When I set foot on the ancient land of Egypt, the mysterious atmosphere swept me into the torrent of history. When I walked into the Luxor Temple, the huge stone pillars towered into the clouds, with complex hieroglyphs and mythological patterns carved on them. In the Valley of the Kings, I explored the tombs where the pharaohs lay. The exquisite murals on the walls depict their achievements in life and their prayers for the afterlife. But when I stood in front of these magnificent tombs, I felt a little melancholy. The ancient Egyptian civilization was so brilliant, and the pharaohs spent their lives pursuing eternity, but they were eventually buried by time. I used to drift with the tide in the secular standards, pursuing those seemingly dazzling but actually empty goals. Now, I understand that life is short, and there is no need to be obsessed with illusions. Luckily, I got to sit and watch the light, color, and sound show on the balcony in front of the room. I didn't have to buy an entrance ticket. I stayed in this area for 2 nights. * First day When you arrive, go to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). After the trip, come back to watch the sunset on the balcony of the room. The light is very beautiful. * Second day I walked around the Pyramid since the door opened. Early in the morning, the secret to getting beautiful pictures without people is to hurry to take pictures at the Sphinx first. Then walk to all 3 pyramids. I walked around all the pyramids by myself. Didn't take any car at all. Walked around and cut through everything. Let me tell you, I'm still fascinated with Egypt.... The cafe itself looks really inviting, with soft green furniture that gives off a relaxed vibe. We had coffee and dessert, which were decent and the prices were fair. #newyearnewtrip It was our first time staying at a Steigenberger Hotel and we were pretty excited. We wanted somewhere central and went with this one because of the good reviews. The hotel was in a central location, but somehow, something felt off. There was a KFC nearby, though a bit of a walk, but the vibe when we were walking around didn’t feel great, maybe it's a different kind of atmosphere to what we're used to. Hotel security was tight with bag scans at the entrance. Though the hotel was nice, it didn't have that sense of warm and welcoming. The room was alright, but the bathroom was a highlight, modern and well designed.

Zööba] This Egyptian restaurant is popular for its koshari. The interior is cute, but it's frequented by both tourists and locals. We ordered koshari, molokheiya, and taameiya to share for two people, and the portions were just right. The koshari tomato sauce was sour and topped with plenty of fried onions, so you can enjoy the texture. The taameiya was a good amount, fried crispy, and delicious! My personal favorite was the molokheiya, which had a strong garlic flavor that gave it an energizing taste. It had a thick, strange texture, but it was delicious. The hibiscus limeade we ordered as a drink was also refreshing and not too sweet, so it was great! [2. Koshary Abou Tarek - كشري أبو طارق] A famous koshary restaurant that is used to tourists.
