Lijiang-Shangri-La, a self-guided tour
#Lijiang #Shangri-La #Baragezhong #Jade Dragon Snow Mountain #July #Lijiang Review #Traveling to China by myself
My first time traveling to China by myself was so difficult and fun.
Caution: Kunming and Shangri-La are quite high above sea level, so there is a chance of altitude sickness. You should study how to prepare before going.
Altitude :
Bangkok: 4 meters above sea level
Kunming: 1,800 meters above sea level
Lijiang: 2,400 meters above sea level
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: 4,680 meters above sea level
Shangri-La: 4,000 meters above sea level
Baragezong: 4,200 meters above sea level
……….
Travel plan
[Day 1]: Bangkok—> Kunming Let's adjust the altitude first. Take a walk and sleep for a night.
[Day 2]: Kunming—> Lijiang By high-speed train (3 hours) Stay in the old town of Lijiang for 2 nights. I recommend it. It's very good.
Stay at Lijiang Yue Tu Inn. The restaurant nearby is very delicious. I recommend eating Mala Tofu. It's the best in the world.
[Day 3]: Still in Lijiang. I have a little bit of altitude sickness even though I've taken some medicine. But I started to adjust.
Today, I went to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I booked a day tour with the hotel owner (the owner of this hotel can speak English).
-The tour price will be around 600-700 yuan, depending on the period you go.
-Warning: The tour price includes 2 oxygen cans and a long winter coat to borrow. You don't have to buy more oxygen. // They will take you to a shop, which is very expensive. You don't have to buy it. If you want to buy it, you can buy it in the city for about 10 yuan.
-The tour includes the Impression Lijian show. The show is beautiful. The songs are great, but it's very hot. You don't have to watch it all the way through.
-The tour includes lunch, but it's not delicious!!!!!
-Jade water is free at Bang Bo. If you want to watch it all, it costs 35 yuan more.
-I recommend adding the driver's WeChat because most of them can't speak English. WeChat has a translation function, so it's easier to communicate.
- Each area will send a QR code via WeChat with instructions on how to walk to each point. The QR code must be used with a passport.
**Try to find someone in the same tour group to go with you. It will be more convenient (most of them are Chinese, but they are very cute. If you can speak a little Chinese, it will be more convenient.)
[Day 4]: Lijiang—> Shangri-La, rent a car with a driver to pick you up at the hotel. Stop by to visit places along the way.
- Tiger Leaping Gorge - Strong water pressure, beautiful
- The Blue Mountains on the Moon Hotel: Beautiful room, great view, most convenient to walk around the city on earth. The room is a bit expensive, but worth it. There is an oxygen generator in the room, no need to worry!
- At night, walk around the city. It is beautiful! Like a Chinese movie
[Day 5]: Let's rent a dress to visit the temple. The rental fee is 80 yuan, including makeup.
- Today's highlight will be at Songzanlin Temple, Lama sect. It is worth going!!!
- Napahai Lake
- End with Dafo Temple, Golden Magic Circle Which is in the old city of Shang where we stayed.
[Day 6]: A little bit of a mistake in planning, Baragezong came to stay here today, causing us to go back and forth. I do not recommend this route.
- Baragezong is a very large park. There are buses to take you to various tourist spots inside. If you have time, you should stay in Baragezong for 1 night because it is very big.
- Head straight back to Lijiang.
[Day 7]: Walk around the old city a bit, then fly back home to Bangkok.
****Recommendations:
- It is a bit difficult to communicate. If you have someone who can speak Chinese, it will be much more convenient.
- You can pay in cash, but there is not much change.
- If you use SCB Planet linked to Alipay, you should try it out first. It is better to bring cash just in case, it is safer.
- From what I tried, Alipay can only be used to pay for QR codes in stores. If it is for transferring money to individuals, it seems that it is not possible. If anyone has any advice, please tell me. It was so bad when I went there that I could not scan to pay.
- Not everyone gets altitude sickness. I took my parents who are in their sixties and they were fine, but my late teens were fine.
-Neck pain is a sign of altitude sickness.
-Can't use FB or YouTube when connecting to Wi-Fi there, but can use roaming.
-Google Maps doesn't work.
-Apple Maps and Trip Maps work well.
-I recommend copying the name of the place in Chinese to use when searching on the map. If you search in English, you won't find it.
That's all, it's so long 😅Hello.
