🇪🇸Marvelous Malaga🇪🇸 This is the Teatro Romano de Málaga~ Malaga's Roman theatre which remained hidden underground for many centuries. It lies at the foot of the Alcazaba fortress in the western part of the city. It was discovered in 1951, after having remained buried underground for many centuries. Dating back to the first century, it was built during the Empire of Augustus and was used up until the third century. The Arabs used parts of the theatre for their own building purposes. They took capitals and column shafts for their own Alcazaba fortress as support for the horseshoe arches over the doorways. The theatre has a radius of 31 metres is 16 metres tall and has an orchestra of 15 metres. The area has three main stands and gateways that lead into the stands. Alcazaba is located in the city centre, behind the ancient Roman theatre. It is also conveniently located near the University of Malaga. It can be quite a climb for elderly but it definitely has a wonderful view of the city and very suitable for families. My friends and I enjoyed the old architecture, fresh air and beautiful view of Malaga, including the port:) There’s also an area within the attraction that showcases artefacts and the history of the place. Entry is free on Sunday AFTER 2pm so I would recommend to go then! #celebrateit The first southern Spain city I went to was Malaga. Prior to arrival, I had no idea of its history of Muslim ruling. I think it’s one of the lesser known fact to the world—according to Malaga Museum, even a fact that Spanish tried to downplay many centuries ago. But due to this part of history, however short, there are many alcazaba—which is some kinda palatial fortification—left over by the Muslims in different cities in the southern Spain. This was one of them. One wonderful thing that I learnt of Malaga is: Sunday is the free entry day of many attractions, including the Alcazaba, and Gibralfaro Castle starting from 14:00. On other days, it would be 3.5€ for either of them or 5.5€ for both. Though interesting, had you included Seville/Granada on your itinerary, you may skip this place if you’re tight on schedule. Because they are of similar styles/elements, but the alcazaba/palaces in the two cities are many times more intricate and mindblowing.

🇪🇸Marvelous Malaga🇪🇸 We visit One of the beautiful sights of Málaga~the Castillo de Gibralfaro. The ruins of the castle are located high above the old town. The hill on which the remains of the castle are located is about 135 metres high. It is easy but quite tiring to walk up the steep path along the walls of the Alcazaba, we were literally sweating in the cold going up🥹🤣 ⭐️But The view of the city is already stunning during the ascent and quickly made us forget the effort. I was particularly impressed by the view of the Alcazaba, which didn’t look that big from the street. ⭐️Best part is What a wonderful view of the city! There is the view inland and the mountains in the hinterland. On the other side, you look towards the harbour, the waterfront and the Costa del Sol. I went to the local market of atazarenas with a friend from the hostel. If you want a glimpse of the everyday life of malaguenos. This is where you go. Visit one of the coffee shops and be amazed at the number of offerings. Needless to say the Picasso museum is not to be missed. Also, plenty of day trips from here. I had the luxury of time so i ended up staying in some amazing places in Andalusia. #familytrips2024 Fortress Alcazaba was built during Arabic khalifat. It is a great place to see and visit. The views are stunning and it is totally worth it. There are many stairs and also you must walk up the hill. But there is so many nice spots to have nice pictures.Very cool historical site with gorgeous views of the city and interesting architecture. Our dream destination is to go to Hong Kong for my family trip as Hong Kong is paradise for food lovers, offering a wide variety of culinary delights. My family will enjoy it very much.

The Alcazaba in Malaga is said to be one of the best preserved Alcazabas in Spain! The word Alcazaba comes from the Arabic word al-qasbah, قصبة, meaning fortress! I took a picture of the model inside the Alcazaba, and it's actually much bigger than I thought. Actually, I almost got lost inside🤣 ✅ There's a combined ticket for the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro Castle in Malaga!! I recommend purchasing them together #HongKongFlightEvent

After visiting the Alcazaba (tip - go early before it's too busy and buy a combined ticket - cost is very reasonable), I walked on to see Gilbrafalo Castle. It's a steep path but with amazing views all the way - and a great place to rest to enjoy the sights. Once there you can walk straight in without queuing again if you already have your ticket, if can get very busy. The castle itself mainly consists of the walls you can walk on for more amazing views onto the port and city of Malaga. If you're thirsty there's also a lovely bar, though it would have been great if it also served food. I'd avoid this at midday as there isn't much shelter from the sun. when finished you can walk down again - though if you don't fancy the walk there's also a bus (public transport) and the hop-on-hop-off bus going up.

Getting There - Best way to get to the Centro area would be via a Uber very cheap and ideal and a walk up the fort via the designated walk uphill. Attractions - Malaga/Plenty of viewpoints of Alcazaba castle and forts Hotels - Many to select from in the Centro area 7 kms away Food & Restaurants - Wide range of food spots available highly recommend Restaurante La Alcazaba De Mijas Shopping - Many shops including Zara and other great brands

Alcazaba is built between 1057 and 1063, it is located just below Castillo de Gibralfaro, and is around 2.3 kilometers 30 minutes walk from the train station. Alcazaba offers a spectacular view toward the harbour area, but you can get a better view at Vista Lookout or Castillo de Gibralfaro. A small uphill climb can get you to the main open courtyard with gardens and fountains in the middle. The courtyard then spills into another elevated area that leads you through another gate into the upper part, with a beautiful arched window. A Roman Amphitheater was discovered in the 50s following the construction of cultural centre building. You get a free entrance when you come on Sunday after 1400hrs.

The Alcazaba is an old palace in the city of Almeria. If you compare it to the Alhambra Palace in Granada, it's a completely different style. There are no additional decorations or constructions here, but they try to preserve it so that it doesn't collapse. If you have enough time to visit Spain, before going to Granada, stop by and stay for 1 day. It won't hurt. #Spain #almeria #alcazaba #Europe

Alcazaba fortress was already built back in the early 11th century by Hammumid Dynasty during the times when Andalucia was under Arab control. Inside the fortress, the visitor can experience breathtaking views from many places. The fortress itself and the sea seen from the hill (the fortress was built on a fairly steep hill) is just amazing. The regionally important citrus trees are also present and the colorful fruits can be seen during the autumn. As moving in the fortress area is quite hard due to the steep hill, selecting a fairly cool day to visit the place can be a good idea. There are some ticket packages available that grant access to all the historical buildings in the area. Seeing all of them needs one day or even more so don’t try to push yourself too hard. I personally enjoyed that there is a new beautiful view waiting behind almost every corner. The different parts of the area are somewhat varying in terms of style and condition so it’s worth going everywhere. Some snacks and drinks can be bought inside the area but the availability of services is fairly limited. Remember to have your drinking water with you! The fortress is situated in the heart of the old city of Malaga in Andalucia, Spain. it can be seen from the harbor and easily accessed from the shopping streets in the center. Actually the location is so central, that it’s fairly hard to miss the place. I really recommend going to Malaga. The history can be seen and felt there so it’s among my favorite places in the south coast of Spain.
