Transportation Guide
📍 Park Name: Guangzhou Baiyun Lake Park (Free Admission)
🚗 Self-driving: The north gate is a good choice, and parking is free on both sides of the road (but you will have to take the risk of being ticketed, which depends on your luck). The parking lot is also very cheap, only CNY 15 per time. Parking at the east gate is relatively complicated. On weekdays, it costs CNY 4 per hour, and CNY 30 per day; on weekends and holidays, it costs CNY 8 per hour, and CNY 40 per day. Parking on both sides of the south gate is inconvenient, and there are many electric vehicles.
🚇 Subway and Bus: If you choose public transportation, the east gate and south gate are more convenient, while the north gate is relatively far away.
Park Areas and Tour Routes
Baiyun Lake Park is divided into East Lake and West Lake. There are fewer people in West Lake, and the scenery and area are relatively small, so most people take photos and play with their children in East Lake.
There are three gates for normal entry and exit in East Lake: the north gate, east gate, and south gate. In terms of the number of visitors, the east gate > south gate > north gate.
Recommended tour route: North Gate - South Gate - East Gate - North Gate. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to walk, stop, and play along the way.
Starting from the north gate, you will pass the pier, where there are two canopies. The smaller one is by the lake, where we had lunch. You will also see a huge canopy with a gravel floor. There are fewer people on the road from the north gate to the south gate, but the scenery is beautiful. Photos 13 and 14 were taken here!
When you arrive at the south gate, there will be more people. The small train is basically full, and the ticket price is CNY 15 per person. The route is roughly around East Lake. The distance from the south gate to the east gate is very short, and there are many vendors selling various things at the south gate. You can also see the Shijing River Pump Station after entering the south gate. If you order takeout, the east gate and south gate are more convenient.
Finally, you will arrive at the east gate, where there are many people! There are campsites and amusement parks, and the lawn is the largest. The mountain top square offers a panoramic view of East Lake, and there are beautiful Gesang flowers for you to take photos with. You can also take photos in the campsite.
Tips
The road by the lake is very sunny, so remember to take sun protection measures, such as wearing a sun hat and applying sunscreen.
The park is large, and it is tiring to walk around. If you are short on time, it is recommended to play near one of the gates.
Electric vehicles occasionally enter the park through the north gate, so parents should pay extra attention to their children's safety.
The most beautiful scenery is to the west of the south gate (i.e., to the left towards the north gate). It is a great place to take photos, and there are also bald cypress trees!
I spent most of the day visiting East Lake and compiled this super detailed guide. I suggest you save it first, so you won't get lost next time you visit! Come to Baiyun Lake Park and enjoy a wonderful time with your family!
