Noboribetsu Onsen is about an hour by train from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. The Hell Valley tour in Noboribetsu is grand in scale and has a different charm compared to Beppu Onsen! It's a strange sight to see water flowing like a river, but it's all hot spring water. Well, the tourist spots were great, but that's not why I fell in love with Noboribetsu! It's not just Noboribetsu, but the food in Hokkaido is delicious! The guesthouse I stayed at in Noboribetsu had a friendly owner, was close to the station, had cooking facilities, and there was a nearby co-op with super delicious and cheap seafood. I traveled with my college aged son to this hot spring town and stayed at this hotel which is located next to the bus depot. you can walk to the hell's valley or take a shuttle from bus depot. We also love the buffet dinner which offered a variety of food, including sushi, sashimi, desserts, ice-cream, etc. The room was comfortable and the stuff made the tatami when we went for dinner. We too JR train at 4.06pm from Sapporo to continue our journey to Hell Valley on 26th Dec 2022. There is a bus service in between Hell Valley and Noboribetsu JR Stn which takes around 20mins. Checked-in Takimoto Inn Hotel. It cost us around SGD150 per night. The main purpose to book this hotel is to enjoy their onsen both indoor and outdoor. There is an additional 300 yen fee for using their onsen. It was a unique experience in taking onsen. ☺️And yes, it was really relaxing. This is a quiet town and there is a few souvenir shops and restaurants that still open until 8pm. The next day, we walked around Hell Valley and enjoyed the last onsen in the hotel. Breakfast at Mahoroba was a nostalgic tourist hotel breakfast buffet. Sausages, onsen eggs, fruit, light cake, ochazuke and porridge! And bread. Noboribetsu Hell Valley is the largest spring in Noboribetsu Onsen. The mouth of the spring continuously spews sulfur-smelling water vapor. The lingering smoke and the steep terrain are quite consistent with people's imagination of hell, so it was named Hell Valley. , designated as a cultural heritage of Hokkaido, is a must-see attraction in Hokkaido. Noboribetsu Hell Valley is connected to the surrounding scenic spots in a ring. The total distance is about 4 kilometers. If you want to take beautiful photos while walking, it will take about two hours to complete. The locals have built a wooden boardwalk on the steep terrain of Noboribetsu Hell Valley, allowing tourists to leisurely go deep into the center of Hell Valley to enjoy the vast scenery. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to the end. In summer evenings, the wooden plank road in Noboribetsu Hell Valley is lit up and is called the "Wisp of Fire Road". The lights light up every time, adding a mysterious color to Hell Valley. Noboribetsu Jigokudani enjoys snow in winter and maple leaves in autumn. It has different scenery in four seasons and has its own flavor no matter what month it is. 1. From Sapporo to Noboribetsu Hell Valley Take the JR Suzuran or Hokuto to Noboribetsu, transfer to the Donan Bus to Noboribetsu Onsen, get off and walk there. ✰ Time: 85 minutes / Fee: 4580 yen. Take the highway hot spring bus from Sapporo Station to Noboribetsu Onsen, get off and walk to it. There is only one bus a day, departing at 13:40. ✰ Time: 110 minutes / Cost: 1,950 yen 2. From Hangguan to Noboribetsu Hell Valley Take the JR Super Hokuto in Hakodate to Noboribetsu, transfer to the Donan Bus to Noboribetsu Onsen, get off and walk there. ✰ Time: 170 minutes / Cost: 7260 yen 3. From New Chitose Airport to Noboribetsu Hell Valley From platform 66 of the New Chitose Airport International Bus Station, take the express bus Noboribetsu Onsen Airport to Noboribetsu Onsen, get off and walk there. ✰ Time: 65 minutes / Cost: 1,370 yen

Getting There - Bought a Noboribetsu Area pass and just take a JR train there. There’s direct bus to take you there from the station. Quite a breathtaking sight at Jigokudani and I feel like it’s a must to visit when you’re in Hokkaido. However, please take note that it’s quite dangerous to visit during winter as the slopes are slippery. Do not recommend to bring along elderly during winter. Day 3 - T JR TRAIN to Noboribetsu (7:30am, 8:30am) 2.45 hours - Super Hakuto - We took a taxi to Date Jidaimura Noboribetsu 登別伊達時代村 0900-1600 (Adults - 2900, Child - 1500) from Noboribetsu train station - not much to play here, but a different experience for me - We then checked in hotel, and walk out again to the Jigokudani (Hell Valley) 登別地獄谷, Walk around Noboribetsu Onsen dori Yuzawa Shrine 湯澤神社, 閻魔堂, - We had dinner buffet and onsen back in the hotel. Very nice hotel to recommend indeed Day 4 - After breakfast in the hotel, took a taxi to the train station and headed to Sapporo Station (as early as possible) - in Sapporo station, we look for the luggage locker to put our luggage and then headed to Yoichi Station - Yoichi - short walking distance to the Yoichi Nikka Distrillery - ニッカウヰスキー 北海道工場 余市蒸溜所, Japan, 〒046-0003 Hokkaido, 余市郡余市町黒川町7−６(with FREE sampling) and we had our lunch here. - after lunch, we took JR Train To Otaru Minami Station (the train to otaru is an hour apart, plan your time well to catch the train, always crowded here during winter), Walk along two rows of shops to Otaru Music Box Museum Main Building 小樽オルゴール堂, Marchen Square, Le Tao Main store (cheese tart), 小樽 水天宮, Kitaichi Glass Otaru（北一硝子), Yukijirushi Parlor Otaru Shop 雪印パーラー 小樽店 (ice cream), Otaru Canal 小樽運河 (night view) - JR Train from Otaru Station to Sapporo (every 30 mins)

We have a quick meal at the family mart and headed to Hakodate. 9:45am JR TRAIN to Sapporo → Hakodate stations 4 hours journey. - Checked in Hotel, late lunch at Lucky Pierrot Bay Area Main Shop ラッキーピエロ ベイエリア本店 and walked to Motomachi Park 元町公園, Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward 旧函館区公会堂 (CLOSED, but see outside), Hachiman-saka Slope 八幡坂 (the slope see the view to the sea), Higashi Honganji Temple, Hakodate Russian Orthodox Church (use google maps, is walkable) - then to go up to Mt. Hakodate Observation Deck 函館山展望台 (Hakodate Night View) - round trip (Adults - 1280, Child - 640) Day 2 - - Visit the Hakodate Asaichi (Morning Market) 函館朝市 (Brunch/Breakfast) - i had a bowl of raw fish rice! too early for my stomach :P - walk to Ferry Memorial Ship Mashu-maru Museum 0900-1600 函館市青函連絡船記念館摩周丸 (Adults - 500, Child - 250) - Visit Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse - see the shops - Tram to Goryōkaku 特別史跡五稜郭跡 (Adults - 900, Child - 450) - we waited from late after to evening, just to see the sunset :) - Tram to Hakodate BeerHall, Japan, 〒040-0053 Hokkaido, Hakodate, 末広町14番12号 for dinner #celebratewithtrip

#2023Travel wish If you like marine life, don’t miss this attraction. Its features are as follows: 1) The castle at the main entrance has a Nordic style, and inside is an aquarium, displaying different types of marine life. 2) There are penguins parading in the outdoor space in front of the door. You can see them walking left and right, which is very cute and interesting. 3) There is a transparent circular water tank for seals to swim through in a streamlined manner and greet tourists.
