Snorkeling in the Maldives | You either go once or countless times
| You either go once or countless times. Can't wait for the honeymoon, so I went snorkeling with my sisters at Ayada Maldives! It was an amazing experience, so I put together a snorkeling guide to share with those who want to go👇
🏝️[Island Information]
Ayada Maldives is truly beautiful, but it's a bit far. From Male Airport, you need to take a domestic flight for over an hour, then a speedboat for 20 minutes to an hour (the route may change, so confirm before you go). But apart from the journey, everything else is great👍 It's very cost-effective, close to the equator, with little rain, making it perfect for a vacation.
🏠[Room and Snorkeling Spot Selection]
We chose a beach villa, which was nice, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. For water villas, I highly recommend trying to get rooms 515-520, as they are said to be the best snorkeling spots, with amazing water quality and stunning photos! You can start your snorkeling journey right from the water villa🌊
🍱[Dining on the Island]
The three meals are usually fixed at two buffet restaurants, and you might get tired of Western food. On the last day, we paid extra for a beach BBQ with unlimited lobster, and we saw a beautiful sunset, which was totally worth it!
💡[Snorkeling Guide]
1️⃣Snorkeling at Sea: Snorkeling at sea requires an extra fee. My travel companions said the underwater scenery was amazing, with lots of colorful fish, offering a more diverse view than snorkeling directly from the water villa.
2️⃣Snorkeling Tips: Go snorkeling after noon, as the water is too shallow in the morning, and the coral wall blocks the way to the trench. It's a bit farther from the beach villa to the trench, and the suction at the trench is stronger than near the water villa, so stay at least 2 meters away from the trench. The trench near the water villa is calm, and you can swim directly above it to enjoy the underwater scenery. Sharks and turtles can be found in both the lagoon and the trench. If you don't want to snorkel, you can see lots of baby sharks near the Ocean Breeze restaurant.
🛍️[Snorkeling Gear]
Diving gloves, diving socks, long-sleeve rash guards, and snorkeling masks are essential to protect yourself. Some girls wore swimsuits and got scratched when snorkeling. Wearing contact lenses doesn't affect snorkeling👀
🌟Ayada Maldives is definitely worth a visit, with an amazing snorkeling experience and stunning environment. Go for it!
