Barbie life in the dream house Parma Baptistery帕爾馬粉紅教堂
You’ve seen Cathedrals, now you see it in pink 💕. Parma is a small town located around 2 hour train ride from Milan🚊. we went there for to stay the night before heading down to Cinque Terre. The Baptistery is used for baptism back in the days, with a special pool design 🌊. The exterior of the baptistery is definitely a spot you need to take pictures at,📸 while the interior you can probably skip to explore the charming atmosphere of the town instead.
The hotel is located right outside the train station, so you can book an early train to your next destination for cheaper💰. Enjoy a hot bath in the bathtub at the hotel, it’s pretty clean!

Searching for Correggio in Parma
It is the weekend in which the Italian F1 fans celebrate the 100 years of Monza. I was supposed to go there to celebrate with other Ferrari fans and to pray that the team does not screw up the race again with all kinds of technical failures.
Alas, being unable to beat the zeal, fervor and passion of the fans, I could not secure any tickets in time to indulge in this grand occasion. I would not be there physically but definitely in spirit.
The gathering of Tifosi in Lombardy definitely spiked up the price of accommodation in Milan.
Long story short, I ended up in Parma, tasting the best cheese (parmigiano reggiano) and enjoying melon with prosciutto crudo (Parma ham).
And a visit would be incomplete without including the admiration of Correggio’s paintings in your itinerary.
Wanting to enjoy free entrance, we only entered Parma Cathedral and San Giovanni Evangelista. Please do yourselves a favor and check out the opening hours, because they might be closed for riposo (the so-called siesta).

Beautiful city with great food
Parma is the perfect weekend getaway. It’s not too far away from Milan on the train. A city that’s beautiful to explore but more importantly, you can’t leave without trying the world-renowned cheese and ham! Bonus points if you manage to score some Culatello di Zibello, a specially cured meat with the a Protected Designated of Origin. It is only processed during the colder months and is aged for at least 10 months to an average of 14 months. The result? A mild, sweet and delicate flavor that you just can’t get enough of! I can’t wait to be back just so that I can get a tray of this. Given the strict compliance to achieve the D.O.P mark, it is also really hard to find so don’t miss the chance when you’re in the region! #parma #culatello #italianfood
Historical Cattedrale in Parma, Italy

My beautiful Parma 🇮🇹
#summerdestinations
Parma, Italy, truly stole my heart this summer! 🇮🇹 This charming city, nestled in the Emilia-Romagna region, is a hidden gem that every traveler should experience. Known for its rich history, incredible food, and vibrant cultural scene, Parma offers a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
The first thing that struck me was the city's elegant architecture. The Parma Cathedral and Baptistery are absolute must-sees, with stunning frescoes and intricate details that leave you in awe. Wandering through the old town, I felt like I was stepping back in time, surrounded by beautiful piazzas and centuries-old buildings. Entrance to the Cathedral is free, but the Baptistery costs around €8—well worth it for the incredible art inside.
Of course, you can't talk about Parma without mentioning the food! This city is a paradise for food lovers, especially if you're into cheese and ham. I indulged in the famous Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma at almost every meal. Don’t miss a visit to the local markets or a guided tour of a cheese factory—it’s an experience that delights all the senses.
Nearby, you can explore the beautiful Palazzo della Pilotta and Teatro Regio, which showcase Parma’s rich cultural heritage. The Parco Ducale is perfect for a leisurely stroll if you need a break from sightseeing.
Whether you’re here for the art, the food, or simply to soak in the Italian atmosphere, Parma is a city that will stay with you long after you leave. #trip #ParmaItaly #ItalianFoodie #CulturalJourney #HiddenGem #TravelItalia

The beautiful Parma Cathedral 🗺️
#timetotravel
The Parma Cathedral, or the Duomo di Parma, is an exquisite masterpiece of Romanesque architecture that left me in awe. Located in the heart of Parma, Italy, this cathedral is a testament to the skill and artistry of its builders.
As I entered the cathedral, I was immediately struck by the sense of grandeur and spirituality that fills the space. The intricate sculptures, stunning frescoes, and the beautiful rose window captivated my senses.
The highlight, however, was the stunning Baptistry adjacent to the cathedral, a true gem of medieval architecture. Its interior is adorned with breathtaking frescoes by the renowned artist Benedetto Antelami.
Visiting the Parma Cathedral is a must for anyone exploring this charming Italian city. It's a place that transports you to another era and leaves you with a deep appreciation for the beauty of religious art and architecture. #italy #parma

Parco Ducale & walk to Palazzo della Pilotta
I always love the European weather in September when it is sunny and yet not scorching hot.
You should definitely take a stroll in the park just across the river from the city after your sumptuous meal in this gastronomical city.
Not only will you will get to stretch out your limbs, you will also get to relax your eyes staring at the greenery after possibly a long day of museum visit.
Accordingly, this is a 1500s garden with many sculptures and a pond. If you bring along your kids, they can also run around and even rent a kids’ bike.
Try walking from West to East and then exiting the park to enter Palazzo della Pilotta. This is a great entrance to the old city of Parma! #bucketlistreboot
Most beautiful store in Parma
The most beautiful store in Parma! Store 333 showcases an amazing collection of cool and hip clothing brands including APC, Souer, Bellerose, and Veja as well as chic homewares from brands like Ferm Living! I would describe the aesthetic as a mix of laidback LA style with Scandinavian cool with a touch of Italian chic. I wished I could have bought everything from this store and would love to go back! The people there were also super nice and friendly. I can’t wait to be back in this stylish store! It’s also located on Borgo Giacomo Tommasini 12, 43121, Parma. Do check it out on your next visit in Parma! ❤️ #shopping #parma #store333
Delicious Chinese Food in Parma
I always love trying Chinese food while exploring Europe because you learn a lot about that particular country.
The restaurateur either sticks to the authentic taste of the food or tones it down to suit the European palates.
When it comes to the Chinese food in Italy, so far the taste is absolutely indifferentiable! Italians are the true foodies!
As per Sasha Wang from the blog “Cina in Tavola”, the famous Yangzhou fried rice is known as riso alla Cantonese (Cantonese fries rice) here in Italy. I always find that fascinating and I truly love food history.
Sorry I digressed, but the reason I always love eating fried rice in Italy is that they always taste amazingly delicious! My wife thinks that the secret ingredient might be that delicious Italian pancetta (salt-cured pork belly salume). I beg to differ and want to think it is because of guanciale (cured meat from pork cheeks).
So, it might just be me but my visit to Parma, the gastronomy city will not be complete if I never try out fried rice.
This is the one restaurant that I tried:
Address - Ristorante specialita cinese 青田风味, Via Monte Corno 4, 43122 Parma
Ambiance/Facilities - Authentic Chinese restaurant frequented by local Chinese people seeking to cure homesickness
Highlights - Fried rice with wok hei (aroma from the wok), la zi ji 辣子鸡(spicy chicken) in spicy dry pot and 回锅肉twice-cooked pork belly that trigger all my five senses, evoking all sorts of food memories
Price: Prawn fried rice for €5, spicy chicken for €7 and twice-cooked pork belly for €6
Rating - 10/10
Parma Ham and Cheese
This hotel has beautiful breakfast! Every Tuesday morning there is a street market!
Very historical place. First time visit and the design is very unique! #awesomepic
Milan stayed for a few days and felt that the Milanese people were more chaotic, so driving to the nearby cities, Palma is about an hour's drive from Milan, very convenient.
Traveling to Parma, finally had the opportunity to taste the Parma ham leg, chose the Osteria Scacco Matto Italian restaurant, and the local time for many locals.
1parma ham, Parma ham, legendary delicacies, flesh-colored pink, thin, with a strong smell of bacon, smooth fleshy, oily entrance, and red wine is great
2risotto, Italian rice, and mushroom sauce cooked Italian rice is also a classic Italian dish, the sauce has a thick cheese and mushroom flavor, the rice is not much better than the Chinese, but the mushroom juice is good to eat
3Ravioli, Italian dumplings, a bit like our dumplings, but flat and square, the skin is gear-shaped, the stuffing is spinach and cheese, cooked and sprinkled with cheese powder, the milk is full of fragrance.
Sophie's Italian travel notes
Italy Milan is about an hour drive to Palm City, the city of ham, the city is not as fashionable and classical as Milan, the city is not big and very old.
There is a beautiful Lombard-Roman style building with a minaret clock tower in the centre of Parma
