The Most Beautiful City in South Australia—Adelaide Travel Guide
Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia, is unexpectedly beautiful, like a fairyland. Today, I will share with you the must-visit attractions and local delicacies in Adelaide! 💖
📍Must-visit attractions:
1. Central Market: This is the largest market in the Southern Hemisphere, where you can taste multicultural cuisine and experience the customs and culture of South Australia. It is a great place to experience local life.
2. Art Gallery of South Australia: A must-visit art destination in Adelaide. The exhibits here include works with unique Australian styles, covering landscape and historical oil paintings, allowing you to experience Australian culture through art.
3. Pink Lake (Lake Bumbunga): Located about 130 km from Adelaide city, it is a stunning and dreamy natural landscape. The dreamy pink lake water makes you feel like you are in a fairy tale world, a super romantic place. ‼[The best time to visit is on a sunny day after rain]
4. Adelaide Hills: Located in the southeast of Adelaide, only a 20-minute drive from the city center. It is the earliest place for grape cultivation and wine production, with ancient wineries and the German-style Hahndorf German Village.
5. Fleurieu Peninsula: A 1-hour drive south from Adelaide, it is a great place for diving, snorkeling, and fishing. There are also cute alpacas waiting for you to pet, and the modernist d'Arenberg Cube where you can enjoy wine and food.
6. Glenelg Beach: The most popular beach in Adelaide, where you can lie on the beach 🏖 and enjoy the warm sunlight and fresh sea breeze 🏝.
📍Must-try delicacies
🦞 Australian lobster, large and meaty, whether steamed or baked, is irresistible
🍖 Australian steak, high-quality beef, every bite is full of happiness
🍷 Adelaide's wine is classic, with over 60% of Australia's exported wine produced here, a must-try ✅
🍫 Haigh's Chocolate, one of the few manufacturers in the world that still makes chocolate by hand directly from roasted cocoa beans
📍Tips
✅The sun in Australia is strong, so pay attention to sun protection and bring sunglasses, sun hats, sunscreen, and other sun protection products
✅Some malls and supermarkets may not accept large cash payments, so it is recommended to bring a credit card or use mobile payment
✅The power socket type in Australia is different from that in China, mostly three-pin sockets, with a voltage of 220-240 volts. It is recommended to bring a plug adapter and converter
✅When encountering wild animals in the wild or nature reserves, keep a safe distance and do not feed or provoke them
‼English is the main language in Australia, and vehicles drive on the left side of the road. When crossing the road, look right first and then left, which is the opposite of China. If you want to travel by car, you can choose Trip.com's local carpool Chinese tour, with hotel pick-up and drop-off, Chinese-speaking drivers and guides throughout the journey, for an in-depth and worry-free tour.

It was a trip to Adelaide, South Australia.
When we first arrived, we were exploring the City Centre
We visited Art Gallery of South Australia, which was established in 1881, this gallery houses one of Australia’s most distinguished art collections.

We also visited Adelaide Botanic Garden which was established in 1855, the garden showcases native and exotic plants, including the Bicentennial Conservatory. Definitely worth to visit! It was so beautiful and we really enjoy working around 💯

We then visited Africola for dinner. We ordered the peri-peri chicken and the vegetarian dishes like charred broccoli 🥦 Surprisingly, all the dishes that we ordered were so delicious and we really enjoyed. Not only the food, the services and vibes were amazing as well ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We also went to the Glenelg Beach which was founded in 1836, Glenelg is Adelaide’s most popular beachside suburb with historical sites like the Glenelg Town Hall.
The view was amazing but we managed to take some good pictures.
We also visited Glenelg to Adelaide Tram Ride. It is operational since 1873, offers a scenic route between the beach and the city.
We also tried the most famous restaurant, Press* Food & Wine. We ordered lamb shoulder and the raw seafood dishes. They were all very delicious and the price was considered average for the quality and portion of food we ate 😂

The experience - The gallery is very spacious and not too crowded and peaceful. it’s a very beautiful place to visit and just walk around to look at different paintings 🖼️

Including paintings, sculptures, crafts, etc. The fixed exhibitions include the Australian Colonial History Exhibition, the Contemporary Australian Exhibition, the Aboriginal Exhibition, the Asian Exhibition, the Islamic Exhibition and the European Art Exhibition. In addition to this fixed exhibition, the exhibition hall will hold some occasional occasions. Temporary exhibition. The South Australian Museum of Art is Australia's largest art collection with national art collections, both native and world.

Four-day Adelaide car-free travel guide
Day1️⃣:Central Market—South Australia Gallery/Library/Museum—Hallet Cove 🏛️
Have breakfast at Central Market, you must try the Mussel from Si sea😋, fresh and juicy; Cumbia is also delicious, especially the Crab pasta and honey squid🍝, but these two are only available for lunch after 12 o'clock😕. Picture 3 is the coffee bean shop in the market☕️, I had a special Greek coffee, it's amazing👌, the milk foam is delicate, the coffee is rich, the taste is just right, a very special flavor😍.
After eating and drinking, go to the South Australia Gallery🖼️, library📚 and museum🏛️. The Museum is boring😴, the Gallery is surprising and stunning😯, the famous 'Jealousy of Kalk' is hidden here, as well as the installation art of artists like Yayoi Kusama and Shiho Salt Field🎨, there is a special exhibition of Japan downstairs, picture 6 is more shocking to the naked eye😲.
You can take the bus directly to Hallet Cove in the city, just search for the bus route on the map, dinner can be solved directly at the seaside restaurant, mediocre😋.
Day 2️⃣:German Village—Carrick Hill 🏰
You can reach by round trip bus, you can take the bus back to the city from the German village, and then take a taxi to Carrick Hill🚕. Have lunch at The haus🍴, this place has better taste and presentation. (The big pork knuckle actually tastes average, it will be greasy and tiring to eat later, and don't buy souvenirs in the German village❗️The prices here are very expensive, and there are no very special souvenirs.)
Carrick Hill's business hours are from 10:00 to 16:30 from Wednesday to Sunday, remember to leave enough time for the visit😉.
Day3️⃣:Victor Harbor 🌊
We chose a day trip to Victor Harbor🚌, it is recommended to directly search for Victor Harbor Day trip, and then choose a cheap one. We met a very good local lady, she will tell us a lot of Adelaide's history and fun facts along the way👍.
After arriving at Victor Harbor, it is better to buy a one-way horse carriage ticket🐴, so you can take the horse carriage to the island, and then walk back. We had seafood pizza at Nino's🍕, I personally think it tastes very good, my friend and I ate a whole pizza in one go😋.
Day4️⃣:Penfolds Winery—Pink Lake 🍷
Bought a Chinese-led day trip on 🍑, the leader sister is very nice, but Penfolds Winery is boring😴.
Pink Lake is not in season now, it's better to go in September and October👍, the penultimate picture is the pinkest one we saw in the lake, and we can't stop, the last one is the current situation of the Pink (White) Lake without filter, many Pink Lake photos on xhs are color-adjusted📸.
Overall, the four-day car-free tour of Adelaide is very worth a visit, with urban culture, gourmet sea views, historical buildings, and beautiful coastlines and natural scenery🌅.
