Other historic and cultural sites that draw people’s attention include the Three Ancient Burial Mounds (三陵古墓群), the Qing-era Great Stone Bridge (清代大石桥), and Xinglong Temple.

Located in Ning'an City, Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, it is the largest alpine barrier lake in China and the second largest in the world. The scenic area is mainly composed of lakes and mountains, as well as geological wonders such as underground forests and lava tunnels. The mountains and rivers are beautiful, the scenery is charming, the vegetation on the lakeside is lush, the greenery is full of vitality, and the air is fresh, making people feel relaxed and happy. Here you can enjoy the waterfall scenery, which is very spectacular. There are also some leisure and entertainment facilities and activities around, such as fishing and camping. Summer is the best time to travel, with an average temperature of about 17°C from June to September. It is cool and refreshing, and is a famous tourist, summer resort, and health resort in China.

You can choose to take a plane to Mudanjiang Airport, and then transfer to other means of transportation to Jingpo Lake;

Jingpo Lake Travel Guide
Jingpo Lake is located in the southwest of Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. It is the largest volcanic barrier lake in China and the second largest in the world. The lake has an average depth of about 40 meters. The water is clear and rippling. It is recommended to take a cruise to enjoy the scenery. You can see Mao Gong Mountain, Dao Tu Mountain, Zhenhu Building Long Corridor, Big Fox Mountain, Little Fox Mountain, and other attractions. While on the cruise, you can see fish swimming freely in the lake and the Zhangguangcai Mountains in the distance. Enjoy the fresh air and happy times.
After the cruise, head to Diaoshuilou Waterfall. If the water volume is sufficient, the waterfall can be 300 meters wide with a drop of more than 20 meters. Taking a photo in front of the waterfall is a must for every tourist. The waterfall is magnificent and spectacular.

Visit Xuanwu Lake and explore the ancient city wall of Nanjing. The first spot to visit when coming to Nanjing is the ancient city wall from the Ming dynasty. Right below the city wall is Xuanwu Lake, one of the three famous lakes in the south of the Yangtze River. Historically, the area around the ancient Xuanwu Lake was the most suitable living space in Nanjing. Xuanwu Lake is a shallow lake, a remnant of the ancient Qinhuai River channel of the Yangtze River, and is the 'heart' of Nanjing's urban water system.
The Nanjing city wall is the largest brick city wall in the history of Chinese city walls and is one of the longest, largest, and most authentic brick and stone structure city walls in the world. Walking here, you can feel the footsteps of history.

The scenic area has a 27km road, so the shuttle service in the park is a must-buy. Children under 1.2 meters ride for free, while seniors and other people have to buy tickets just like everyone else, with no other discounts available.
Follow the shuttle stops along the way to explore.
The first stop is the lava cave, which is quite cold, so it's best to wear long pants and bring a jacket. The cave formed by the flow of lava still has water seeping through, with a few stalactites already formed. However, the main attraction is not the stalactites, but the traces formed by the different shapes and postures of the flowing magma, which are very interesting. Be sure to stop and read the explanations, and look for the traces on the walls, it's very intuitive👍
The second stop features three caves, formed by lava tunnels. Walking through the primeval forest is very pleasant. It's slightly cold near the cave entrance, but there's no need for extra clothing.
The third and final stop is the underground forest. It's a 3-4 kilometer trek, with some climbing, and it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete the loop. From here, you can overlook the third volcanic crater. You don't have to follow the original shuttle for this stop; there's a shuttle every half hour, so you can take whichever one you catch.
It's a trip well worth it! Saw many landscapes that are hard to come by normally.

The drive from Mudanjiang all the way to the park is all about the 'style towards the clouds', and it really opens up your heart!
Also, the navigation stubbornly wanted to direct a nearly four-hour journey, not allowing the use of the highway, mainly because there's a section of about ten meters under construction... The navigation thinks it's impassable and insists on taking a detour. The solution is to navigate to the Jingpo Lake Scenic Area, which is all highway. After reaching Jingpo Lake Scenic Area, continue forward towards the Volcano Crater Forest Park. You'll get there!

Jingpo Lake is the largest highland barrier lake in China and the second largest in the world, located on the mainstream of the Mudan River, a tributary of the Songhua River, in the southwestern part of Ning'an City, Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province, China, 100 kilometers from Mudanjiang, at an altitude of 351 meters. The average depth of the lake is 40 meters. The general water level is at its highest at 353.65 meters and at its lowest at 345.61 meters throughout the year, with an average annual flow rate of 9.2 to 10 cubic meters per second, and a storage capacity of 1.625 billion cubic meters. The most famous attraction is the Diaojiaolou Waterfall. It is a renowned tourist destination, a summer retreat, and a health resort, a national model of civilized scenic tourism area, a national key scenic spot, an international ecological tourism resort for summer vacations, and a world geopark.
When the Earth was still very young, the area around Jingpo Lake was full of mischievous babies, with more than a dozen volcanoes erupting day and night. After millions of years of the Hengluan Era, it finally took on the appearance we see today. The Jingpo Lake, stretching over 100 kilometers, is now the world's largest lava-dammed lake, with several volcanic craters becoming underground forests, as well as underground lava tunnels, and dozens of wetlands and ponds, with 95% of the land covered by forest vegetation.

Small Tips:
1. The water volume of Diaoshuilou is one of the important indicators that directly affect the viewing experience. If you go after the rain, the effect will be much better than after several sunny days. The Diaoshuilou Waterfall during the dry season feels rather miniature and cannot be considered a grand work. Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention to the weather conditions when you go to play.
2. The entire Jingpo Lake area is very large, and it is almost impossible to finish it in one day. It is most scientific to choose key areas for sightseeing. Personally, I recommend the hundred-mile-long lake and Diaoshuilou Waterfall.
