Located in the Seto Inland Sea between Honshu and Shikoku, there are very few residents on the island. It is said that there are less than 200 people. I stayed at Ogijima for the whole morning and saw only a few people, but I loved the leisure and the lack of crowds. There are not too many cats on the island. I met about 3-4 cats in one morning. None of them are too close to each other, but they are very cute walking around all the time. There are several cafes on the island. #SunriseIzumo-Seto I rode it on March 2nd. The Sunrise is the last active sleeper express train, connecting Tokyo and Izumo City, and Tokyo and Takamatsu. (Seto runs to Kotohira on some days of the week) I rode in a private compartment called a single on this train. The private compartment isn't very spacious, but it's nicely decorated and comes with a shower room. (You need to purchase a shower card to use it) It also passes through stations such as Shin-Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya, so you can enjoy a different kind of train journey.

When you come to Oshima, it is recommended to take a look and feel some. Compared to the west The expanse of Hilo is very lively. I've always wanted to go island hopping in the Seto Inland Sea, so I took advantage of my trip to Takamatsu to plan a half-day itinerary. I boarded the Megijima and Ogijima route from Takamatsu Port. The islands are decorated with artworks from the Setouchi Triennale, which visitors can enjoy. The ferry ride from Takamatsu to Megijima and from Megijima to Ogijima both take about 20 minutes. Ogijima left a lasting impression on me. As soon as I arrived, I saw cats leisurely wandering around. Walking up past Toyotamahime Shrine, the alleys were filled with cats, some lounging around and others, more friendly, rubbing against visitors' legs for a pet. Remember to keep your noise down to avoid disturbing the residents. Megijima, also known as Onigashima, is themed around the Momotaro legend. The caves are decorated with demon statues and handmade monster pottery by elementary school students, linking the legend to the local culture and contributing to regional revitalization. Ogijima is located southeast of Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture and is known for its beautiful natural scenery and rich ecosystem. The island is particularly loved by people as a quiet and nature-rich place within Shodoshima. Surrounding the island are seas with high transparency, and the clear waters and beautiful coral reefs are one of the attractions. In addition, the waters around Ogijima have fast tidal currents, allowing for activities such as clamming and swimming. The land of Ogijima is also rich in attractions. In the central part of the island, lush mountains rise, allowing you to feel the breath of nature. There are also walking trails on the island, where you can enjoy forest bathing and trekking. You can spend a leisurely time searching for flowers that bloom in each season and wildlife. Furthermore, around Ogijima, there are traditional fishing villages and beautiful coasts, where you can experience the local culture and climate. You can also taste fresh seafood caught by local fishermen and enjoy local cuisine and ingredients. Ogijima is an ideal place for those who want to spend a quiet and peaceful time, as it is rich in nature but has few tourist and commercial facilities. Megijima and Ogijima are also known as the Shizojima and Shizojima Islands. Megujima has the nickname of Onigashima, but Mengijima does not. Ogijima is a small island full of human touch and wild cats. The best way to get to know an island in depth is of course to live on it. I chose to stay on Ogijima that night to see another side of Ogijima. Many travel guides to Setouchi recommend staying in Takamatsu and then visiting different islands every day to view art. However, many boat trips and exhibitions are only open from morning to dusk. Especially Megijima and Ogijima, two smaller islands that do not have many works of art. Art festival staff usually arrive on the island on the earliest flight at eight o'clock, followed by tourists, and a busy day on the island begins. I chose another way to visit Ogijima. As the afternoon boat arrived, I first dropped off my luggage at the B&B. It was almost three in the afternoon, and then I went on to visit the various art installations without stopping. Like many tourists, I followed the official route through the narrow alleys of Ogijima. Due to time constraints, I could only view the works in a hurry. It was a bit like collecting stamps in order to fill up my art festival passport. I didn't have much time to appreciate them carefully. All art installations close at 4:15 pm. I rushed to reach all the art works before they closed, but in the end I was unable to enter two or three of them. It was a bit of a lack, but that's the imperfection in life. As the volunteers left, the works in each room were also closed. Volunteers and tourists wait for the last flight to leave Ogijima at 5 o'clock. After five o'clock, the island returned to tranquility. There was no art festival, no tourists, and only dozens of residents left on the island. After enjoying the sunset, I returned to the dock and found several islanders sitting together drinking beer. They looked at me and of course recognized me as a tourist at first glance, so they said in a friendly manner, "Kon ni chi wa!" followed by a bunch of Japanese. Although I didn't understand them, they were all very friendly. When I got back to the B&B, I was extremely tired and planned to take a rest, but the B&B owner knocked on the door and said that it was time for dinner! The owner of the B&B is an octopus fisherman who specializes in catching and cooking octopuses. This seafood dinner is really amazing, with octopus rice, sashimi, snail meat, clam soup, and the most delicious secret fried fish! After traveling to two islands in one day, I was exhausted. This meal gave me a boost of energy! During dinner, the boss knew that I didn't understand Japanese, so he tried hard to find other Japanese who knew English or Chinese to tell me something. It turned out that he kept calling other Japanese in Japanese to tell me that the night view of the pier installation art "Soul of Ogijima" was very beautiful, and asked me to go take pictures, and said he could accompany me. The boss's kindness gave me strength even though I was extremely tired, and I followed him out of the dock. The next morning, after packing, the landlady had already prepared breakfast. At this time, the boss showed me his magazine interview. His octopus dishes were once introduced in the magazine. This is his lifelong career in Ogijima! After thanking the boss and his wife, we prepared to set off for the next island. When I left the B&B, the boss kept saying bye bye to me at the door, and every time I looked back he was still standing there. Japan Kagawa Setouchi Art Festival: Female Wood Island This female wooden island is also known as the ghost island, mainly because of the island's particularly famous attractions, Ghost Island Grand Cave. I listened to my trembling, until I saw the first ghost looking at me with a smile, I was relieved, this "ghost" is too cute! There are a lot of artworks on the island to see, from Takamatsu by boat for an hour to go ~ and there is a male wood island to go.

Good morning, the second day of the exhibition in the Seto Inland Sea~ I dont think I will go to Naoshima, which has a big pumpkin in the haystack. In fact, I am afraid that the festival people will not choose Naoshima Toshima. There was a particularly unpopular male wooden island and female wood island, so one person contracted an island, and only the cats who jumped to the side accompanied me. Several islands in the Seto Inland Sea were particularly desolate. Young people ran to work in Osaka, Osaka, leaving only the elderly to live on the island. In order to revitalize these islands, the Japanese government invited many artists to come here to create, so it became the most literary place in Japan.
