St Catherine’s Oratory, although not hidden, is a little visited gem on the Isle of Wight. Originally built in the 1300’s by a lord as punishment for benefitting from the pirating of stolen church wine, it now stands over the island with the most stunning views. Only a 400m walk to the point (although uphill) will take you to breathtaking views of the whole island, with the treat of an ice cream van at the bottom!
