The Most Beautiful Bridge in Chengdu
#100WaysOfTravel
In the heart of Chengdu, China, stands the venerable Anshun Bridge, a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage. This ancient stone arch bridge has witnessed centuries of laughter, tears, and whispers, its seven elegant arches spanning the waters like a gentle giant.
Built in 1746, during the illustrious Qing Dynasty, Anshun Bridge began its life as a humble wooden structure. But as the years passed, its importance grew, and in 1835, it was reborn in stone, a sturdy sentinel standing guard over the city.
Time took its toll, and the bridge's grandeur began to fade. But in 2004, a meticulous restoration breathed new life into this ancient marvel, ensuring its beauty and significance would be preserved for generations to come.
As you stroll across Anshun Bridge's 55-meter length, notice the intricate details:
*Intricate Carvings:Delicate stone patterns reflecting Taoist harmony
*Timeless Design:A blend of traditional Chinese architecture and artistic flair
This iconic bridge has inspired countless artists, writers, and poets throughout history. Its image has been immortalized in classical Chinese literature and art, cementing its status as a cultural treasure.
Today, Anshun Bridge remains one of China's oldest and best-preserved stone bridges, a living testament to the nation's rich cultural heritage. As you walk beneath its arches, feel the weight of history and tradition.

Summer Trip to Rongcheng | Anshun Covered Bridge
Anshun Covered Bridge and Jiuyan Bridge Bar Street are important landmarks of Chengdu's nightlife. Anshun Covered Bridge is a bridge with a long history in the Ming and Qing styles, while Jiuyan Bridge Bar Street is a distinctive area that combines modern high-rise buildings with quaint streets.
Anshun Covered Bridge is located next to Hejiang Pavilion at the confluence of the Fu River and the Nan River in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, spanning the Nan River. The bridge has a long history, with its earliest architectural traces dating back to the Yuan dynasty. The Anshun Covered Bridge is 81m long and 6m wide, with a Ming and Qing style. On both sides of the bridge, there are antique archways with red walls, green tiles, flying eaves, and curved corridors, which highly condense the essence of Chinese national architectural style. The bridge's railings are carved with the 'Four Gentlemen' of flowers - plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum - complementing each other. On the bridge, one can view large bas-reliefs themed on Tang and Song dynasty poetry, listen to the babbling water, and look back on historical changes. The scenery on both sides of the bridge is different; one side is a quiet and spacious road, while the other is a bustling and narrow street, which is the famous bar street that extends all the way to Jiuyan Bridge.

An Iconic Pretty Bridge in Chengdu!🇨🇳
#timetotravel
We have been to this place countless of times since we always take our tourists frinds here. We start by walking around the area since it is in the center of Chengdu. The bridge has tea houses inside so you can stop over and sip Chengdu tes while looking at the river. It is free to enter the bridge. There are a lot of bars and restaurants on both sides of the river so you can also stay in one of those until the night comes when the bridge is lit up! It is gorgeous at night especially when you see the reflection of the bridge on the river. What a sight to behold. Definitely a must visit landmark in Chengdu.
Address: 66 Binjiang E Rd Jinjiang Qu.
Nearest Subway Station: Dongmen Bridge Station line 2 and it is like almost a km away.

THE BRIDGE - Chengdu
The Bridge, located at Anshun Bridge, is a fine dining restaurant helmed by Michelin award chef Andre Chiang, this is also the first restaurant that he open in China. Since launching in December 2017, THE BRIDGE has set a new standard for world-class Sichuan cuisine and has been established as a destination for gourmet diners from around the world.
The restaurant offers both set menus and a la carte dining. Highlight of the menu is the chef’s signature ‘four chapters’ set menu which consists of different types of dishes, and each of it is taste awesome! Also, must try the chicken soup dou hua, braised duck, Mapo tofu and the yummy desserts! their desserts is really the number one dessert that I have ever tried!!

When night falls, in this "night owl" city, it is not just street lights, but also a variety of turbulent nightlife. The night in Chengdu, whether you are a ten-level foodie, or a nightclub, you can see the legendary Sichuan opera or the night view.
Anshun Covered Bridge, this is the most beautiful place in Chengdu night scene, many photographers will come to take pictures at night, all the shots are big!
The Anshun Gallery under the night lights are brilliant and radiant, and the legendary "Golden Bund" is well-deserved.
Next to the covered bridge is Chengdu's famous bar street. Each bar is lined up in a row, with lots of colors and vocal music. It is very lively. In the meantime, even those who don't drink want to go in for a drink and feel the atmosphere.
Every wonderful here, starting from the nightfall. The nightlife in Chengdu is so rich, don't miss it! This is also my most desirable life.
