Visit the Great Wall of China, which I had only seen in pictures
When you think of China, the first thing that comes to mind is the Great Wall of China.
The Great Wall of China is so big that there are different places you can go to, and the place I went to was Badaling Great Wall.
The entrance fee was 40 yuan, which is 7,400 won at the current exchange rate (1 yuan = 185 won). You can walk, but I went there comfortably by taking the sliding car. It was especially fun when going down because it was like an amusement ride. A round-trip ticket for the sliding car is 120 yuan.
To get to Badaling Great Wall, take bus number 877 from the bus stop in front of Deshengmen Arrow Tower (德胜门箭楼) to go straight. It took about 2 and a half to 3 hours. The price was 6 yuan one way. You can also take bus number 877 back to downtown Beijing. It was not a tour bus, but a regular bus, but there was a guide who explained everything diligently, but I couldn't understand it because I don't speak Chinese.
When you get off the bus, the guide will help the passengers buy tickets. At the first ticket booth you see, you can only buy sliding car tickets, not admission tickets. You can buy admission tickets when you go up the sliding car.
On the way to ride the sliding car, there are many food such as skewers and dumplings, and souvenir shops. I bought a hairpin at the souvenir shop, and it only cost 20 yuan. I bought a regular hairpin in Japan for 1,600 yen earlier this year, so it felt very cheap. There was a bear cage, so I could see bears.
