Nanjiluo in Yunnan, a small popular travel destination that I am willing to walk countless times.
📍Located in the hinterland of the 'Three Parallel Rivers', within the territory of Weixi County, Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
There are high mountain rhododendrons, lakes formed by glacier water, and pure natural high-saturation scenery. Every place makes me feel like I am in a fairyland, and it has also become a lifelong memory in my heart.
👣Nanjiluo is a hiking route, suitable for 2-10 months.
At present, there is no airport or train station in Nanjiluo, it is recommended to drive or charter a car to go.
🌅The temperature difference in various places in Nanjiluo is large, the high-altitude areas are cold, and equipment for all seasons should be carried.
The ways to enter the mountain are horse riding, hiking, and motorcycles, but it is not advisable to ride a horse and motorcycle for 30 kilometers.

Antarctic Luo Plateau Hiking Traveler's Guide
I went to Antarctic Luo during the ten hours of losing contact with the world!
I came by charter from Yubeng, a 90-minute journey. I stayed in Badi Township that day. The journey from Badi Township to Antarctic Luo is the shortest. The hotels are all more than 200 guesthouses. I set off at six o'clock the next morning and took an off-road vehicle to go in. The hotel can help contact the guide. The guide will drive us into the mountain and accompany us all the way. The cost is 300 yuan. I will book a motorcycle back the day before. The motorcycle will pull from the checkpoint to Lake No. 3. The whole journey is 40 minutes. It takes four hours to hike. I personally suggest to take a motorcycle directly to Lake No. 1 or Lake No. 3 and then hike around. It will take about five or six hours to finish. Because the scenery from the checkpoint to Lake No. 1 is very ordinary, I personally think it is unnecessary to walk. It's a waste of time and energy, it's better to go to the most beautiful place, the whole circuit can be finished in half a day.

Nanjiluo has 12 plateau lakes, and the hiking route is around these lakes.
In summer, the meadows of Nanjiluo are green and full of wildflowers. Although it often rains, it is still beautiful!

❷ Wudi Lake

Wudi Lake is not big. It is located on the edge of Shangri-La City, about 2 hours' drive away.
There is a beautiful mossy primeval forest by the lake. The light hiking route takes more than an hour. You can walk through the forest to the meadow full of wildflowers and then back to the lake.

❸ Luoguqing

Luoguqing is very similar to Xinjiang. There are many hiking routes, long and short, for you to choose from.

❹ Niaodiaoshan Mountain
Difficulty: ⭐️⭐️
Niaodiaoshan Mountain is located around Dali, and you can return on the same day. The whole journey is about 10 km. Although it is a plateau meadow, the climb is not steep. You can walk and play along the way without getting tired!
🚗 Navigation: "Datang Power Station". It will be easier to start from the white house (bird-watching station).
❺ Muxiangping
Difficulty: ⭐️
It is located behind Shuanglang Ancient Town, with a very short hiking route. The scenery is not as stunning as the previous ones, but it is easy for beginners!
🚗 Navigation: Liantai Mountain. Drive up the mountain road. You will pass by "Chicken Nest Cafe" and "Huoshan Village" and drive to the end of the road. You will see a large farmhouse sign "Farmhouse in the Mountain" on the left. Park your car on the roadside, enter the small road on the right, and walk along the road to the meadow!

Within the area, there are 15 snow-capped mountains exceeding 4000 meters in altitude. The highest peak, Laowo Mountain, stands at 4435 meters. Above 3500 meters, the terrain consists of grasslands and rocks; between 2800-3500 meters, there are pine and fir forests; below 2800 meters, there are mixed forests and shrublands.
The mountain climate is extremely variable, with numerous waterfalls and a concentration of alpine lakes. The core scenic area features alpine lakes all above 3800 meters in altitude. The best times to visit are during the rhododendron blooming season and late autumn.

1. Transportation: Take an off-road vehicle at the end of the village, after passing through 43 hairpin bends, you will reach Lake No. 1. The whole journey takes one and a half hours, and the mountain road is thrilling and exciting.
2. Hiking routes:
- Lakes 1-5 small loop: About 6 kilometers round trip, relatively easy, no significant difficulty.
- Lakes 1-9 large loop: About 10 kilometers, can be completed in 5 to 6 hours, with some difficulty, especially the slope from Lake 5 to Lake 6 is particularly steep, with a vertical elevation gain of 200 meters, but the scenery is very beautiful.
- Lakes 10-12 route: Quite a test of physical strength, first walk from Lake 1 to Lake 3, then climb from Lake 3 to the pass for 1.5 kilometers, with a vertical elevation gain of 700 meters. If you want to challenge yourself, you can give it a try.
3. Costs:
- Off-road vehicle: From the village committee to the scenic area, a 4-person off-road vehicle round trip costs 300 yuan per person. If you can't find 4 people, 1 to 3 people can only charter the vehicle, costing 1200 yuan.
- Guide fee: 300 yuan, can be shared by the whole vehicle.
4. Reservation: Only 200 people can go up the mountain in the scenic area every day, reservations need to be made 5 days in advance.

Complete Guide to the Nangjiluo Small Loop Trail
1️⃣ Lake No. 1 (Figure 1)
Altitude: 3880m
After taking an off-road vehicle from Achidaga Village for nearly two hours, you will arrive at Lake No. 1. Get off the vehicle and start hiking.
2️⃣ Lake No. 2 (Figure 2)
Altitude: 3923m
Time: Lake No. 1 to Lake No. 2: about 6-10 minutes
This section has a gentle slope, a wide path, and a short distance, making it a good warm-up stage.
3️⃣ Lake No. 3 (Figure 3)
Altitude: 4029m
Time: Lake No. 2 to Lake No. 3: about 20 minutes
The slope starts to increase, but the path remains wide. There is a small trail leading down to the shore of Lake No. 3 for photo opportunities.
4️⃣ Lake No. 4 (Figure 4)
Altitude: 4100m
Time: Lake No. 3 to Lake No. 4: about 30 minutes
After Lake No. 3, the slope becomes steeper and the path narrower. After climbing to the top of the slope, you will enter a flat section and reach Lake No. 4. Those who are not physically fit or not acclimated to high-altitude exercise may experience discomfort such as dizziness or tinnitus. If so, slow down or take a break.
5️⃣ Lake No. 5 (Figures 5-7)
Altitude: 4200m
Time: Lake No. 4 to Lake No. 5: about 25 minutes
Cross a small stream and climb a section to reach the most popular Lake No. 5. The Nangjiluo Small Loop Trail ends here. You can take photos at the famous waterfall and explore the area around Lake No. 5 before returning the same way.
6️⃣ Lake No. 6 (Figure 8)
Altitude: 4290m
Time: Lake No. 5 to Lake No. 6: about 35-40 minutes
Lake No. 6 is the highest in altitude and requires crossing a 4333m pass. This section is also known as the "Slope of Despair" due to its steepness, with an ascent of about 130m.
7️⃣ Lake No. 7 (Figure 9)
Altitude: 4150m
Time: Lake No. 6 to Lake No. 7: about 40-50 minutes
After Lake No. 6, it's all downhill. After two long descents, you will reach Lake No. 7 (a small pond along the way is often mistaken for Lake No. 7). This section has a lot of loose rocks and steep slopes, so be careful when descending.
8️⃣ Lake No. 8 (Figures 12-13)
Altitude: 3940m
Time: Lake No. 7 to Lake No. 8: about 50 minutes
After Lake No. 7, the descent is relatively gentle. You will pass through flower fields, waterfalls (Figure 10), wooden bridges (Figure 11), forests, and streams to reach Lake No. 8.
9️⃣ Lake No. 9 (Figure 14)
Altitude: 3890m
Time: Lake No. 8 to Lake No. 9: about 30 minutes
A short ascent into the forest will lead you to an abandoned wooden house. Follow the small path along the stream to reach Lake No. 9. Lake No. 9 is small, with large meadows of flowers around it, but there are many muddy swamps. Be careful where you step to avoid getting stuck in the mud.
🔟 Lake No. 3 (Figure 15)
Altitude: 3950m
Time: Lake No. 9 to Lake No. 3: about 25 minutes
After some gradual ascents, you will return to the shore of Lake No. 3. Follow the small path on the left side of the lake back to the main road and hike to Lake No. 1 to take the vehicle down the mountain.
Summary:
Small Loop: Lakes No. 1-5, takes about 4-5 hours, with an ascent of about 300m, highest altitude 4200m, total distance about 6.5km. The highlights are Lake No. 3 and Lake No. 5. It is a light hike with low danger and difficulty, featuring many alpine rhododendrons and flower meadows, suitable for photo opportunities.
Large Loop: Lakes No. 1-9, takes about 6-7 hours, with an ascent of about 500m, highest altitude 4333m, total distance about 8.5km. The highlights are Lake No. 5, and the forests, meadows, and flower fields around Lakes No. 7, 8, and 9. It requires physical fitness and has some danger.

Antarctic trekking guide:
1. Currently, Antarctic scenic areas do not allow external vehicles to enter. Ways to enter: A: Hiking in (about 30+ kilometers, takes a whole day, not recommended) B: Find a leader (they have their ways, you know)
2. Antarctic trekking is divided into a large loop and a small loop.

Nanji Luo in Lisu language means "the place where cattle and sheep are grazed". The guide said that this was where they grazed sheep when they were young, and there are still pastures on the mountain. It is a high-altitude wetland lake group composed of 12 lakes of different sizes, and the tour time is 3 days and 2 nights.

It is recommended to charter a car from Lijiang or go with a small hiking group. The reason is that half of the journey is a national road plus 5h driving time. It is very hard to drive back and forth. You need to set off at 6 o'clock the next day to go to the starting point. After hiking, you need to return to Lijiang. It is recommended to save physical strength and enjoy the scenery.

The mountain road section is monopolized by local villagers, and you can only go to Azhi Dagaga Village and then carpool with local villagers and guides 300💰/person to reach the starting point of Lake No. 3.
The mountain road conditions are very dangerous, and the zigzag steep slope goes straight up to the top of the mountain and down the mountain.
