Genghis Khan Hitching Post Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
If you think the white cliffs of England are too far away, then head to Hulunbuir for a trip
It was not until I visited Hulunbuir myself that I truly witnessed the end of the grassland being the sea, with a sense of magic that transcends reality, as if stepping into the world of Zelda.
Hulunbuir is not only home to the endless grasslands, herds of cattle and sheep, and galloping horses, but also skies like those in Miyazaki's anime, and you can even see the sea at the end of the grassland.
📍Genghis Khan Horse-Tying Post
🚗 1.5 hours' drive from Manzhouli
☁️ It is recommended to visit on a sunny day for better photography, as the effect on a cloudy day can be poor.
🐑 Hulunbuir travel itinerary: Hailar —— Morin Dawa —— Ergun Wetland —— Enhe Rear Mountain —— Shiwei Border —— Heishantou —— Manzhouli —— Genghis Khan Horse-Tying Post —— Return trip.
🐎 8 must-do things in Hulunbuir:
1⃣️ Head to Heishantou, stay in a Mongolian yurt, and experience the authentic Mongolian culture.
2⃣️ Taste an authentic roasted whole lamb.
3⃣️ Visit a herdsman, experience the joy of archery and feeding lambs.
4⃣️ Enjoy an authentic Russian meal in Manzhouli.
5⃣️ Take a ride on the grassland train.

On this prairie sea, I captured the photo of my life
On this prairie sea, I captured the photo of my life‼️
This is not the White Cliffs of Dover in England
Nor is it a comic
And it's definitely not AI-generated‼️
This is the real 'ocean' of Hulunbuir that exists in reality
On this prairie
It's as if following Captain Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean⛵️
I've come to the end of the world
The difference is that the edge here is an endless expanse of grassland
·
Right on the western shore of Lake Hulun in Hulunbuir
In this place tens of kilometers away from the city district
The cliffs surrounded by water on three sides
I've arrived at the world's end of my dreams
If you have a drone
You could capture the amazing scene where the 'sea'🌊 meets the grassland
·
📍Genghis Khan's Horse Tethering Post
🚗Transportation: Self-drive from Hailar or Manzhouli
·
📸Photography tips:
-It's best to arrive around three or four in the afternoon for the best lighting
-You can take a photo with the grassland and the 'sea' from the viewing platform
-You can also take photos on the sandy beach and the small hillsides, wear comfortable clothes👗 to fully relax
·
It is said that this place is named after Genghis Khan once trained his troops and horses🐎 here, standing on the same prairie as Genghis Khan is also a kind of fate
Here, you can see the most beautiful twilight and sunset🌅
It can be said that a visit here leaves no regrets in life
Where to go for a holiday? Genghis Khan's horse tethering post
Genghis Khan's horse tethering post
📍Detailed address:
Located on the west bank of Hulun Lake, 38 kilometers northeast of the town center, and 88 kilometers from Manzhouli City, it is a cliff surrounded by water on three sides.
🌟Highlights:
To the south, there is a lake of clear water, with steep and rugged cliffs, smooth as if cut by a knife; to the north and east, there are steep slopes leading down to the bay; only the west side has a gentle slope that connects to the lakeshore. On the top of the mountain, there is a pavilion, and in the lake water about 10 meters to the east of the cliff, there stands an irregularly shaped columnar stone about 10 meters high and with a circumference of about 20 meters. The stone is irregular in shape, thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom, with striations crisscrossing. Bird nests are built in the crevices of the stone, and from time to time, water birds fly out and circle over the lake.
Stop asking, it's not the White Cliffs of Dover!! It's in Inner Mongolia!
Many people's first impression would definitely be that this is the White Cliffs of Dover.
No, it's in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia!
The end of the grassland is the sea.
Even in autumn, when the grass turns yellow, this place is still stunning!

Hulunhu Tourism Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
We walked all the way to Hulun Lake. My eyes moved with the scenery outside the window, and I couldn't move my eyes until I saw the windmill in the distance.
Originally, Inner Mongolia relied on windmills to generate electricity. There is a very beautiful windmill road here! We can't wait to let the six brothers stop the car and find a beautiful high point. Here is a group of photos~
a cool wind blowing, the windmill in the distance is constantly turning, this The picture reminds me of Hokkaido.
Originally, I have such a neglected niche in China! Going to Hokkaido, to Hulunbeier, one-time get the beauty of Hokkaido, Australia, New Zealand~
Hulun Lake, the fifth largest freshwater lake in China and the largest lake in Inner Mongolia, is here. Hulun Lake is called Dahu Lake. Because it is located in the Hailar area of Hulunbeier, it is referred to as Hulun Lake by future generations. The lake is very large, and the whole impression is quite similar to Qinghai Lake in Qinghai Province.
Daban Lake has the same spiritual symbolic power as the Qinghai Lake. Dahu Lake is the holy lake of the Mongolian people. The locals still care about the environment, and the scenery on the lake depends on the weather. When the sky is clear, you can see the beautiful lake landscape, which is very spectacular. The scenery of
Dahu Lake is also very suitable for travel, because the integration of the whole lake and the sun is very good, and the visibility here is also good. The background environment is also suitable for human skin and overall image, so Dahu Lake is very suitable for travel and even wedding photography.
Daban Lake as the national nature reserve was first launched in 1986, and was promoted to a national nature reserve in 1992. In 1994, it was incorporated into the GMR Daur International Nature Reserve. Enter the list of international key wetlands and be accepted as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Daban Lake is closer to Hulunbeier City. It is recommended to be the last stop to play. Therefore, Yamano was passing by here when he was about to end his journey on the last day. Daban Lake charges 40 yuan, and currently only tickets can be paid on site.
Ergun Wetlands Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Help, my life should be wasted in such a place
Help, 🆘 I've been to Hulunbuir so many times
This is the first time I've discovered this fairy-tale niche!
I always visit Erguna
But it's the first time I've been to the back hills of Erguna
Who would understand!! It really feels super like Tuscany!!
.
Before coming here, my friend had recommended this secret place to me
After showing the photos to the chartered car leader, he quickly identified the destination
Driving into the grasslands and back hills
It soon became a completely different world
From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire Erguna wetland
Herds of cattle and sheep graze leisurely on the slopes, against the sky and beneath the white clouds
It's dreamy and romantic, almost unreal!
I was only planning to stay here for an hour or two
But I actually stayed here for the entire afternoon
Until I watched the sunset and left reluctantly
.
On the hillside, swinging in the breeze, swinging on a swing
Looking at the blue sky, white clouds, wetlands, forests, cattle, and sheep
I spent the afternoon daydreaming here
My life should be wasted in such a place 😭
Highly recommended! You must go to Daxinganling and Mohe this National Day
Highly recommended! You must go to Daxinganling and Mohe this National Day
If you head north from Daxinganling
Passing through Hulunbuir, Eerguna River, Mohe
You will see the earliest and most enthusiastic autumn colors in the country
Along the way, the forests are all dyed, grasslands, wetlands, forests
And the "crowd" completely disappears in this road trip
The vast autumn color of 763,000 square kilometers
The passenger flow only accounts for 1/20 of the entire northeast
Don't want to miss the fleeting autumn in the north?
Then why not set off with us
Best viewing period: early September-early October
Passionate but short, only 3-4 weeks of autumn viewing period a year!
Traffic suggestion: All over the country→Hailar, the ticket price in September is as low as 6-7 discount!

🌳Eergu’Na Wetlands in INNER MONGOLIA
While visiting Inner Mongolia, you have the chance to experience China’s biggest wetland area in Erguna. It is also, like pretty much everything else in China, the first known wetland in Asia.
This area is a National Park and has great infrastructure all the way around. At the entry and exit point, you will find yourself surrounded by little gift and snack shops, but they are a bit more pricey since it’s a tourist area.
With a large and well built boardwalk, you can go from one side to the other, and also go down the hill a bit into the wetlands. However, you cannot actually reach any parts of the river. From the top, the contrasting view between the city and vast green landscape makes for great pictures, and complement the scenery in a beautiful way.
At the end of the boardwalk, you will find a small museum which displays the multiple flora and fauna found in the wetlands. Some parts are interactive, so it’ll be a great break for the kids! There is also an exclusive gift shop inside with plush animals and other unique items from Inner Mongolia.

What kind of experience is it in the yurt weekend? Unlock the summer new experience
on the second night of the Hulun Buir grassland, my mother and I live in the yurt. This is probably the easiest house to build in the world: in the old days, it consisted of skylights, wood poles and walls, in a three-stage structure. High and small size, freely retractable, no burden to relocate.
Now, a few hundred years have passed, "When you are a room, the felt is a wall, and the meat is used as a pulp for the meat." Inner Mongolia has rarely seen the original residence. More, it is a "imitation" made of brick and tile cement.
Fortunately, where we live, there are still traces of authentic life. For example, open the skylight to see the stars, ride the gallops on the prairie, and around the campfire, come to a local dance party.
Tips: By the end of July to the beginning of September, the accommodation experience of the yurt is in short supply. If you are interested in living here, be sure to book in advance, per capita 200 ~ 350 yuan / night. After dinner, you can take part in some local experiences, such as wrestling contests, milking, night star watching, and more.

📝Travel tips:
① The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, and there may be showers, so it is recommended to bring a thick windproof and warm coat
② The ultraviolet rays are very strong, in addition to sunscreen, remember to choose a straw hat with a strap, because the wind is really strong
③ The signal is very unstable, and some mountain tops and grasslands may be fenced off by local herders, and wild scenic spots cannot be found, following the old brand guide 🚩 is not only safe but also more fun
④ The mutton on the prairie is really delicious, friends who are prone to 🔥 are advised to bring some heat-clearing medicine, like on the third day I started to get mouth ulcers
If the White Cliffs of Dover are too far away, consider a trip to Hulunbuir
Hulunbuir is so unrealistically beautiful😭
The end of the sea turns out to be the grassland, the freedom
It's the computer desktop that you don't want to face when going to work
To see with your own eyes the wallpaper full of greenery under the white clouds🍃

It's not as crowded as Altay in June and July
Lying in the fields of mountain flowers stretching lazily🌼
Herding sheep with the herdsmen and letting go of the emptiness🐑
Feeding deer, riding horses, and traveling the world with your loved one~
Hulunbuir makes one slow down completely
-
✈️About transportation:
Fly directly to Hailar Airport, the scenic spots on the grassland are far apart,
The signal is often lost on the road, for those who are not familiar with the road conditions, I recommend chartering a car and finding a leader to drive for a more relaxed and safe journey, we went to many less popular scenic spots, the scenery is super beautiful, and there are no people
-

A Comprehensive Guide to Taking Kids to Hulunbuir During Summer Vacation
Get up close and personal with nature
🎉🎉Just back from Hulunbuir, where the blue sky, white clouds, and green grasslands create a picturesque scene with cattle and sheep grazing as the wind blows. July and August are the most beautiful months for the grasslands. For a summer vacation with kids, Hulunbuir is definitely an ideal destination! 🎉🎉
🚗🚗About the way to travel: Generally, it involves chartered cars, self-driving, or joining a tour group. For first-timers, I recommend hiring a local guide with a car. There are several reasons: many places on the grassland have no signal, and only local drivers know the way; compared to the fixed schedule of bus tours, chartered cars offer more freedom for kids, stop whenever you want, and do whatever you want to do.
🌈🌈Recommended itinerary:
D1: ✈Arrive at Hailar Airport—Rest at hotel—Taste local cuisine
D2: Hailar—Grassland crossing—Morigele River—Ergun (Asia's largest wetland)
D3: Ergun—Birch Forest—Enhe Russian Ethnic Township—Shiwei (feed reindeer, river cruise)
D4: Shiwei—K-line (China-Russia border highway)—Heishantou (horse riding, milking cows, feeding lambs)
D5: Heishantou—Zhalainuoer Museum—Mammoth Park—Matryoshka Square (Manzhouli)
D6 Manzhouli—National Gate Scenic Area—Hulun Lake—Home
🔥🔥Activities kids must experience:
1⃣ Horse riding on the grassland, feeling the thrill of galloping. 2⃣ Milking cows, getting up close with the grassland life, and feeling the charm of dairy cows. 3⃣ Feeding lambs, interacting closely with small animals, kids will definitely love it. 4⃣ Staying in a Mongolian yurt, experiencing the life of grassland herders, and feeling a different charm. 5⃣ Checking in at the Matryoshka hotel, enjoying the Russian style. 6⃣ Grass sliding, experiencing the exciting and fun activity on the grassland.
🍔🍔About food: The cuisine of Hulunbuir is also a highlight. Don't worry about kids not being used to the food, they will really enjoy the hearty meals there! The beef and mutton are so delicious, and you can also experience authentic Russian cuisine in Manzhouli.
👗👗About clothing: The temperature difference between morning and evening on the grassland is significant, so it's advisable to bring a windbreaker. You can wear normal short-sleeved T-shirts at noon, and sunscreen is also very important!
Overall, this trip offered a glimpse of the grasslands and forests, an experience of the herders' life on the grassland, and a taste of exotic cultures, truly a fulfilling experience!

🔥Hulunbuir Delicacies
🌟 Whole Roasted Lamb: A centuries-old Inner Mongolian traditional delicacy, historically served to honor distinguished guests from afar.
🌟 Hand-grabbed Meat: Made from mutton, named for the large chunks of meat that are torn by hand when eating, it has a distinctive ethnic flavor and is deliciously rich.
🌟 Grilled Beef and Mutton Skewers: The meat is firm and flavorful, and Inner Mongolian mutton does not have a gamey taste, just grill and flaunt it.
🌟 Inner Mongolian Milk Tea: Made by boiling milk tea with ingredients like beefsteak, minced meat, cheese, and dried meat, all simmered together.
🏞 Accommodation Guide
⭕️ Hailar Accommodation
If you are traveling independently, it is recommended to stay near the Hailar train station. This makes travel convenient, as it is easy and inexpensive to take a taxi within the city.
⭕️ Manzhouli Accommodation
Hotels in the Manzhouli city area are a bit old. The Matryoshka Hotel is not really recommended during the peak tourist season, as it's too expensive and not cost-effective. It is suggested to choose a Russian-style hotel for a good experience at a reasonable price.
⭕️ Heishantou Accommodation
Heishantou is mainly Mongolian yurts. When booking, make sure to compare prices, as they can vary greatly. Definitely book in advance during the peak season.
⭕️ Shiwei Accommodation
Shiwei accommodations are typically wooden houses, with generally basic conditions but quite characteristic.
✈️ Transportation Guide
① Hailar Dongshan Airport: 13 kilometers from the city center, a 10-minute airport shuttle ride will get you to the city, and it departs as soon as it's full, which is very convenient.
② Manzhouli West Suburb Airport: Manzhouli Airport does not have an airport shuttle, and taxis generally do not use meters. The one-way fare between the airport and the city center ranges from 30 to 50 yuan.
③ Hailar Railway Station: You can choose to first take a train or plane to Harbin or Beijing, and then from Beijing or Harbin take a train to Hailar.
This is really China! It's like a fairy tale world's border town is too wow

🟡There is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below, but Manzhouli's lights are more brilliant
-
The above sentence describes Manzhouli. The local driver proudly told us this sentence. Indeed, as a small border town at the junction of Mongolia, Russia and China, it is quiet and leisurely with few people, but the architecture is very beautiful. I think it is a must-visit city when you go to Inner Mongolia.
-
🟡Super dreamy, satisfying all your childlike innocence
-
The whole Matryoshka Square and Mammoth Park in Manzhouli, just these two attractions, are enough to satisfy your imagination of the fairy tale world.
