This four-star hotel under the Marriott Group is more business-oriented. Although it is cheaper and the decoration is simpler, it has all the necessary facilities. However, its disadvantage is that it is some distance from the bustling city center. Maybe it was because we stayed there on a weekday, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite. The indoor space is about 50 square meters, with a living room and bedroom independent of each other. In short, it has a very homely and simple style. The double room we originally booked was about 28 square meters and cost just over NT$2,000. I checked the price of the suite and it was only around NT$3,000, so it was affordable. There is a large local shopping mall, Bukit Jambul Complex, and a golf course next to the hotel. Apart from that, there is not much to visit nearby. The car park is located in the basement, unfortunately there is no elevator available, it's not convenient for guests who have to bring large luggage to car park by staircase. The car park parking is free, but you need to validate at the front desk prior to going out from the barrier, otherwise the charge will be incurred. The hotel is surrounded by local restaurants, such as Kayu Nasi Kandar, Chinese local food restaurants and Malay's food restaurants. After flying back from Kota Kinabalu, we chose to book the same hotel because we parked our car here at the basement for free for 4 days, thanks for their kindness. However, this time we booked more luxurious room, 2 bedrooms suite, most importantly we paid less because we redeemed 203 ringgit from Trip app 😍 My mom loves the room a lot, so do I.

On the last day in Penang, I had an early flight the next day, so I moved to the Marriott AC Hotel which was closer to the airport. The hotel is also not very close to Old Town George, where tourists tend to gather. The hotel is located in a residential area of ​​New Town, surrounded by high-rise buildings. There is no need to communicate in advance and you can directly upgrade to a suite. It's just that the room shape is a little strange. Looking at the floor plan, we can see that it is the protruding part of the fan-shaped building, so both the living room and bedroom have curved bay windows. There were no expectations before moving in, but there were more surprises than expected. There is an outdoor swimming pool, which is small but mostly empty. A relatively worthwhile place to visit in the surrounding area is Queen's Square, and the hotel also has a shuttle bus, which is very suitable for having dinner or strolling along the beach. Titanium members also have small benefits: happy hour in the lobby bar at 5:30 in the evening, alcoholic drinks and simple snacks. Although it cannot be used as a dinner in the evening, it is still good to pass the time. There are two clear disadvantages. One is that it is close to the main road and it is noisy with many cars at night. Secondly, there are too many steps, and there are steps connecting the bedroom to the bathroom and shower room. Some outdoor swimming pools in the public area also have two steps. It is easy to trip if you are not careful, which is very unfriendly to children. Overall, it is more suitable for hotel owners as an airport transit hotel. Booking with Marriott points is a great value for money. I look at the change as a positive improvement because with the change, create a new vibes on the room itself. Room itself give this contemporary design and vibe. It’s a open wardrobe concept, but still have this two spacious close drawer on the bottom. Iron and ironing board are keep on a side compartment so you have to look carefully. I especially love the details and arrangement of the sofa and the mirror. I took a wonderful pictures on that area/ spot. Bed and pillow are comfortable, no complaint on that part.

We stayed here for one night before flying to Kota Kinabalu and this is the best hotel for us which located near the airport.
