When I looked north using the telescope of the observatory, I could see the northern terrain very clearly even though it was a cloudy day. Standing on the Unification Observatory of Aegibong, it is only 1.4 kilometers away from North Korea, separated by the Han River. This is the closest place to North Korea in the entire South Korea. Through the high-powered binoculars provided on site, I could clearly see the lives of the North Korean people on the other side of the strait: farmers were walking slowly with their cows in the fields, people were riding bicycles through the villages, and puppies were walking along the ridges with their owners. At that moment, the picture was quiet, innocent, and almost unreal. A scene from the movie "The Truman Show" suddenly appeared in my mind - it was like watching a designed parallel time and space through a giant screen. Everything seems so natural, regular and carefully arranged that it is hard to tell whether it is reality or illusion. This experience is really shocking. Coming to Aigi Peak is not just about the beautiful or novel scenery, but also a soul-stirring observation. To be honest, when I first came to Seoul a few years ago, I thought it was just about shopping, eating beauty fried chicken, and visiting Dongdaemun, but I lost interest after just a walk around. But this time when I visited again, I completely changed my mind! Seoul is a city with endless treasures to discover - we walked 60,000 steps in three days, and we were willing to walk every day because there were amazing discoveries in every district! 1. Shengshui Cave: A paradise for hipsters We spent almost the entire afternoon and evening soaking in the Holy Water Cave. This used to be an old industrial area, but now it is home to hipster coffee shops, perfume workshops, and designer boutiques. Just smelling the scents and looking at the art design in the fragrance store can take up an hour. There are also warehouse-style cafes, each of which is super photogenic and delicious. 2. Myeongdong Comic Street: Surprises around the corner Everyone is familiar with Myeongdong, but have you noticed the street surrounded by comic characters? We walked in accidentally and looked up to see a lot of nostalgic cartoon characters appearing on the walls of the buildings. The whole street was like a living comic museum. We exclaimed as we walked around, and there were Easter eggs in every corner. 3. Han River Park: A perfect afternoon of cherry blossom viewing and relaxation In the bustling city, we found an afternoon to sit in the Han River Park, looking at the blooming cherry blossoms and the sparkling river in the distance, doing nothing and thinking about nothing. The Han River in spring is so beautiful that even time seems to slow down. 4. OLiving Young: A beauty paradise where people go crazy on shopping sprees This store is too dangerous! We recommend that you make sure to leave some space in your suitcase! 5. Aigibong: Few tourists, but the scenery is worth it This time we also made a special trip to Aegibong, a place that few tourists visit. This is one of the best places to view North Korea. We were the only foreigners on the entire hill, so it was very quiet. When I climbed onto the observation deck, the view of North Korea in front of me was both shocking and peaceful. This silent gaze left a deep impression on me. It is recommended for those who want to avoid the crowds and experience a different side. This trip finally made me realize that Seoul is not boring at all, but I had previously viewed it too superficially. #FuriTabiWinter The first place in the world to see North Korea. I went to Starbucks as soon as it opened on 2024/11/28. It is located within the grounds of Egibong National Geopark in Gimpo, Seoul. To enter, you need a passport and 3,000 won per adult, without change. Take the shuttle bus into the Geopark, and then walk for about 5 minutes to Starbucks. It was just after opening, so it was full of Koreans. There were hardly any foreigners in sight. It was 1.5 km from North Korea, so it was very exciting to be able to see the land of North Korea.
