Historic buildings
The locals around the White Rice Urn Fort were formerly known as "Dutch Town". Because of the fortress and other buildings built during the Dutch occupation period, the White Rice Urn Fort was also called "Netherlands City Fort"; On the 70-meter high ground, there are hills on both sides of the high ground, forming a barrier, which is a defensive line on the west bank of the port. In addition, because the main task of the White Rice Urn Fort is to directly destroy enemy ships outside the port with firepower, the huge attack artillery fire can be exerted in a row in a row, thereby achieving the purpose of "sea-controlling fort". The white rice urn fort is in the shape of a long plane. The four gun mounts in the cannon panel area, each of which is about 15 meters in diameter, are made of solid iron cement. The ammunition depot, and the command post and observation station are located on the hills on the left and right sides, with a wide field of vision, overlooking the panoramic view of the Keelung Port; it is a pity that there are no cannons at the White Rice Urn Fortress, only four cannons can be seen here. There are remnants of the seat and the sub-wall, and the command post on the left has been rebuilt, but from the stone steps next to the pavilion to the observation platform on the right, the top is overgrown with trees, and the blue sea view can be seen in the distance, the scenery is quite fresh.
