Azheke is an ancient village where all the villagers live. What we see is their daily life. As soon as we entered the village, there were two children playing with my son. Azheke Village is a Hani village that still retains the style from before 1960, with a history of over 210 years and more than 60 households. ☆ In Hani language, Azheke means a place where bamboo grows in patches and forests, often shrouded in a sea of clouds. The characteristic buildings are mushroom houses, all without doors! ☆ The drinking water in Azheke has always been mountain spring water. The spring water is channeled into large pools, and multiple water outlets are installed at the bottom of each large pool, locally referred to as divine water (see Figures 4 and 16).

This homestay is not located in the core scenic area of Yuanyang Terraces, Duoyishu, avoiding the bustling crowds. Instead, it is adjacent to the ancient village of Azheke, boasting a vast expanse of stunning terraces. After driving for two hours and 20 minutes from Jianshui, we arrived at a village with a history of 169 years - Azheke. It is located in Yuanyang County of the Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
