It is a symbol of the country and is used to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives for national independence and war. A nice river cruise
Not really, but you do get to cross the Paraguay River if you go down to the port area in Asuncion, Paraguay and take the passenger ferry to the other side of the mighty waterway on which sits the Paraguayan capital city. The journey time is about 10 minutes. There is not much to do when you do reach the other river bank (apart from waiting for the return ferry) but at least you will get a different perspective of the city for some nice photos
