Aman Summer Palace, Beijing.
Stay at Aman Summer Palace and take a walk through the back door of the Summer Palace.
The Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing is currently the talk of the town, setting new records for hotel prices in China. But let's talk about Aman Summer Palace.
As the first Aman hotel in China, it was designed by architect Jaya Ibrahim. The hotel was originally part of the Summer Palace and was a place where officials and nobles stayed before meeting with Empress Dowager Cixi. Therefore, the hotel has a small door that leads directly to the Summer Palace (see the last two pictures), which is a true back door to the hotel.
The hotel can be roughly divided into two parts: the renovated historical buildings and the newly built imitation buildings. The standard rooms and suites are new and are located on the right side of the lobby, away from the Summer Palace. The courtyard rooms and deluxe suites are renovated from the original buildings and are close to the Summer Palace. It is recommended to stay in a courtyard room or a deluxe suite.
The room type for this stay was a courtyard room. The room area is about 50 square meters, which is a bit crowded. The room layout and facilities are as shown in the picture, so I won't go into detail. The desk is equipped with the four treasures of the study, and you can ask the butler to bring Xuan paper for calligraphy and painting. The mini bar is well-stocked with drinks and is free. The welcome snacks are Chinese style, and the night bed gift is a feather fan, which is quite interesting.
The hotel has complete entertainment facilities, especially a private cinema, which is awesome.
