Kwun Tong Classroom Theme Japanese Restaurant
We chose a Japanese restaurant with a Japanese campus 🏫 theme and retro wooden style 🇯🇵~Hibi Cafe for lunch.
The restaurant is filled with school classroom tables and chairs, blackboards, physical education pommel horses and other furnishings, making diners feel as if they are in school. The other side of the box is filled with collectibles such as bookcases, magazine racks, antique typewriters and retro cameras, providing many great places to check in.
The restaurant specializes in fresh sashimi donburi and Japanese set meals. My brother and I chose:
🌟 Saikyo-grilled flounder set meal $196 (9.3/10)
A Japanese set meal comes with miso soup and two appetizers (Japanese eggplant and jellyfish). The flounder is fried until extremely crispy, especially the skin, which is crispy and delicious. The fish body does not fall apart but is very tender and smooth, very good quality.
🌟Daily Premium Donburi $248 (9.1/10)
This donburi is full of fresh and diverse sashimi, just what I like. The portion is large, and the sashimi includes tuna paste, tuna belly, prawns, scallops and fish roe. The scallops are super thick and sweet, the prawns are chewy and have no fishy smell, and the fish are shiny and look very attractive.
🌟Shizuoka-produced melon soda (+$28.0)
Many Japanese restaurants only offer ready-made melon soda, but this Shizuoka-produced melon soda is obviously more thoughtful.
🌟Japanese-style fried dumplings (3 pieces +$22.0) (8.8/10)
There are many snacks that can be added to the set meal, such as this Japanese-style fried dumplings. Each one was hot and crispy enough, and three was just the right amount. What I appreciate most is the black sesame dumpling sauce, which is a little spicy, fragrant and tasty. (But be careful not to give it to children, the waiter did not mention that it is spicy 😅)
