).
Discovering few touris hotspot places in one day with a funny driver such as Temple, Waterfall, Rice terrace, Monkey forest and famous the Bali's Swing.
You would have time to stop along the way at the most popular landmarks in order to take stunning photos as memories.
The classic convertible car tour was a perfect option for couples or honeymooners who would definitely be impressed during the honeymoon or holiday and spending precious time together riding the cars.
They have numbers of vintage cars and they can arrange rental for a small or big group.
So don’t miss out on this unique experience, only in Bali.

I really don’t recommend sisters to go to Bali blindly! ! .
🌴Sisters who want to go to Bali to enjoy the sunshine and beaches, pay attention! Although Bali is beautiful, you must plan well before traveling to avoid blind impulse! 🚫
🚗 Transportation planning: When you arrive in Bali, you must not be careless about transportation! Don’t wait until you land at the airport to rent a car. Not only will the price double, but you may also encounter illegal taxis that rip you off. It is recommended to book a regular car rental service online in advance, or choose to charter a car for free travel, which is safer and more worry-free.
🏨 Accommodation options: Don’t blindly follow the Internet celebrity hotels for accommodation. Although they are beautiful, they are really expensive! If your budget is limited, a cost-effective homestay is a better choice. Not only can you save money, but you can also experience the local life atmosphere.
🍽️Food recommendation: When you arrive in Bali, you must try the local specialties - dirty duck meal and roast pork rice! It is recommended to go to small shops frequented by locals, which are not only authentic in taste but also affordable. Don't forget to try the seafood barbecue, it's fresh and delicious!
The attractions should be carefully selected, and the small ones can also be exciting! Of course you have to visit popular attractions like the Tanah Lot Temple and the Tirta Empul Temple, but don’t forget to explore lesser-known attractions like the Kintamani Volcano, where there are fewer people and more beautiful scenery, making for better photo opportunities!
💖Bali is a charming place. As long as you prepare in advance and arrange transportation, accommodation and itinerary reasonably, you can have fun and save money!
