Atami Fireworks Festival | Best Viewing Locations
Best Viewing Locations.📍Ikuta Kotaro once said: The primitive sense of exhilaration brought by fireworks washes away the fatigue and various meaningless obsessions of everyone present.
📍The fireworks festival is also a very worthwhile part of traveling in Japan. After night falls in summer, go to the seaside of Atami and enjoy a visual feast.
🎆Atami Fireworks Festival Schedule
⏰Time: 20:20-20:45
📍Location: Sunshine Beach or the Waterfront Park
🎫Tickets: No tickets or reservations required, just go directly.
🚄Transport: If departing from Tokyo on the day, it takes 45 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen, and 1.5 hours by JR, so leaving after lunch is more than enough. It's about a 15-20 minute walk downhill from Atami Station to the beach, or you can take a bus to the beach. However, if you plan to return to Tokyo on the same day, there will be a lot of people in the evening, and it will take a long time to enter Atami Station, so if possible, consider staying overnight in Atami.
📝Seating Strategy
📍The best positions are actually on the steps, you can refer to the position of the P9 coconut tree, the advantage of this spot is that there are no people behind you, so you can take photos freely without affecting others, and there is no obstruction in front. These spots are usually taken by around 3 PM, so if you want to go, make sure to get there early.
📍It's not too difficult to get a spot on the beach, you can still find space at 5 PM, and even if you grab a front row, people will continue to move forward before the show starts.
📍To reserve a seat, just spread a picnic mat on the ground, and you can use four bottles of water to hold down the corners. If you arrive in Atami early, you can also visit other places.
