Arakurayama Sengen Park
My wonderful visit to Arakurayama Sengen Park was a magical and beautiful experience. I enjoyed climbing the corridor leading to the top of the hill.
She was waiting for the magnificent view of Fuji, the sacred mountain. Enjoy the wonderful views of the city and the surrounding mountains. I felt calm and serene at this spiritual location, where I meditated and reflected. I enjoyed the experience of visiting in spring when the cherry blossoms add beauty to the scenery. Arakurayama Sengen Park is a great place to unwind and enjoy the magnificent views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding nature.

Cherry blossom in Arakurayama Sengen Park

Cherry 🌸 flowers in Japan.
Arakumayama Sengen Park (Yamanashi Prefecture) is famous for their view of cherry blossoms 🌸 with a backdrop of Mt Fuji and the five-storied pagoda Churyo.
The park is located halfway up Mount Niikura, with approximately 650 cherry trees. In the spring, the Sakura Matsuri (cherry tree festival) is held. The park is famous for the fall season, but I climbed 398 steps to take a picture of the clouds buried in the green trees and Mt. Fuji.
Now it's a representative view of Japan. Around noon, you might have to wait for hours in a long line to get to the observation deck.

Mount Fuji view with pagoda!
Crowded, very very crowded especially I went during the peak season of sakura in April 2023.
If you intend to take a good photo with both pagoda and Mt Fuji, you may have to queue for at least one hour (it was 3 hours for my time and I didn’t queue for it) or you reach the destination before 7am.
Further, you have to be physically fit to climb the stairs which is about 400 steps up to the top of the pagoda view. The climb takes about 10-15 mins depends on individual’s fitness.

Shrine: Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine is 三國第一山新倉富士浅間神社
A few minutes walk from Shimoyishida station (下吉田)
Then you’ll see the shrine. The view is great, Mount Fuji is just in front of your eyes. To get a better view, you can climb up the stairs, the view from top is even greater. You will not regret it. The Fuji Apple and the strawberry bought on the way back to the station is amazing! Taste sweet. Feel blessed and lucky to got the chance to explore that area, enjoyed the time there.

We walked all the way from the station to the park and were about to arrive at the park. The first thing we saw was the "Omotesando" of Sengen Shrine. Let me tell you first that the stairs here are quite steep. If you are bringing older people, be sure to reserve more space. Time climbs step by step.
After walking through Omotesando, you will see the "torii gate". Have you seen it (the highest mountain in the Three Kingdoms)? This was the title given by Emperor Heijo at that time, which means the greatest mountain range in the world. It was nominated by the emperor himself. At the same time, if the weather is good, you can see Mount Fuji through the torii (looking down the mountain).

Arakurayama Sengen Park (Five-Story Pagoda)
This is the legendary spot where you can see both Mount Fuji and the five-story pagoda. Upon arriving at the famous pagoda viewing platform in Arakurayama Sengen Park, you need to climb stairs from the parking lot all the way up to the viewing platform. At the top of the mountain, you'll find the five-story pagoda, and if you continue further up, there's another viewing platform. On clear days, you can see both the pagoda and Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, when we reached the top, we couldn't see Mount Fuji, but the sky was very bright. The clouds occasionally parted a bit and then covered up again. We kept hoping to catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji through the clouds, but it never happened. Since we weren't in a hurry, we stayed up there for over an hour! In the end, we had to give up.
The weather was strange, with occasional light rain that never got heavy. Sometimes the clouds would part a bit, and the rain would stop. We even saw a huge double rainbow on the other side! Although the clouds obscured Mount Fuji, being so close to it made us realize just how massive Mount Fuji is. It felt almost unreal!

Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine
#japantrip While we tackled the steep stairs, the concrete path provided ease, especially for families with strollers. Luck was on our side as we were greeted by the magnificent sight of Mt. Fuji in all its glory. Despite the weekend rush, the crowds were manageable, allowing us to snap some incredible photos by the shrine. Being so close to Mt. Fuji left us in absolute awe. Parking was free and there were attendants everywhere directing tourists to the parking spots and the trail.

【Cherry Blossom Season】Shinkura Yama Asama Park: Cherry blossoms, shrines, and Mount Fuji perfectly framed together
It's not very crowded if you get up early on a non-weekend day,
so I went straight to the five-storied pagoda,
which took just over twenty minutes,
and there was already a row of old masters sitting there,
saying they were waiting for the 'snow cap' on Mount Fuji---
the peak's intermittent gathering and scattering with the clouds☁️, merging and separating,
creating different scenes...
Most visitors stay for a few minutes,
take their photos, finish their group pictures, and then disperse...
After all, the halfway up the mountain that they just passed by,
is where a large area of cherry blossoms and azaleas are blowing in the wind,
and it's overwhelmingly beautiful!
On the way down the mountain, the number of visitors gradually increased,
and there were even tour group flags fluttering...
It is said that they have started to control the direction and duration of the crowd flow up there~

The view of Mount Fuji
The Arakura Fuji Sengen Temple stands proudly in the middle of the Arakurayama Sengen Park. The five-tiered pagoda is located in such a way that it offers a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. Those who visit these places during the cherry blossom season will have a unique opportunity to capture three symbols of Japan in one photo at once.
Recommended
Visit the park in mid-April, during the cherry blossom season
To come here in November, when the red pagoda is especially good among the scarlet maples
How to get there
There are several routes from Tokyo to the park, mostly with transfers. Perhaps the easiest way is to get to Takao Station in western Tokyo and drive 40 minutes along the Chuo Line to Otsuki. Here you need to transfer to the Fuji Kyuko line and get off at Shimiyoshida Station. Arakura Sengen Temple is just a ten—minute walk away. After another five minutes of climbing the mountain, you will find yourself at the pagoda.
Memorial
The Arakura Fuji Sengen-jinja Pagoda was built in 1963, in memory of those who died in modern wars. There are 398 steps leading up to it, but they are worth going through in order to admire the magnificent views. In clear weather, Mount Fuji is visible on the horizon.
If you like competitions, try to beat the record of local schoolchildren: they managed to run up the stairs in just two minutes.

🌺 Very beautiful of Arakurayama Sengen Park

🌼🤗 During our unforgettable vacation, I embarked on a thrilling journey to the bustling metropolis of Japan. The arrival of spring had painted the surroundings with vibrant colors, and we felt a surge of energy as we ventured into the renowned Arakurayama Sengen Park. Immersed in the luxurious landscapes of this captivating sanctuary, we were captivated by the breathtaking panoramas that unfolded before us at every twist and turn, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
As visitors ascend the steps leading up to the Chureito Pagoda, they are greeted with a panoramic view of Mt Fuji standing majestically in the background, framed by the delicate pink petals of the cherry blossoms. The combination of the iconic pagoda, the snow-capped peak of Mt Fuji, and the vibrant cherry blossoms creates a picture-perfect scene that is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who visit.
The park's serene atmosphere and breathtaking scenery make it a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike to partake in hanami, the traditional Japanese custom of enjoying the beauty of cherry blossoms. Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the park, a picnic under the blooming trees, or simply sitting and admiring the view, Arakurayama Sengen Park offers a tranquil and picturesque setting to experience the fleeting beauty of cherry blossom season.
The extravagant and enchanting sanctuary has imprinted a lasting memory in the deepest corners of my mind. The sheer joy of revisiting and appreciating every moment in this exceptional haven is truly unparalleled. ✨️🌸🌼#mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip #trip

Came here towards sunset for the views. But so unexpected that the stairs would take the wind out of me. It was a truly long flight of stairs and a rather steep incline. Fortunately for some there was a slope by the side as well for you to climb gently up to the top, but this isnt for the faint hearted knees. Those knee caps will be put to work.
But the view was spectacular. Loads of people will be taking photos, as did i. But once that subsides, you will find yourself lingering for the view.
So expect the viewing space to be crowded and people jostling for the best position to get the best photo. But you will look past that and find quiet within to really take in the view.

Kawaguchiko Town surrounded by Mt.Fuji views
Mt.Fuji is the iconic symbol of Japan that no one can deny. One of the best places where you can enjoy the most fantastic Mt.Fuji views is from Kawaguchiko Town in Yamanashi. When you walk around the town, it’s hard to miss Mt.Fuji views and you can get the wonderful photos with very little efforts.
📍How to get there from Tokyo:
There are mostly two ways-by train and by bus, but I recommend to take bus unless you want to specifically experience the Japanese train culture. Taking a bus from Shinjuku area, it takes only 2 hours and the price is also more reasonable rather than taking the train. You will be dropped off at the center of Kawaguchiko.
📍You don’t have to do overnight trips. Because it’s only 2 hours away from Shinjuku by bus, you can do a day-trip.
📍For both overnight and day-trip travellers, you can enjoy Onsen provided by hotels and ryokans nearby. If you don’t sleep over the place, it is better to bring your own towels because most of those Onsen places do not provide with free towels.
I really loved traveling around Kawaguchiko and Mt.Fuji areas. It felt like I was in the fairytale towns. Highly recommend! #Kawaguchiko #fuji #mtfuji #japantrip

Fantastic place. A must visit when touring Mt.Fuji. You're just going to have to climb those stairs. There is a queue, at the top, to get to the Pagoda but the wait is well worth it. Outstanding views. Globally renown to be an iconic photo.
These photos I've shared do not do it justice. You must be there to feel the immensity of this mountain. You will be humbled.

Exploring the Gateway of Mount Fuji!
I took a day trip from Tokyo to Fujiyoshida back in August and it was fantastic! It’s a little bit awkward to get to but not impossible. First you take a train from Tokyo to Ōtsuki. Here you need to transfer to another train to Fujiyoshida. If you’re not sure, ask someone at the train station. There are some helpful volunteers who speak multiple languages!
I spent the morning walking around Fujiyoshida taking in the local Japanese culture. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day for me so my iconic photo of Honcho Street with Fuji in the background wasn’t so iconic.
After a lunch of horse meat noodles from a place called Miura Udon (the speak some English), I headed to Arakurayama Sengen Park for some cool views of the surrounding environment.
Later in the day, I took the 10 minute train journey to Kawaguchiko where there’s a beautiful lake and some iconic viewpoints of Fuji! Luckily the clouds began to clear and I managed to get some cool photos!
My favorite thing about this day trip was how quiet it was. I travelled during peak season to a famous attraction and there were very few people.
I hope you enjoy Fujiyoshida as much as I did!

Beautiful view from Arakurayama Sengen park, in Fujikawaguchiko, Japan. The view during February is mesmerizing with the snow on the top of the mountain Fuji🏔️Early morning view is the best, the sky is clear and blue with a good visibility to the mountain Fuji. From Kawaguchiko station to there is just one station and easy to find the path to the park!

Arakurayama Park + Mt. fuji ❤️
Mt. Fuji views + fall colors + Sunny weather = perfect visit! We visited this shrine on a bright sunny day in November and it was stunning. Mt. Fuji was visible all through the way up to the shrine along with bright read, yellow fall colors. Haven't seen it in other seasons, but visit during Autumn is a must. The climb up to the shrine wont take more than 20 min if you simply climb, but with such beautiful scenery, it took us more than an hour just capturing photos. Highly recommended to visit this when in the Fuji area. The five-storied pagoda at the top along with Mt. Fuji in the background is a perfect picture for a postcard. As with other places, this is heavily crowded and expect a lot of people. Located close to Kawaguchiko!
I wish to go back here in spring season this year.

An unbeatable view of Mt. Fuji
#2024wish The view of Mt. Fuji from the observation deck at Arakurayama Sengen Park in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture has recently come to international prominence.
Mt. Fuji looks beautiful from many locations in Fujiyoshida, a city at the northern base of the mountain. Among these, the view from the observation deck in Arakurayama Sengen Park, which is easily accessed from Fujikyu Railway’s Shimoyoshida Station, has recently become popular.
This park is located halfway up Mount Arakura within the precincts of Arakura Fuji Sengen-jinja Shrine at the foot of the mountain. To reach the observation deck, visitors must climb 398 stone steps. The climb will bring out a sweat even in winter, but ascending all those steps is worth it because the view from the observation deck is superb. There is also a sloped path for those who prefer not to or cannot climb the steps.

Scenic View of Mt.FUJI
This scenic park located on the mountainside of Mt. Arakura and in front of Mt .Fuji, offers a panoramic view of the city. A lot of people enjoy cherry blossoms in the park in spring, and also enjoy hiking.
Home to this iconic scenery, Arakurayama Sengen Park is one of the Top 100 spots for viewing Mt. Fuji in the Kanto region.
The park begins at the base of Mt. Arakurayama and extends up the mountain. At the top of a 398 stair hike is an observation deck that looks out over the cityscape of Fujiyoshida City and majestic Mt. Fuji towering above. Though the Spring sakura (cherry blossom) season is best for capturing the symbolic image of Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms and five-storied pagoda, the park can be enjoyed throughout the year with a stunning view that changes with the seasons.
Public transport: It is approx. 20 minutes on foot from Shimoyoshida Sta. on the Fujikyuko Line.
Car: Approx. 12 minutes from Fujiyoshida Nishikatsura Smart I.C. on the Chuo Expressway.

Cherry blossom
In the Fuji Mountain area, the best places to enjoy flowers are the Shin-Kura Mountain Asama Shrine and the Oshino Hakkai. This year, due to tourism opening up, many tourists have caused the Shin-Kura Mountain Asama Shrine to regulate its free parking lot. The place was packed with people, and parking fees were 1000 yen. To take pictures of the stunning scenery at the mountaintop, one had to queue for at least two hours, and in the end, we had to give up. Friends who plan to go should avoid weekends! The first three pictures were taken below the halfway point of the mountain, where cherry blossoms were everywhere. The last three pictures were taken at Oshino Hakkai. The last picture was taken at the mountaintop of Shin-Kura Mountain Asama Shrine in January this year. If it were paired with cherry blossoms, it would indeed be a stunning view!

Overlooking Mount Fuji from Jōshin'etsu-kōgen National Park.
In winter, Mount Fuji is closed off and cannot be approached. The best place to see Mount Fuji is at Sengen Park. This is a small mountain, and climbing 399 steps to the observation deck on the mountainside will give you a panoramic view of Mount Fuji. There are also many hiking trails on the mountain, and you may even encounter monkeys. The Sengen Shrine here also has a long history, and many Japanese tourists come here to pray.

The five-storied pagoda and Mt. Fuji
have a very classic photo about Mount Fuji. The front is the red five-storied pagoda, the rear is Mount Fuji, and the spring is more beautiful when surrounded by cherry blossoms. It is located in the Shinkurayama Asama Park in Fujiyoshida City. Remember not to use the "Fuji Shrine Shrine" to search, so you will find several shrines around the world...
From Kawaguchiko, you can take the Fujikyu tram. After 10 minutes by car, get off at Shimoda Station and walk about 10 minutes to the entrance of the park. The station can store your luggage. Or take the World Heritage Cycle bus and get off at the entrance of the Chung Ling Tower (the entrance of the Shinkurayama Asakusa Park).
will first see Shinkura Fuji Asama Shrine, which was founded in 705. After
, take 398 steps, or barrier-free slopes, to the five-storied pagoda and the observatory. When you walk down the stairs, look back, Mount Fuji is behind you~
arrive at the Observatory is the classic location. Although there are a lot of tourists taking pictures here, there are three levels of high and low level observatory, basically no passers-by will be photographed. The rest will see if the weather is matched with the time. The light in the morning and evening is better. Although I came here in winter, there is no scene of cherry blossoms, but I am quite satisfied.
Going up a bit is a bigger observatory, there is a pavilion for rest. If you don't continue walking, you can go down the mountain after taking the shot. The whole journey is no more than one hour.
The road saw a warning sign with bears, wild boars, and monkeys. Although one did not see it, everyone should pay attention to it. There are more than 200 cherry trees in
, if you want to see the cherry blossom festival, the time is in early April, and special events will be held in the park on April 6 and 7.

[Mt. Fuji hits the card | chasing the cherry blossoms to see the mountain]
Seeing the cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji here is absolutely perfect! When I went, I just caught up with the cherry blossoms, and the large sakura blossoms were already in full bloom. The wind blew through, and the cherry blossoms drifted with the wind! More beautiful than the imaginary Mount Fuji!
The hill is not high. You can walk to the top of the mountain with gentle ramps and fast lanes. When you pass by the shrine, don't forget to look back at Mount Fuji!
The best place to enjoy is the observation deck behind the Zhongling Tower. On the small platform, the clock tower, the cherry blossoms, and the Mount Fuji are in a picture. In this situation, I feel that there is no regret in the trip to Tokyo!
