Had an amazing time exploring Albany, WA and the local area. Such a cute town with coffee shops galore - although not many places open late I'm evening for dinner so beware when planning. We enjoyed some short hikes to different sites, specifically the Gap and Natural Bridge, Cave Point Lighthouse, and various beaches in the area. The Windfarm has a great boardwalk hike for 5km, I didn't do the whole thing, but it was a fantastic spot for sunset! So much to unpack, so little time! I recently visited the Albany Wind Farm, and it was an incredible experience. Located just outside of Albany, Western Australia, this wind farm is a remarkable sight to behold, with its 18 towering turbines set against the backdrop of the Southern Ocean. The first thing that struck me was the sheer scale of the turbines—standing at 65 meters high, they’re both impressive and a testament to renewable energy technology. The walk along the Bibbulmun Track offers stunning views of the coastline, and you can get quite close to the turbines, which is fascinating. The sound of the blades cutting through the air is surprisingly peaceful and adds to the unique ambiance of the place. Informative signage along the way provides insights into how the wind farm operates and its environmental benefits, making the visit educational as well as visually striking. What made the experience even more special was the serenity of the area. Even though the wind farm is a popular spot, it doesn’t feel overcrowded.
