Tribute to a generation of poets
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
The house where the poet Miguel Hernández lived with his family is a must-see in Orihuela (Alicante).
The house, now declared a museum, is a typical humble house of the area from the early 20th century. It has a small terrace, a small pen, and inside are some photographs, furniture and personal items that were part of the daily life of one of the great literary figures of the 27th century.

The museum has an impressive collection including paintings, sculptures, goldwork, textiles and furniture
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
The museum is located in the Episcopal Palace, a 16th century building. The most important work in the museum’s collection is located inside the church: The Temptation of Saint Thomas Aquinas by Diego Velázquez. It also includes paintings from the Sánchez Coello and Juan de Juanes schools.
Among his sculptures, medieval works such as the 13th-century "Enthronement of the Virgin" are particularly noteworthy. The museum also houses an important collection of goldsmith's works, including pieces of Italian origin, such as Cardinal de Puig's chalice. It also houses textiles, manuscripts and ancient editions, such as the Nuremberg Chronicle from 1493.

Orihuela offers visitors a great place to enjoy the sea and the sun, a magnificent city centre
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
Wide expanses of sandy beach are mixed with small cliffs, making it ideal for fishing and scuba diving. In addition, the city has two beautiful marinas.
Punta Prima, Praia Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Dehesa de Campoamor are some of the tourist towns on this southern route. Three excellent golf courses are some of the main attractions. Small meadows dotted with trees provide the perfect setting for this sport.
Visiting this monumental city is imperative during your stay in the city. Its historical-artistic sites include five national monuments, and its urban layout is the result of its former role as a university centre and bishop's seat. We must highlight its two festive celebrations: the Holy Week processions in July and the processions of the Moors and Christians.

A forgotten and despised art district
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
A block filled with murals breathes life into a forgotten community. It is a shame that the neighborhood and surroundings have not been taken care of. They wanted to make the community visible through the mural, but they didn’t take care of it at all, so the proposal was still completed with a lack of sanitary conditions on the streets and adjacent vacant lots where a lot of people’s garbage was piled up. Orihuela city centre is less than 15 minutes’ walk away.
