#thingstodo Beautiful camping site by the Lake Kisaki-ko. Clean toilets are situated. It gets busy during summer holiday season, and spaces between the tents become too close. sometimes people whispering, talking, and shouting till late at night, but it is pretty much the same everywhere. Very cute cats are waiting for you at the reception.

Hakuba Valley Kashimayari Ski Resort

#thingstodo The ski resort is good for beginners as most of the slopes are easy and not too steep, though for the more challenging slopes they open later in the season because snow is infrequent in the early winter of Hakuba. There are plenty of parking spaces (which are free by the way) but as the resort is mostly catered to Japanese not too many people come so it’s more free and wide. January to March would be the best time to come as more courses are open.

Ogisawa Resthouse

#thingstodo This restaurant is located on the second floor of the bus stop bound for Kurobe Dam. There is only a paid parking lot, and it is 1000 yen regardless of the time. I came just to have lunch, so I didn't know what kind of place it was, so it ended up being an expensive lunch... I ordered char siu bowl and green onion cutlet bowl. This type of meal is automatically ordered when you buy a meal ticket. The char siu rice bowl was delicious with the char siu being soft and grilled. The green onion cutlet bowl has heaps of green onions on top and is drizzled with dashi soy sauce for a light taste. They seem to be famous for their dum curry, but they also have ramen and light meals. I would like to use it again when I go to Kurobe Dam.

Upon approaching the grounds, there is not much to suggest that there is a breathtaking garden inside the gates. We were completely stunned by the carefully crafted the garden, and yet when we felt we could no longer by stunned by its beauty, we still continued to be surprised at every turn. The building and the surrounding grounds is actually a factory for organic body care products, which you can purchase on the spot. I smelled so good after visiting that I practically wanted to eat myself. With workshops for making fragrances and a small cafe just outside the main building, it is a must hit for travellers in the Nagano area.
