Maeklong Train Market
This place is basically a market and a train station. The interesting part to me was how close some of the shops were to the railway! And I don't mean 10 metres (32.8 foot), or even 5 metres (16.4 foot)! Think alot closer! So everytime when a train passes, the train sounds the horn, and all the vendors pick up their wares in a matter of seconds. Once the train passes, within seconds everything is back in its place.
Over here you can try out some of their local delicacies, and purchase some souvenirs. While roaming around, you will find some local snacks, deserts that you may not have seen before and I would encourage you to try, like the bamboo sticky rice!
So if you have the time, and don't mind travelling out of the city area (90 km away from Bangkok) , you can consider checking out this place.
