Just back from another world! The last few days in the Perhentian Islands have been an absolute dream. My logbook is now filled with sightings of green turtles munching on coral, clownfish defending their anemone homes, and even a graceful blacktip shark gliding by. The warmth of the water and the incredible visibility made every single dive feel like a privilege. My Top 3 Tips for Diving Perhentian: * Go during the dry season (Mar-Oct) for the best conditions. * Book in advance! Especially your dives and accommodation if you're travelling between June and August. * Bring cash! Don't rely on finding a working ATM on the islands. By day, the island offers coral-rich snorkeling, jungle trails, and hammock-lined chalets. But for me, golden hour was the highlight—the moment the island truly exhaled. Travel Tips: • How to Get There: Take a speedboat from Kuala Besut Jetty (approx. 30–45 mins). • Best Time to Visit: March to October; monsoon season closes most resorts after. • Stay: Choose west-facing resorts like Tuna Bay or Coral View for the best sunset access. Pro Tip: Bring a wide-angle lens or simply go barefoot with a coconut in hand. No filter needed—just nature’s perfect farewell to each summer day.

After the trip, I regretted not contacting to buy the combo tour in advance. The island tour always includes Hotel - Tour around the island, total price from only 2,000,000 VND / person (400 Ringgit). If anyone wants to go, I will show you! 🍊4N3D Itinerary at Perhentian Islands Day 1: Saigon - Kuala Lumpur - Kota Bharu Because the island is quite far away and has just been known recently, there are no direct flights from Saigon to Kota Bharu. I had to choose the transit option in Kuala Lumpur. That's why day 1 is the day I chose to travel. Day 2: Kota Bharu - Long Islands Beach (Perhentian Islands) At 8:45 I was at the pier to travel to the island; the boat will depart at 9:00. There is a new boat every 1 hour. The boat is quite rough, so I don't recommend you eat too much or too much in the morning if you don't want to get seasick. I decided to stay at Long islands beach (Small island) because it has most of the interesting activities on the island from food, bars to diving. Aman resort is the hotel I chose for 2,500,000 VND (400 Ringit) / night. The hotel is not too beautiful but has a sea view and is clean and tidy - the most important thing for a trip. However, to get to Aman, I need to hire a taxi boat for 50,000 VND (10 Ringit) / person to go from the pier. Or else I can walk 20 minutes on the sand with all my belongings. Activities on the first day are lunch, diving, BBQ and watching fire dance. About diving for those interested: The price for diving is 1,000,000 VND / person (200 Ringit). You only need to pay 400,000 VND / person if you have a diving license. Day 3: Long islands beach - Turtle Point - Fisherman Village - Keke Bay - Kota Bharu Almost all island tours will have tours and most of the tours include snorkeling (for 3D2D or 2D1D). However, because I went diving the day before, the other tours were not suitable at all. After negotiating the price of 650,000 VND / 2 people (130 Ringgit), I visited the 4 places mentioned above. Because Perhentian Islands is quite wild, all the places are brand new and extremely clear. At 3:30 pm, I moved to the pier to return to Kota Bharu. Honestly, this city feels a bit sad because it is so quiet. The shops close at 6:00 pm, so what's the point of eating and playing, even though I rented an Airbnb right in the city center. Two Sun Restaurant is a restaurant I highly recommend. The food is quite delicious and the price is also cheap 300,000 VND / 2 people / 4 full dishes (60 Ringit). We chose to stay at📍Shari-La Island Resort, having heard many positive reviews from friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the place, especially sitting on their swings, looking out onto the horizon. Breakfast was delicious as well, again, with that beautiful sea view. 🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: It had many pools, a playground, multiple relax spots. Kids were having a great time running around the paths. It even led down to a semi-private beach. Perhentian island is one of islands in Malaysia that attracts locals and foreigners, the blue ocean makes it more attractive. Located in Besut Terengganu. From KL can go by bus at Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Terminal or by airplane. I recommend to take bus as the stop is nearer to the jetty. The package of Perhentian island includes a night stay, meals, snorkelling, boat transfer from jetty. The price ranging from RM200-600 depends on the package. The bedroom is comfortable for a night or two nights stay. We can also watch fire show at the neighbour island but it requires a 20-30mins walk from Perhentian island. #awesomepic #perhentianisland
