I went on Monday 🙌 I had heard that there would be a line, but I was surprised that there was quite a line even during the day on a weekday 😳 I went after 3pm and waited about 40 minutes. You can buy takeout without lining up! I ordered cheese pudding (¥680), Basque SP (¥680), and Earl Grey iced tea 💕 The drink was a set with cake for 1,150 yen. The size is small, but it's very rich and filling. It might be quite tough to eat two after lunch...! A Works, a unique cheesecake shop, is located in Chuo-cho, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, a 7-minute walk (560m) from Gakugeidaigaku Station. The shop currently uses a system where you write your name, and the staff start recording your name from around 5am, so you have to line up from 4am😅. Only 50 groups are accepted per day. I lined up at 5am out of curiosity, and was able to taste the cheesecake without any problems! The shop opens at 12:00. There are various flavors of cheesecakes in the shop, and the pudding is also very popular. The pistachio Basque is especially recommended, and the rich cheese flavor will satisfy you with just one bite😘. It seems that Japanese people often order three cakes and puddings at once, and then take some home, so it seems that there are many repeat customers😂. The other day, I took an early morning train to A WORKS, a cheesecake specialty store that I've always wanted to go to. This store has been featured on TV and in magazines many times and is very popular in Japan. When I arrived at 7am, 40 groups of customers had already registered their names. It's time for cheesecake again. For me, the combination of coffee and cheesecake is just right, like apples and cinnamon 😎. Judging from the queue, this shop's cheesecake seems to be a pretty popular Instagram spot. My friend and I waited in the cold wind for about 20 minutes (while waiting, I was praying in my heart that they wouldn't disappoint us). I ordered the banana caramel cheesecake, and my friend chose the limited edition pudding because of her preference for pudding. I couldn't forget the black sesame cheesecake from last time, so I thought this cheesecake was more interesting in texture than taste. The banana in the cake was just the right ripeness, soft and chewy. I took a bite of my friend's pudding and found the layers of the pudding to be more interesting. The top layer was pumpkin pudding, and the bottom layer was caramel pudding, which is more fluffy like a cake than a traditional pudding. In the kitchen behind the register, the owner (maybe) was busy making cakes, and when I saw the photos on Instagram, he was quite handsome. All the staff were wearing white coats, and my friend said they looked like researchers. This month, I finally mustered up the courage to try the much talked about A Works! This Instagram-popular cheesecake is made by Yoichiro Funase, who is a C.P.A. certified cheese professional, and is characterized by its cheesecakes that combine unexpected ingredients. Unfortunately, it is only open 3-5 days a month, with reservations starting at 6am and opening at noon. So today, I lined up at the site at 3:30am, but there were a dozen people who were earlier than me, and I was finally able to enter as the seventh group. I entered the store around 12:15pm. This month, there are about 11 types of menus, and it seems that you can enjoy different seasonal flavors every month. We ordered the original and matcha pudding, the croissant and rum raisin cheesecake, and the sesame + mochi cheesecake. In conclusion, it was really delicious! The pudding is two-layered, with the top layer being cheese and the bottom layer being pudding. The combination of the moderate bitterness of the matcha and the caramel was exquisite, and the egg flavor of the original pudding was also exquisite. Both puddings were very firm, and the overall flavor was wonderful, especially with the matcha meringue on top and the original flavored cream on top, with the addition of vanilla! For cheesecake, the croissant rum raisin was my favorite, and the slightly sour sake-flavored dried fruit and croissant exquisitely neutralized the sweetness, and I was surprised from the first bite. The sesame was also rich, and it was my first time to try such a special cheesecake, with sesame mochi filling, hard cheese, dried fruit, and cream, and I really liked it.
