Aman Venice
Aman Venice
I traveled to Venice last month and stayed at Aman Venice.
The hotel is small and located in the center of Venice. You have to take a boat to get in and out. It takes about an hour to get to this sea palace from Venice Airport.
There are only a few rooms in the hotel, and the owner lives on the top floor.
The hotel is a very old classical castle, and Aman has kept the castle as it was, with no major changes inside.
The public areas of the hotel are small and few, with only one proper restaurant (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner are all served there). The outdoor garden faces the canal, and the view is nice, but it is really hot and sunny during the day.
The room is very large. I stayed in room 01, a large suite with a canal view. The bathroom is also very large, and of course, all Aman hotel rooms are very large!
As an Aman Junkie, Aman hotels are really good at paying attention to detail. On the day I checked in, I went to the hotel for lunch and ordered sparkling water, while my companion ordered regular mineral water. The next day, when I went for breakfast, the morning staff poured me sparkling water, which shows how much attention Aman pays to detail. Then, during my two-day stay, any staff member who poured me water at any location would serve me sparkling water, while my companion was served regular purified water.
On the day of check-out, I asked the hotel to arrange for Aman Venice's exclusive boat to take us to the airport (for an additional fee). The GM and others were already waiting for us in the lobby, bowing 90 degrees and waving goodbye until we were out of sight. This broke my impression of the seriousness of European hotel service and was very warm.
This is the deepest impression I have of this trip. Overall, Aman Venice is also worth a visit, as each Aman has a different style.
