Amerigo Vespucci (Amerigo Vespucci) is very magnificent.
Visit Amerigo Vespucci, the most beautiful Italian sailing ship in the world... The large sailing ship “Amerigo Vespucci” is the oldest warship still in service with the Italian Navy. The motto of the ship is “It is not he who begins, but he who endures”, which was inspired by the words of Leonardo da Vinci, an Italian scholar of the Renaissance, emphasizing the importance of completing tasks.
Amerigo Vespucci was designed and launched by the Royal Navy Shipyard Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, on 22 February 1931. To this day (2024), it is about 93 years old ... Amerigo Vespucci began her first training voyage through Northern Europe in July 1931. The ship has 3 main decks (upper, middle and middle) and 2 superstructures (bow and stern castle). At the bow, there is a gilded bronze statue of Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian explorer and navigator of the 15th century.
.
Since its launch, Amerigo Vespucci has been used mainly to train first-year cadets of the Italian Naval Academy, together with students from the Francesco Morosini Military Academy, cadets from other Italian Naval training institutes and recruits from organizations such as Lega Navale and Sail Training Association Italia.
.
Over the past 30 years, the ship has also been used to protect the natural environment and marine ecosystems. The ship regularly cooperates with associations such as UNICEF (as a Goodwill Ambassador since 2007), WWF and Marevivo, exemplifying the policy of complementary use of the Italian Navy. In order to convey the importance of respecting our planet to the next generation, with its ongoing maritime diplomacy around the world, Amerigo Vespucci has also earned a reputation as Italy’s floating embassy.
The ship’s crew consists of 264 military personnel, including operations, navigation, details/weapons, naval engineering/electrical, administration/logistics, and medical. During training, the ship will be supported by approximately 100 cadets and support personnel from the Naval Academy, bringing the total personnel to approximately 400.
