It takes about 2 and a half hours to get here by bus from Kyoto on a day trip. It is easier to take a direct bus with children. We chose to take the cable car to the observation deck, where we can take a lot of nice photos and see one of the three most scenic views in Japan, the "Amanohashidate Hiryukan". We can also try to look at it upside down from under our buttocks, which is quite a novel experience. There is also an amusement park here where kids have a blast. You can ride an aerial bike to enjoy the scenery, with a wider and unobstructed view, which is a completely different kind of beauty. Then take the cable car or chairlift back down the mountain and walk to Zhi'en Temple and the coast. This long and narrow sandbar stretches across Miyazu Bay. The most classic way to play is to climb up to the observation deck and look at the scenery upside down. You will find that Amanohashidate is like a "dragon ascending to the sky". Then you can walk down to the sandbar and find a super beautiful beach 🏖️. Many people are also playing in the water. If you don’t want to go down, you can also borrow a bicycle 🚴 to ride on the sandbar. In the afternoon, we went to #伊根船屋 , where we could take a boat to see the houses. It is super close to Kyoto Station, which is very suitable for a stroll just after leaving the hotel in the morning. #0yentravelFebruary2025 Visited in November I took a night bus from Osaka Station to Amanohashidate Station. If I took the train, I would have had to transfer even from Osaka, so I chose a bus that would take me there in one go. I arrived in the morning, but there was a long line for the lift to the observation deck, so I recommend arriving early. The photo spot where you can look through your legs is a must-see. There are many tourist attractions and historical sites, including the pine trees of Amanohashidate and the opposite side of Amanohashidate, so I think it's best to stay for a day. 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: When I came here, I encountered a university. I took the cable car (super exciting) up and enjoyed the feeling of heavy snow hitting my face. Amanohashidate & Ine Travel Log Today's trip started with excitement because it was the day we were going to experience "One of the Three Best Views of Japan" at Amanohashidate and stop by the old fishing village at Ine. 🚅 Travel to Amanohashidate This morning, we took the Limited Express Hashidate No. 3 from Kyoto, heading to Amanohashidate. The journey took about 2 hours. The train passed through the countryside of Kyoto, gradually changing to a view of mountains alternating with rivers. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing. When we arrived at Amanohashidate Station, the air was cool and the sky was clear. We took a bus that stopped in front of Amanohashidate Eki to Ine, a fishing village hidden in nature. 🧭 Ine - Old Fishing Village Arriving at Ine felt like traveling back in time. This small and quiet village was lined with "Funaya" (boat houses) built by the sea. Each house had a lower floor as a ship storage warehouse and an upper floor as a residence. 🗺️ Shichimendou Temple We stopped by Shichimendou Temple, a small temple located on a hill. You can see the view of Ine Village and the vast sea. 🍱 Lunch at Restaurant Bar Nagisa It's lunch time. We choose to go to Alex's restaurant - Restaurant Bar Nagisa, which is located by the sea. The menu we ordered was fresh fish caught from the Sea of ​​Japan, served with hot Japanese rice and miso soup. It was slightly salty and had a fragrant smell of the sea. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and friendly. 🧭 Amanohashidate - The Bridge to Heaven After we were full, we returned to Amanohashidate, our main destination for the day. 🗺️ View Land - The Legendary Viewpoint We chose to go up to View Land, which is a viewpoint where you can see Amanohashidate from the most beautiful angle! While walking, we found a shop selling shrimp crackers, so we bought some and threw them for the seagulls to swoop down and eat from our hands – it was a fun and memorable sight. 🍱 Dinner: Choose a delicious meal before heading back Before heading back, we chose a restaurant for dinner. Kuji Kara Ramen in Amanohashidate – a large bowl of ramen packed with rich flavors, perfect for recharging after a day of walking around. We signed up for a one-day tour for this trip, and gathered at Nihonbashi at 7 o'clock. Our hotel was in Shinsaibashi, one subway stop away, very convenient. The three places for the one-day tour are quite far apart, and it takes about 4 hours by car. We also have two children with us, so fortunately we can relax and sign up for a one-day tour. Amanohashidate, we were a little worried when we first heard that everyone had to sit in the cable car alone without seat belts, especially the children. But later on during the ride we found it very interesting. The cable car is actually very close to the ground, so there is no need to worry. Going out to sea to feed seagulls scared the child so much that his original expectation turned into hiding in his father's arms. Miyama Town would be more beautiful if there was snow, but the ice cream there is worth tasting..
