This year, I wanted to spend the Spring Festival away from home, so I chose to visit Yongzhou, which is only a three-hour high-speed train ride from Guangzhou, to enjoy the food and scenery. I searched for homestays on Trip.com and found this one, Mubai Homestay, which has a stylish decor. The temperature in Yongzhou dropped sharply during the Spring Festival, so she asked us to warm ourselves by the fire and eat some peanuts and red dates, which warmed our hearts. The homestay has two floors and is quite spacious. It combines many retro wooden furniture pieces and has a classic charm. Last time I went to the northern Lengshuitan District, which is more than twenty kilometers away from Lingling. The ancient city of Lingling has been established as the earliest administrative division of Yongzhou since the Western Han Dynasty, for over two thousand years. It is also widely known thanks to Liu Zongyuan's 'The Story of the Snake Catcher' and 'A Record of a Little Stone Pool' being included in Chinese textbooks. Liu Zongyuan was demoted to Yongzhou for ten years, leaving behind the famous 'Eight Records of Yongzhou,' with 'A Record of a Little Stone Pool' being one of them. The Liuzi Temple is the best memorial the people of Yongzhou have for him, and not far upstream from the temple is the location of the Little Stone Pool. In order to recreate the scenery of the Little Stone Pool, the Yongzhou government blew up the dam that submerged it, which is in line with the repeated destruction and reconstruction of the Liuzi Temple. On both sides of the Yu Creek in the ancient city of Lingling, the ancient streets and lanes blend with the newly built antique-style architectural district. The pleasure boats on Yu Creek and tourists dressed in ancient costumes have become a scenic spot in the ancient city. Walking down along Yu Creek, you can reach the confluence with the Xiao River, which is especially beautiful at night. From the jumping rocks at Little Stone Pool, one can cross to the other side of Yu Creek, truly embodying the sense of 'becoming islets and rocks, crags and boulders'. Liu Zongyuan's attitude of 'walking leisurely and wandering aimlessly' in his 'First Experience of Banqueting in the Western Hills' has also deeply entered the hearts of the people of Lingling. Wuxi Park is very large, not only beautiful scenery and deep historical background; the park has many open-air cliff carvings, including the essence of Wuxi Cliff, Tang Carving 'Great Tang Zhongxing Song' stele, a whole wall of stone carvings; there are 'Demon Mirror', 'Demon Suppression Charm', runes that can bring good luck, etc.; there is also this good scenery by the river, walking in Wuxi Stele Forest, every place is a good view. After the tour, I set off for Liu Zi Temple in Lingling Ancient City, which was built in the third year of Zhihe in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the third year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 900 years. There are three brick and wood structures in the temple, with a stage in front, a yongdao in the middle, and a rear hall from the yongdao. The temple has Liu Zongyuan's historical events, stone carvings rubbings and back garden, from the front hall to the back garden, quite charming. In the evening, I visited Liu Zi Street next to Liu Zi Temple. Liu Zi Street is 550 meters long, built in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, was the official road in the ancient Xianggui thoroughfare, the street buildings are mostly Ming and Qing ancient buildings, now there are still well-preserved old buildings, but they have all become rental shops for ancient costumes and coffee shops, you can rent a set to take some ancient costumes here. On the second day, from Lingling Ancient City to Jiangyong Nvshu Garden, here is the only 'female text' found in human beings so far——Jiangyong Nvshu, which is a national intangible cultural heritage, composed of female characters, female songs, female red and its inherited folk customs, forming a rich and three-dimensional female book custom. Nvshu Garden is located on Puwei Island, known as 'Nvshu Resurrection Island', 15 kilometers away from Jiangyong County; surrounded by Xiaoshui on all sides, with beautiful scenery and simple folk customs, entering Nvshu Garden is like entering a peach blossom source, far away from the hustle and bustle and complexity of the world, only the beautiful scenery and rich historical atmosphere.
