Baker Street is a street in the Marylebone district of Westminster, West London, England, named "Baker" in honor of the builder, William Baker. Baker Street is not long, it is a section of the A41 main road, from Regent's Park in the south to Wigmore Street in the north (Wigmore St). Walking along Baker Street, you can find the famous Sherlock Holmes Museum along the way, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and Regent's Park not far away, if you are interested, you can also visit together. The Sherlock Holmes Museum makes Baker Street famous because the residence of Conan Doyle's detective Sherlock Holmes is set at "221B" Baker Street. Although there is no "221B" on Baker Street, and no detective lives here, the Sherlock Holmes "home" museum came into being in 1990 to satisfy the wishes of detective fans. Take the London Underground to Baker Street (Baker Street) station. The entire tile wall of the station is covered with a silhouette of Sherlock Holmes wearing a round hat and smoking a pipe. When you leave the subway station, there is a statue of Sherlock Holmes. Madame Tussauds In addition, Madame Tussauds was built on Baker Street in 1835 and has now moved to nearby Marylebone Road. The British Special Operations Committee (SpecialOperationsExecutive, SOE) established during the second station was headquartered at 64 Baker Street.

An afternoon at the museum
If you have a short afternoon to while away, I do recommend visiting the original landmark where the art of making wax figurines came to be. At Madame Tussauds London, they seem to add in some of the latest celebrities to come onto the scene, as well as keeping the classics around too.
Prices for a ticket start from about 34 pounds and may be more expensive depending on which other attractions you want to bundle it with. Currently in October, they have a chamber of horrors set up in view of the Halloween season.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

London | Must try tasty Chinese food at Baker Street
Bright Courtyard Club
📍43-45 Baker St, London W1U 8EW
Yesterday, I dined at Bright Courtyard Club with friends and had the sautéed shredded eel in hot oil! Chinese cuisine in London has really improved so much! I’ve been coming to this place since my student days, for seven years now, and I still love it!
Pan-Fried Pork Buns
Similar to the style of some Shanghai restaurants, with a soft and tender dough outside and juicy, well-packed meat inside. Topped with a bit of green onion, it’s packed with flavor!
Bright Courtyard Beef Stir-Fry
With a hint of chili, it’s very appetizing, and the beef is cut to the perfect thickness and tenderness—a great dish with rice!
Braised Chicken and Chestnut Pot
This one is my favorite. The chestnuts are so tender and have absorbed all the rich flavors of the chicken, making each bite super fragrant. The chicken is also deeply flavorful, and the portion is very generous!

The Sherlock Holmes statue, an artistic masterpiece standing on the bustling streets of London, is not only a tribute to this fictional detective but also a symbol of wisdom and courage in the hearts of many.

Tickets are available at the nearby museum, costing £16 per person. The museum also has many souvenirs.
In the living room on the second floor, staff will explain interesting stories about Holmes and some classic crimes in London. However, when I asked who Jack the Ripper was, they said they didn't know... I was left confused.
There are many lifelike sculptures inside, recreating classic scenes from the stories. I could hardly tell the real from the fake.

In 2023, I visited Baker Street tube station in London, immersing myself in its historic charm. The iconic Sherlock Holmes silhouette welcomed me as I descended into the bustling underground hub. Navigating through the distinct tiles and Victorian architecture, I felt a blend of nostalgia and modernity. 🕵️♂️🚇 The platform's buzz echoed with the spirit of the city. #LondonLife #BakerStreetChronicles. As I reminisce about this cultural gem, my next adventure beckons. In 2024, I want to visit Canada, embracing the vast landscapes and diverse culture that await. 🍁 #Wanderlust #NextStopCanada
