2024 Northern Quarter Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)
New York or Manchester
Manchester’s Northern Quarter has regularly been used a stand in for many Hollywood movies set in New York City such as Morbius.
This corner of the city has undergone a transformation and is now home to many independent and bohemian shops, bars and restaurants with some of the highlights including the concert venue Band on the Wall, a fantastic group of independent kitchens found at Mackie Mayor a Victorian market building and the street art that adorns the walls of many of the area’s buildings. #manchester #NQ
The Shack - nice restaurant in Manchester
Within the Northern Quarter in Manchester City centre, there are a number of different bars and restaurants and we recently visited one called Shack. The restaurant is very popular for brunch dishes served between 12 and 6. The restaurant is situated next to the Printworks complex and the Arndale Shopping Centre.
They have a big bar area with booths that have individual televisions at the end of the booth and they also have big screens showing sport. During the evening, they have a DJ with cocktails deals as well as having a full food menu during the day #mytravelhacks
Manchester’s Northern Quarter
#manchestertrip
Manchester is a city bustling with character, so much so that it even has designated areas for people expressing themselves. The Northern Quarter is a wondrous place to explore, this is where you’ll see Manchester’s true authenticity and character. The streets are small and interconnected, with graffiti covering most walls - this often represents something about Manchester and that part of the city.
The shops in Northern Quarter are equally as unique, these range from comic stores to cute quaint cafes.
For a true experience in Manchester, this is somewhere you should head!
