This place is one of the must go especially for tourists. There are so many instagrammable spots that I wanted to take photo at but too bad I was alone here. After I went to St Paul & took pictires there, I just realise that AFamosa is actually just downhill. Ended up I went up and down 4 times. What an adventure!

Dutch heritage design @ Melaka 🤩
Freeport A’Famosa Outletn is a collaboration with London based Freeport Retail is centrally located between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, near Melaka which has been certified World Heritage site by UNESCO. The Outlet is located adjacent to the main entrance of A’Famosa Resort in Alor Gajah, a renowned tourist landmark in Malaysia.
I love to spend my time with my family here. The Dutch heritage design was conceptualized with the state government of Melaka and was designed by a leading Australian architect. Built as an open-air mall, the heavily greened landscape includes five water features, a lake, four parks and lawns, a windmill and a carouse

The Church of St.Paul - Malacca
Buit in 1521 by Portuguese nobleman Duarte Coelho, the original church at the site was called Nossa Senhora da Annunciada, dedicated to the blessed Virgin Mary. Almost 30 years later, in 1548, it was deeded to the Society of Jesus and the deeds title was received by St. Francis Xavier, widely regarded as the Catholic missionary pioneer in Southeast Asia. Since then, it underwent several expansions including the addition of a second level and a bell tower. In 1592, a burial vault was opened where prominent individuals were laid to rest.
When St. Francis Xavier passed away at sea in 1553, his body was kept at this church for a period of eight months until it was shipped to Goa.
Only the walls of the old church, the bell tower and the statue of St. Francis Xavier remain standing today. In its long almost five-century history, this church became witness to the conquest of the Portuguese, the Dutch, and the British of the city, making it a significant historic site and one of the most popular tourist spots in Malacca.
Because of its location, the church also offers a gorgeous view of the city and its shores. Tourists flock within the premises of the church, reading the tombstone inscriptions and taking pictures. Some locals choose to sell souvenirs inside and around the site.

A good place to have a walk while looking at the historical view!
As I arrived in Malacca, I feel very excited because I got to see the historical city for the first time. Every corner of the place got its own story especially when I visited A famosa and St Paul's Church. To get on the top of the church, you need to climb stairs and it is quite high. Recommended to do visit during morning as malacca is quite hot during afternoon.

A-Famosa Fort and St Paul's church
#fallingseason
Early autumn we ad our vacation in Malaysia, and we dropped by Malacca for a one day trip. The most famous spot to visit is of course the A Famosa fort gate and St Paul's Hill and church. Malacca City was the capital of the Malacca Sultanate for almost 110 years from Year 1400+ till 1511 until colonized by the Portugese. This fort was built and commissioned the following year by Alfonso d Albuquerque. The fort was fortified during the Dutch occupation and then destroyed by the British when handed over. The only parts that was left is the fort gate, and still standing after 500 years. This serves as the relic of the central of Kota Melaka.

A famosa was a portuguese fortress in Malacca. It is a very picturesque place. You can have your photo taken in almost every corner beautifully. Glory History
A Famosa, known locally as Kota A Famosa, is one of the oldest surviving European architectural wonders in Asia even though its gate house called Porta de Santiago is the only part of the fortress that remain standing. A Famosa, known locally as Kota A Famosa, is one of the oldest surviving European architectural wonders in Asia even though its gate house called Porta de Santiago is the only part of the fortress that remain standing. Afonso de Albuquerque and his fleet arrived and conquered Malacca in 1511, marking the beginning of the town’s Portuguese era. After beating the Malacca Sultanate army, he immediately had a fortress built at the base of a hill (now called St. Paul’s Hill). It was Albuquerque’s belief that Malacca would play an important role in linking Portugal to China as part of a series of outposts in Asia. Some of these outposts include Macau and Goa, India.
