[2025 Amami Attraction] Travel Guide for Amami Marine Aquarium & Museum (Updated Jul)

A one-day trip to experience the traditions and nature of Amami Oshima! First, we went to 📍Oshima Tsumugi Village for a dyeing experience. Oshima Tsumugi, a traditional craft representative of Amami, is characterized by its deep black-brown dyeing using a unique technique called mud dyeing. Under the guidance of a craftsman, we tried tie-dyeing by ourselves, and completed a one-of-a-kind piece. We were moved by the feeling of Amami's nature and culture in each process! Next, we went to 📍Amami Marine Exhibition Hall Here, we could feed sea turtles, and observe them closely up close. 《C Block "Learn, Play, Experience" Area》 The museum is divided into three themes, and on the second floor of the C Block Exhibition Hall, you can learn about the nature of Amami on a giant screen. You can also experience diving into the waters of Amami in a VR experience (VR is for ages 13 and up). Killifish are kept in rice cookers, and you can make handicrafts (for a fee).
