Arashiyama Park is located where the Hozu River valley reaches the plains. It consists of three areas: Kameyama, Nakanoshima, and Rinkawanoji. It is a famous place for cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn. The Kameyama area is located in the hilly area southeast of Kokurayama. It is dominated by red pines, cherry trees, maple trees, and azaleas growing together under the trees. The natural beauty is impressive. The path is surrounded by the woods, and there are facilities such as a square, a rest area, an observation deck, and a children's square. The Nakanoshima area, as the name suggests, is an island formed in the Katsura River. There are many pine trees and cherry trees on the island. Especially in the flower viewing season, many tourists come here and it is very lively. In addition, you can often see fishermen leisurely on the mountainside on the opposite bank and in the beautiful nature of the Katsura River. The Rinchuan Temple area, located on the left bank of the lower reaches of the Togetsukyo Bridge, is dominated by ancient red pines, with cherry trees and maple trees interspersed among the tree-lined roads, forming an elegant landscape.
