Traveling in the USA - Visiting the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, and the Capitol
I visited Washington D.C., the capital of the United States, during my trip to the USA. As the political center of the country, I had the opportunity to visit the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the graves of Korean War veterans at Arlington, and the Capitol.
1️⃣ The Lincoln Memorial is dedicated to the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, and is said to have been modeled after the Parthenon in Greece.
2️⃣ Right next to it stands the Washington Monument, which resembles an Egyptian obelisk and soars high into the sky.
3️⃣ There is also Arlington National Cemetery, where the graves of soldiers who fought in the Korean War are located. It is famous for the quote, "Freedom is not free."
4️⃣ Additionally, the Capitol in Washington D.C., which serves a similar function to our National Assembly, is a symbolic building that is not only expansive but also within walking distance from these locations.
5️⃣ As befits the administrative capital of the United States, Washington D.C. has a neat and clean image, and I highly recommend visiting this well-ordered city.
