The 30th stop in Türkiye: the Temple of Apollo and the Temple of Athena in Side
🌈Attractions: Side is located on the Aegean coast of southern Turkey, close to Antalya. It is an ancient coastal city with a long history. Although the city is not big, it has very spectacular historical buildings and is famous for its numerous relics from ancient Greek and Roman periods.
The most famous attraction is the Temple of Apollo, which is located close to the sea and stands between heaven and earth. Although only 5 Roman columns are left, when the sun sets, it contrasts with the rosy sky and sea, creating an extremely beautiful scene.
The Temple of Athena is next to the Temple of Apollo. When the lights are turned on at night, if you are lucky enough to visit it, it will feel like traveling through time. The classical architectural style and well-preserved sculptures make every step seem to be stepping on the mark of history.
🎟️Ticket information: The Temple of Apollo and the Temple of Athena are open attractions and are free to visit. However, the Temple of Athena has been under restoration and maintenance. Staff may discourage visitors from entering during the day, but you can basically see the entire view from the outside.
🕐️Opening hours of the scenic area: from watching the sunrise in the early morning to watching the sunset in the evening, and enjoying the night view of lights after the night falls completely. The Temple of Apollo and the Temple of Athena can be visited at any time.
💗Other tips: There are paid attractions in Xidai, as well as free attractions like temples. It is recommended that if you have purchased a ticket to visit the ruins, you can visit the paid items first, and in the evening, choose to watch the sunset at the ancient Greek theater or the Temple of Apollo on the seaside. After nightfall, find a delicious restaurant to fill your stomach, and then stroll through the Side night market. This small city is the most surprising thing for me in the entire Turkey trip. If you have enough time, it is recommended to stay in Side.
