#newyearadventure #vianasjourney This place is a national museum of natural history and research centre on biodiversity. Plenty of exotic animals from all around the world. Place was quite big with few levels, and during winter time, you can store your coat inside the storage room and there’s a locker for your belongings as well. The most interesting part for me was to view the massive dinasour skeleton and to view (from a pair of binoculars that you have to look inside) the landscape of Nederland with mammoth lived in it many years ago. While my partner really enjoy the unique exhibition (animal’s private part) on the highest level where you can also play games like guiding a sperm to the egg. You have to experience it yourself.

Strolling around Amsterdam

Getting There - Journey from Leerdam was about an hour and quater. Took a bus to Utrecth and from there took a train to Amsterdam station. It’s a small city, so you cant missed the city centre from there. Attractions - colourful building, modern lifestyle, varieties of local and foreign restaurant, Tony’s chocoloney, tulips, and canal, Anne Frank House. Food & Restaurants - Had our lunch at a Greek Steakhouse and ‘hightea’ from the hotdog cart on the street. De Valuwe, Nature Area

Getting There - Drove by car approximately 45 minutes from Leerdam. Attractions - Nature area, wild animal, walking and cycling path. During spring, most of the area will covered in purplish flowers and it will looks stunning then. I would totally recommend to visit during spring. Food & Restaurant - This nature area are a bit far from restaurants and shops. But as I walked along the road, I saw a small restaurant with the deer head on it’s door. How to get to Leiden: Leiden is only 40-minutes away from Amsterdam if you go by train, making it the perfect outing for a day trip or a weekend. One way ticket from Amsterdam Centraal to Leiden Centraal would cost 9,60 EUR. The city center itself is quite small, with everything in walkable distance. However, there is a special bus line that runs along the museum route, called OV-museumlijn 10. A day ticket costs 4,30 EUR and lets you travel as much as you want between 10 AM and 5 PM. Payment is by card only, or you can use your cash at the VVV Leiden which is visitor information next to the train station. The design intent for this barn-like structure was inspired by farms in the surrounding area. We designed a modern interpretation of a barn space to create a one-story office with a comfortable, residential atmosphere. The building consists of two different typologies - the main spaces, with pitched roofs, welcome you with brick walls lined with coal-black wooden slats that open up the building to the inner garden and its surroundings. The three different elements of this typology are connected by brick ‘boxes’ with flat roofs – the second typology. . The Fitness Center and Spa are located in a separate building creating a fourth entity that encloses a perfectly symmetrical patio with a tranquil water feature that provides significant privacy. Extending from the water feature, a protruding window provides a glimpse into the gym and showcases the wonderful views at the front of the building. The shape of the building and its large windows provide panoramic views over the surrounding golf course. In contrast to these large windows, the windows looking out towards the patio are intended to create more intimacy. . The materials for the interior have been implemented with great attention to consistency, using an abundance of natural stone. This shopping mall to the south of Utrecht has 150 retail stores (including C&A, Esprit, Intertoys, Mexx, Media Markt, s. Oliver), services (banks, optician, hair salons, travel agency), eateries, food stores and entertainment venue (Theater De Kom). It is open 7 days a week (late on Thursday) and can be reached by Bus and Tram. This mall is highly recommend to everybody, from locals to tourists! Haarlem is worth a visit.

Haarlem is located 20 km west of Amsterdam. It is one of the most populous cities in Europe and one of the oldest small cities in the Netherlands. It has been known for its tulips for centuries and is known as the "City of Flowers." Although it is not as bustling as Amsterdam, the Spaarne River flows slowly through Haarlem, bringing vitality to the city. 💜 We set off from Utrecht to Zaanse Schans Windmill Village and stopped here on the way. It was worth it! The Adriaan Windmill, Haarlem City Gate, and St. Bavo's Church are all must-sees, but I would like to recommend a building called Koepelgevangenis, not far from the Adriaan Windmill. It was originally a prison designed by Johan Metzelaar. It closed in 2016 and has now been transformed into a commercial building for both office and leisure use. Some of the original prison cells and building structures have been preserved for visitors to see. It's very interesting. 💥 We were lucky enough to meet a Chinese professor who was teaching here.
