Noboribetsu Jigokudani in Winter
The crater formed by volcanic activity looks like 'Hell where demons live,' hence the name Jigokudani (Hell Valley). It's a rare sight where the demon at the entrance is covered in snow, but there is no snow at the bottom of the valley, while the mountains are snow-covered. When it snows, the town turns completely white in an instant, so make sure to prepare for the snow with boots and coats before enjoying the snowy Noboribetsu Onsen.

Noboribetsu Onsen
When you reach Hokkaido, don't miss the chance to soak in one of Japan's best hot springs located here. It is rich in various minerals. Noboribetsu is a small town situated between Sapporo and Hakodate, making it a convenient stopover during your travels. There are many accommodation options to choose from, and it's recommended to stay at a place adjacent to the hot springs. Additionally, the town has a bear park that children can enjoy.
A Summer Story of Falling in Love with Noboribetsu, Hokkaido
Noboribetsu Onsen is about an hour by train from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.
The Hell Valley tour in Noboribetsu is grand in scale and has a different charm compared to Beppu Onsen!
It's a strange sight to see water flowing like a river, but it's all hot spring water.
Well, the tourist spots were great, but that's not why I fell in love with Noboribetsu!
It's not just Noboribetsu, but the food in Hokkaido is delicious!
The guesthouse I stayed at in Noboribetsu had a friendly owner, was close to the station, had cooking facilities, and there was a nearby co-op with super delicious and cheap seafood. I fell in love with the everyday life packed with such experiences in Noboribetsu.
It's these special encounters that make me love traveling.

Noboreibitsu Volcanic Crater, Hokkaido 🇯🇵
#wheretogo
Jigokudani is a must-visit in Noboreibitsu Hokkaido Japan! It is a phenomenal volcanic crater valley with thermal waters and amazing hot springs.
Marvel at the orange and yellow volcanic rock landscape and experience a one-in-a-lifetime visit to this valley.
It was a wonderful experience for me and I will be back!
Location:

My rating of this attraction: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!
Best Onsen at Jigokudani Hell Valley
We too JR train at 4.06pm from Sapporo to continue our journey to Hell Valley on 26th Dec 2022. There is a bus service in between Hell Valley and Noboribetsu JR Stn which takes around 20mins.
Checked-in Takimoto Inn Hotel. It cost us around SGD150 per night. The main purpose to book this hotel is to enjoy their onsen both indoor and outdoor. There is an additional 300 yen fee for using their onsen. It was a unique experience in taking onsen. ☺️And yes, it was really relaxing.
This is a quiet town and there is a few souvenir shops and restaurants that still open until 8pm.
The next day, we walked around Hell Valley and enjoyed the last onsen in the hotel. I really like my hotel stay and enjoyed the onsen as well as the morning walk around the Jigokudani Hell Valley. I think I will come back again!#Jigokudani #Hell valley #noboribetsu
Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley)
Getting There - Bought a Noboribetsu Area pass and just take a JR train there. There’s direct bus to take you there from the station.
Quite a breathtaking sight at Jigokudani and I feel like it’s a must to visit when you’re in Hokkaido. However, please take note that it’s quite dangerous to visit during winter as the slopes are slippery. Do not recommend to bring along elderly during winter. There’s also some restaurant and a bear park nearby for you to visit after visiting Jigokudani. 👍🏻

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our road trip. The spacious Japanese-style rooms. At the cleanliness - everywhere there was nothing to fault.
The onsen is good with indoor and outdoor, remember to book the buffet dinner together, or else can hv a ala carte dinner at one of their restaurants
Staffs are very kind and friendly. Buffet is good. Hot spa is great.
Highly recommended !!

Natural Onsen Foot Spa in Hokkaido
We came to the Oyunuma Natural Foot Bath after walking through some of the trails in Jigokudani (Hell’s Valley). The foot bath came about from the overflow of hot spring water from Oyunuma Pond.
The 40 degrees warm water was a welcome respite on our tired feet after a long morning of walking. Best part, it’s free! They provide some mats for people to sit on as the platform is wet, so put them back after use. Also, do remember to pack a towel if you plan to visit here. We forgot and had to let our feet dry off in the cold before continuing on.
It was amazing to have experienced this relaxing onsen foot spa while soaking up the atmosphere of the forest. Definately worth a visit!

2. These couple statues can help your love life. Take a photo here if you want to give your love life a boost!
3. A statue for health and happiness in front of the public baths.
4. A demon at the geyser in Sengen Park. It blows every 3 hours or so.

Jigokudani or Hell Valley at Noboribetsu
This is for me a must go place if you like hiking and exploring a big park. A lot of walking is required and there are many trails to explore . Steam coming out from every place and during winter a hot and cold weather at the same time , syok.
Very insightful view of Oyunuma, a sulfurous pond with a surface temperature of 50 degrees Celsius and a smaller, even hotter, mud pond nearby. No , can’t go down there .
Oyunumagawa. With steam seeing, the river flows through the forest, wonderful sight. It is possible to follow the river for several hundred meters and enjoy a natural foot bath (ashiyu) along the way.#bucketlistreboot #MustDo
Noboribetsu City
The town has a range of onsen for bathing as well as other hot springs formed from different minerals for scenic viewing, and is also known for its bear park. Noboribetsu-onsen is one of many well-known resorts in Japan, with many hotels and ryokan, and is the largest "hot spring town" in Hokkaido.
During winter times, crowded with local. The specialty about the street was it has many shrines. you can walk around and see at different drains, there are hot air surrounding the area .
Noboribetsu is located on the JR Muroran Line between Oshamambe and Tomakomai
I suggested to maximise Jr Pass . The route can be from Sapporo to Noboribetsu then Hakodate , which complete the perfect onsen relaxation

Noboribetsu, Hokkaido: This is a natural hotspting place that you can have a smell of Sulfur all the time. The color of maountsin wiih snow looks nice snd strange which make yhis place differnt from others. We have to walk on the walkway that they provide to see the view.
Speaking of "Hell", the thought may be horrible. In fact, this is a crater relic. In the winter, it is black, white and gray. It looks a bit bleak. But definitely worth walking in person.
[Hokkaido must punch card - Hell Valley with Danxia landform]
At first glance, I thought it was the Danxia landform. I thought it was a Tibetan area, but when I looked carefully, I found that it was totally different. Most of the area there is not a lot of grass, if you can smell some sulphur smell on the spot.
This is the Hell Valley of Noboribetsu. Don't miss this place in Hokkaido. Visiting the Hell Valley during the day and soaking up the sulphur hot springs at the Spa Hotel in the evening is a very special experience.
This is actually a strange landform formed by the eruption of the volcano. Now you can still see the natural sulfur hot spring in the river. Going deep into Hell Valley, you can walk to a special open-air bathing place. If you don't live in a hot spring hotel, you may be in the mountains.
Den's hell Valley
Address: Noboribetsu Onsen, Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, Hokkaido, Japan /HH/Tickets: No
tip: There is a special ghost fire in the evening of June every year. Performance
Hell Valley is truly worthy of the name, so nature is the most powerful workmanship, as if the master paintings are generally far from the atmosphere of hell. Walking along the boardwalk to the center of the scenic spot, I smelled a sulphur smell from the air. The hot air of the smoke rushed out from the ground. It is actually a crater. It can be seen that the surrounding stones are eroded into A variety of colors, really is not like the human scene.
Transportation: Take the bus from the gate of the No. 2 JR station to the Noboribetsu hot spring town for about 20 minutes. In addition to the traditional ticket vending machine, you can now buy the ticket on the WeChat scan code, great!
There is a Hell Valley in Hokkaido, Japan. The valley is full of grass and white smoke, and there is a strong and pungent smell of sulphur. It is like a mysterious and strange scene in hell. In fact, this is the remains of the crater at the time of the volcanic eruption 10,000 years ago. There are still many springs that have been boiling all the year round. The unique volcanic landscape makes the entire valley filled with a chilling atmosphere. Although it is like hell in the valley, the spring water flowing out is a hot spring with special curative effect. It is the largest hot spring source in Noboribetsu and one of the rare hot springs in the world. According to the different springs, the water quality of the hot springs is different. There are many varieties and there are department stores in the hot springs. This is also a popular highlight of the Noboribetsu hot springs.
The local culture of hell is the ultimate. There are all kinds of ghost statues everywhere in the streets and alleys. Occasionally there are also , , and even a street called Ghost Street. Hell ghosts and themed gift shops, izakaya, etc., even souvenirs, and even the men's and women's logos in the bathroom are ghost-themed, especially interesting.
