On the island country of Singapore, there is a station of Arab culture situated on what is alluded to as Arab Street. Bedouin Street is a zone, that is home to numerous shops and bistros, alongside the most established mosque in Singapore. Customers can discover crafted works, for example, oriental rugs, rattan items, differed materials, and fragrances. The Sultan Mosque, worked in 1928, is accessible for visits at specific occasions. Initially a regal habitation worked in 1820, the Kampong Glam Palace is currently a Malay Heritage Museum, which shows Malay history and culture.

Must Visit Arab Street Rich Culture in Singapore
#markets #100waysoftravel #singapore
I recently visited Arab Street in Singapore and had an amazing experience. The vibrant neighborhood is a delightful blend of traditional and modern, with its colorful shophouses and lively atmosphere.
I enjoyed exploring the various boutiques and shops offering unique textiles, souvenirs, and traditional crafts. The area is also home to some fantastic eateries and cafes where I sampled delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, including flavorful kebabs and aromatic biryanis.
The historic Sultan Mosque, with its stunning architecture and golden dome, was a highlight of the visit.
Overall, Arab Street provided a rich cultural experience and a great taste of Singapore’s diverse heritage.

Arab street in Singapore 🇸🇬
#singapore
A strange street with lively painted shops amid some great murals. From food to pastries, sweets, clothes, souvenirs, artwork, colorful antique chandeliers, etc. Things are actually affordable. Since it’s a leisurely open shopping street, you can spend two hours here, so for those who sweat or burn easily, I’ll say the dress is really light and don’t forget the sun hat.
Just for the alert... Ladies will appreciate this more as a kind of our thing that appears in/out of cute stores no matter if we decide to buy things but the guys in my collection... They walked straight to the end of the street for ice cream
I found a review of a trip consultant suggesting the Arabian Silk Street before I went on holiday, and after talking to a fabric seller in Chinatown, I also supported the Arab Silk Street.
They sell many other fabrics as well but if you specifically want silk, I recommend a trip to the Arab street. There are many fabric shops next to each other. Any of them had beautiful fabrics. I stopped at Mahako and they had exactly what I wanted.
There is a mosque in part of the road on the street.
It is easy to walk to the street from the nearest metro station.

Mural artist gives Kampong Glam a glam up
Kampong Glam, a vibrant cultural enclave in Singapore, has recently received a touch of artistic glamour courtesy of Singaporean mural artist Yip Yew Chong. His latest masterpiece, adorning the side of a shophouse at 92 Arab Street, was unveiled on August 12th and has quickly become a captivating addition to the neighborhood’s landscape. Many celebrated by taking photos with the artistic transformation of Kampong Glam by Yip Yew Chong’s mural, showcasing how art can breathe new life into historic spaces and inspire creativity in the hearts of both residents and visitors.

Julie Bakes - Fusion Cakes
#mysgmemories
I first know about this cake shop when I tried their Onde-Onde Cake. They are famous for their fusion cakes. For example, they have Putu Piring, Badak Berendam and more. Basically, any Malay Kueh, they can transform into a cake! And the most important thing is it is delicious and shiok!
Located near the Masjid Sultan, you just have to walk a few steps to get to Julie Bakes. My favourite from the shop has to be the Onde-Onde and Serawa Durian. Durian lovers, you will love this!
When you walked into the shop, you can smell all the delicious cake and will be spoilt for choices. With so many selection, you wish you can buy everything.

Secret sushi shop
Hidden in plain sight within the heritage neighbourhood of Kampong Gelam, this second-storey sushi shop is a cosy restaurant with a nice view of the bustling shopping streets below! The owners designed it to replicate an airplane theme, which was quite interesting.
Food here was delicious too, plus every customer received a complimentary chef’s dessert after their meal. The only drawback is that the portions are fairly small for quite a high cost.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arab Street in SG
Amongst the diversity found in Singapore, Arab Street shines as a special gem. I love strolling the alleys in this area - there are murals, small shops selling items you would not find elsewhere in Singapore. The food here is great too, although it is pricier than other local food places since this area caters more to tourists. The 100% Arabica coffee shop here is always busy and packed, but it’s a great place to recharge with some coffee. Arab Street is a wonderful place to chill and snap some awesome photos.

Cultural heritage walk
One way to find the hidden gems in one of Singapore‘s most established heritage neighbourhoods is to sign up for an walking tour here. This used to be an area dedicated to the Malay community back in Singapore‘s developing years and many of the beautiful shophouses have been preserved and repurposed. We learnt about the rich history behind many of the buildings and nature parks, like how one bookstore had been passed down to the third generation in the family! Very artsy place to come immerse yourself in especially if you’re a history buff.

Arab Street Food Trip
Singapore is a food paradise. Serving foods from all ethnicity and cultures. At the Arab Street, you get to choose from some of the authentic food. You can have a meal of Turkish kebab beef or chicken, served in a plate of rice or in a wrap form for easier bites. For western food lovers, you may try out the buffalo sandwich burger meal together with the truffle fries. To go along with the foods, a cup of blueberry coconut sorbet would be great to have, under this sunny weather.
Be sure to try out the dishes when you are at the Arab Street.

Exploring Arab Street & Kampong Glam
Getting There - Nearest MRT is East- West (Green) Line Bugis Station. Abt 10 Mins walk.
Attractions - Arab Street, Sultan Mosque, Kampong Glam and surrounding
During my station at Intercontinental Hotel, I became a tourist in my own country and explored the Arab Street, Kampong Glam and the surrounding areas. The area is so amazing and captivating and full of vibrancy.
Rich in history and traditionally a congregation area for Muslim immigration from the past, the area retains the culture and traditions up to today. The modern skyscrapers in the background creates an interesting view and reflects the seamless integration of historical and modern buildings .
The first sight that catches your attention in the area is the Sultan Mosque, a landmark of the area with a long history. Walking along Arab Street, you will see many shops selling carpets, traditional clothing, textiles, handicraft etc. There are also many restaurants offering different cuisines - Lebanese, Turkish, Malay etc.
For tourists and local, Arab Street and Kampong Glam area is a must visit.

🌟Tipo Pasta 🍝 Bar 🌟 حلال ( HALAL )
Address - 28 Aliwal Street, #01-07, Singapore 199918
Ambiance/Facilities - Boasting pastel pink and turquoise walls, large windows, and beautiful pendant lights, Tipo Pasta Bar’s interior was very Instagrammable. The restaurant had a decent amount of seats with ample space, and it was very warm and inviting. However, it got crowded really quickly by the time our food arrived. We didn’t mind it, but it might not be ideal for those looking for a quiet place to dine in.
Highlights - Classy Carbonara ($17.60++), Build Your Own Pasta ($9.90++)
Avg. Price per Person - SGD30
Rating - 8/10
If you’re a pasta lover like me, you would have probably heard of the highly raved-about Tipo Pasta Bar, a Muslim-owned restaurant that specializes in handmade pasta. Every time I’d plan to visit, they would be fully booked. This time, I decided to be a bit more kiasu and walk in to the store before they opened. But the food 🥘 were really amazing!!!
The brioche bread 🥯 was crisp, buttery, and toasted to perfection. But the star ⭐️ of the show was the
Classy Carbonara and Creste De Gallo was our pasta of choice here. The dish stars a creamy sauce made from egg yolks, grated Grana Padano, tender smoked duck 🦆 , and a sous vide egg 🥚 . Each bite was filled with pocketfuls of creamy goodness.
Overall, I felt that Tipo Pasta Bar did live up to its hype. My only gripe with it would be the small portions and the difficulty to get a reservation. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience and would come back for special occasions with family and friends. With such premium ingredients, this restaurant is definitely worth a shot. And Tipo Pasta Bar is a Muslim-Owned restaurant.

New Food Street @ Arab street
#2023travelwish #tripblazers
Love the newly opened food street at the Arab street. There are few stalls selling a range of foods. From desserts to sandwiches to finger foods. There is always a long queue at the stall selling puff. They have an assortment of puff for you to choose from. They have the black pepper beef puff, lamb puff, sardine puff, and the authentic curry potato puff. Be sure to try out there as the prices are affordable. The puff starts from 2 bucks onwards.
My 2023 travel wish is to fly to Malaysia to try out their authentic puff. I especially love the curry puff at the mid valley mall. I do love to shop at the aeon mall to pick up some finger foods and grab them back to the hotel to enjoy.

Persian Carpet Gallery
45 Arab Street, Singapore 199743
If you are looking to buy back a Persian carpet, then the Arab street is the place to look for. The Arab street is famously known for their fabric and clothing. A walk on the Arab street, I saw at least a few shops that are selling carpets.
This shop retails Persian carpet which looks extremely beautiful when I take a look. There were some tourists walking by and asking for the pricing and the quality. I believe that such an expensive Persian carpet will definitely add value to your house, making it look more grand and luxurious. Do consider this place when you are intending to buy a Persian carpet.

Arab street shopping
#meetsingapore
If you are looking for traditional costumes for your school harmony day or any occasions, you can consider coming to Arab street for your needs. There are also many shops specialising in carpets too. I know it might be hard for our homes to be using them because of our weather. However, it is also quite common to see carpets in the homes too. You can also buy tea leaves and textiles too. The shops are housed in the pre-war time shophouses and forms a part of our Singapore history. Now they are preserved as part of the conservation program by URA (Urban Redevelopment Authority. You can also find these shophouses in Chinatown, Tanjong Pagar and some other places.

Fanciful designs restaurants Arab street
#meetsingapore
Every single eatery here along Arab street looks like they are personalised to look special, unique and has its own character. For example, the sushi airways restaurant, its iconic red designs with stainless steel installations make it look like a spaceship. Then you have the Cappadocia restaurant and its bright blue and white colours makes it look inviting. Over here, there are also regular coffeshops if you prefer local food. Most of the eateries have tables along the road side when the streets are closed to car traffic. This is known as the car-free zone. This will allow more customers into the eateries and cut down on waiting time too.

The Little Streets Along North Bridge Road
There are many shop houses located along North Bridge Road starting from Arab Streets where there are many shops selling many colourful textile and clothings, traditional middle Eastern restaurants that are owned by middle Eastern people themselves, the many small little cafes even from dessert cafes to just coffee and the standard western ones.
Also, you will also be able to see the beautifully built sultan mosque located in between of muscat Street and South Bridge Road. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the mosque for phototaking, there are several picturesque spot to take photo of the mosque within one of the street. My recommendation is to head towards Jalan Pisang Road which is directly perpendicular to the mosque, giving it an amazing shot.

Beautiful Street Art in Arab Street Area
#createwithtrip locally now as we too have an area filled up beautiful street art. Head down to Arab Street / Kampong Glam area on a cool evening to explore the main streets and side lanes to find all these pretty paintings on the walls and doors or any surfaces.
You can start from Ophir Road side or Jalan Sultan and make your way systematically to the other side. If you are tired, there are plenty of local and concept cafes for a cold drink. Also, evening is a good time to explore as you can also end the walk with dinner at one of the eateries there. Enjoy and remember to dress comfortably as our humid weather can be quite warm :)

Arab Street - Cultural Attraction
Visited one of the heritage sites in Singapore - theArab street. Famous with its Sultan Mosque and full street of Mediterranean food.
Other than the Main Street right in front of the mosque, there are several small street around the area, which mainly serves middle eastern cuisine and Turkish dishes. most of the dishes here are halal certified thus every weekend here is packed w our Muslim friend, not easy to find a parking lots though.
I tried one of the higher ranking Turkish restaurants - Sultan Turkish Restaurant, ordered their signature grill for 2 pax, the portion is huge, come w chicken skewer and lamb, their lamb is nicely done, strongly recommended. chicken can give a pass.
One thing to mention is we don’t know what’s the difference between 2 and 3 pax platter, when we see the bill, it charged us for 3 pax portion. after explained to the staff that we only have 2 person and we ordered other dishes too, it is not possible for us to order a 3 pax portion, the owner understand that it might be their mistake and they are okay to charge us with 2 pax price. just a gentle reminder: do check your bill upon payment just in case you are paying extra.

Short Gateway to Singapore with Good Food
Short food adventure in Singapore!
Staying at LYF Bugis Hotel is #foodtrip a great location to explore nearby food spots. Ng Kuan Chilli Pan Mee must have been a satisfying first meal—spicy, savory, and packed with flavor.
Starting the next day with % Arabica coffee from Arab Street sounds perfect, given its charming atmosphere. And Sultan Restaurant for authentic Arabian cuisine, a delightful experience!
Ending the trip with Michelin-rated Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is a fantastic choice—the peppery broth, tender pork, and all the side dishes make for a comforting and memorable meal.

Afterwit: A Mexican Feast with a Pricey Twist
#favouriteitinerary
Craving some Mexican flavors, I headed to Afterwit on Arab Street for a taco and nacho fix. The cozy, laid-back vibe set the scene for what I hoped would be a satisfying meal.
I went for the taco platter to sample a bit of everything, and while the flavors were decent, they didn’t exactly blow me away. The Nasty Nachos with beef were a solid pick—crispy, cheesy, and generously loaded, but not the best I’ve had.
To top it off, the bill was on the steeper side, making me wonder if it was really worth it. Overall, Afterwit delivers on variety, but for the price, I expected a little more wow factor.

Afterwit: Tacos with a Side of nachos
#favouriteitinerary
Afterwit Mexican Taqueria serves up a variety of Mexican classics, from tacos and nachos to quesadillas and burrito bowls.
We went for the Nasty Nachos with beef, a popular pick, and the taco platter, which lets you sample all the different taco flavors. To wash it down, we tried the Tabasco Mango and Watermelon Mint drinks—both unique but not necessarily must-haves.
While the flavors were decent, the prices felt a little steep for what we got. Overall, it’s a 6/10 for me—good, but not great.

Halal Mexican food : Afterwit Mexican Taqueria
#favouriteitinerary
Afterwit offers a variety of Mexican favorites, including tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and burrito bowls.
We tried the Nasty Nachos with beef, a popular choice, and the taco platter, which is a great way to sample all the different taco flavors. For drinks, we had the Tabasco Mango and Watermelon Mint, both of which were interesting choices.
While the food was decent, the prices felt a bit high for the quality. Overall, I’d rate it a 6/10.
