Visiting the pyramids 🏛️
#closetonature
Visiting the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt was an absolute bucket-list experience! Standing in front of these ancient wonders, especially the Great Pyramid, left me in awe. The entrance fee to the Giza Plateau is about 240 EGP (around $8), and if you want to enter the Great Pyramid itself, it’s an additional 400 EGP. The sheer scale of these monuments is mind-blowing, and seeing the Sphinx up close added even more magic to the day.
The best part was exploring the desert surroundings on a camel ride, with the pyramids towering in the background—it felt like stepping back in time. Afterward, I visited the nearby Solar Boat Museum, which gave me an even deeper understanding of Egypt’s incredible history. This is one of those places you have to see to believe! 🏜️🐪🏛️

True Wonder of the World
I can’t get enough of Egypt.
As a solo traveller, my main obstacle is language barriers. However, this does not stopping me to explore one of the magical ( human made) structure which is Pyramid of Giza.
During my visit, it was not too crowded at the ticket counter and within 10 mins, I’m already enter the site.
Please be extra careful with the scammer when they told you they’re authorized agent for pyramid tour, they always show you their name tag/ lanyard. The best thing is to ignore them.
Take your time while you on site, since there is no time limit for visitor. And please bring enough water since the pyramid area is so huge!

Egypt: A Land of Historical and Geographical Wonders
#100waysoftravel
Egypt, a land full of mystery and wonders, attracts countless explorers and tourists with its ancient history and unique geography. The Sphinx and the pyramids in Giza are the greatest symbols of Egyptian civilization. The majestic and enigmatic Sphinx guards the pharaohs' tombs, gazing over this ancient land for millennia. The pyramids, as one of the wonders of the ancient world, showcase the wisdom and engineering prowess of the ancient Egyptians, still leaving people in awe today.
Beyond these awe-inspiring historical monuments, Egypt's geographical landscape is equally captivating. The coastlines of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea not only offer beautiful beaches and abundant marine resources but also serve as crucial shipping routes. The diverse marine life here makes Egypt a paradise for diving enthusiasts.
Additionally, Egypt's temples, such as the Luxor and Karnak temples, beautifully blend ancient religion with architectural artistry, showcasing the ancient Egyptians' reverence and worship of their gods. Walking among these ancient ruins feels like a journey through time, experiencing the glory and mystery of thousands of years ago.

Of course, this is Egypt's main attraction, and it will always be crowded.

Crowds gather quickly, especially after tour buses arrive around 9:00.

Just returned from Egypt and I want to share some heartfelt words with everyone....
👉【About Visa】👈
Egypt currently offers visa on arrival for $25 per person, cash only. Make sure to prepare in advance as they do not accept credit cards. If you really don't have cash, there are two banks next to the visa counter where you can exchange money.
▪️
👉【About Travel Methods】👈
If it's a girl's first time visiting, it's best not to choose a self-guided tour. Although Egypt is generally safe, it's still easy to encounter scammers, and the chances of being overcharged for food, clothing, and other necessities are high. Moreover, Cairo and Luxor have many cultural and historical sites, and without a guide, you miss out on a lot of fun. It's recommended to choose a qualified travel agency for a group tour. If you feel that group tours are not free enough and the budget is higher, you can opt for a private tour.
▪️
👉【About Sun Protection】👈
Make sure to do a good job with sun protection! Physical sun protection is best, but chemical sun protection is also necessary! Once you get there, you'll understand that the temperature is really high and the sun is really strong. If you're not careful, you'll get several shades darker (don't ask me how I know, sob sob...)

Egypt really has a lot of stamina
An 8-day itinerary and still not enough, friends who want to go to Egypt can take this as a reference~
Let me briefly introduce our itinerary, if you are interested I can post more details later~🤓
D1✈️Arrive in Cairo
D2 Cairo🚗Siwa
D3 Siwa🚗Cairo✈️Hurghada
D4 Red Sea outing
D5 Hurghada🚗Luxor
D6 Hot air balloon➕East and West Bank attractions
D7 Luxor🚗Aswan
D8 Aswan✈️Cairo✈️Return home
On our first day in Cairo, we visited the Giza Pyramid Complex and the Egyptian Museum. Due to Ramadan, the traffic was super congested in the afternoon, so we didn't go to the Khalili market, and directly hired a car to Siwa·Qesm Siwah
The second day we went to the Siwa Salt Lake🌊, it was so beautiful, and there were hot springs♨️ and the fortress from Assassin's Creed🏰. If you want to go to the desert, you can reserve an extra day, or you can first go to Alexandria City - Matrouh then to Siwa, playing all the way down, which is also a good choice😌
After the car ride back to Cairo from Siwa, we went straight to the airport to fly to Hurghada·Red Sea Governorate. We joined a day tour to El Gouna and a boat trip to Orange Bay🚢, and you can also enjoy sand surfing🏜️. We were in a hurry to get to Luxor so we didn't play~
Hurghada car ride to Luxor·Luxor Governorate takes 3 hours, we went for Chinese food, the next day we enjoyed the hot air balloon➕attractions on the West Bank of Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Habu City. Surprisingly, we almost finished in half a day, and in the afternoon we went to Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple by ourselves.
Luxor is also a 3-hour car ride to Aswan·Aswan Governorate, immediately went to Aswan Dam and Philae Temple, then checked into the hotel and immediately took a taxi to ride a felucca⛵️ to see the sparkling sunset over the Nile🌄
Finally, we flew directly back to Cairo from Aswan, the biggest regret is that we didn't have time to see the Temple of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel😭
So, till next time!👋

When traveling to Egypt, be sure to act with a cool indifference
🇪🇬 Egypt, a land filled with mystery. Once you immerse yourself in it and lift its veil of secrecy, what awaits you are the stunning pyramids and an astonishing experience...
📝 From the moment you enter Egypt, you will be battling against various scammers, price gougers, harassers, and even extortionists.
Before going to Egypt, I saw many people suggesting to prepare small stationery items or cooling oil to give to the service providers there, as they would appreciate it. However, in reality, they don't care!!! Whether it's the driver who takes you around, the 'enthusiastic' tourists who offer to take photos, or even the locals who strike up a conversation with you on the street, all they ever say is 'money! money! dollar! dollar!'
Be extra vigilant when visiting the pyramids.
🎫 Tickets:
Adults 540 Egyptian pounds, students half price. If you want to enter inside the pyramids, it's an additional +900 Egyptian pounds. But there's really no need to go inside; the most impressive aspect of the pyramids is their exterior.
⏰ Time:
Expect to spend about 3-4 hours touring. It's cooler in the morning, and the sunset in the evening is beautiful.
🧭 Route:
North Gate - Great Pyramid of Khufu - Pyramid of Khafre - Pyramid of Menkaure - Great Sphinx - East Gate exit.
🚗 Transportation:
You can use Uber, but often the drivers will ask for more money. The international version of Didi is also available and slightly cheaper.
⚠️ Caution:
1⃣️ When you're close to the scenic area, many people will try to stop your car; don't pay attention to them.
2⃣️ Inside the scenic area, many people will 'enthusiastically' offer to take photos for you; they're not kind-hearted, they want money after taking the photo. Ignore them.
3⃣️ People will approach you to 'explain' things, and after a few words, they'll ask for money. Ignore them.
4⃣️ Camel and horse carriage drivers in the area will come over to solicit rides; if you want to ride, agree on a price first; if not, ignore them.
5⃣️ Never show your wealth when paying, as there really are people who will snatch it away.
6⃣️ Don't go inside the pyramids; it's stuffy, smelly, and extremely uncomfortable.
In short, at the pyramids and other tourist spots in Egypt, act with cool indifference, and you'll avoid a lot of trouble!

Once in a lifetime experience. If you love history and are curious to see what our previous civilizations achieved then this is it as it mind boggling and Magnificent both at the same time. you really have to negotiate with the tourist guides or they may charge you more by enticing you to go further even if you settled for just one or two excursions within the pyramids
Agree with everything that has already been said. The last wonder of the ancient world, sureal. We arrived at about 11.30 am and it was not overcrowded. We had already hired a guide but there are guides on site to hire too. We didn't go inside, but to see them and soak up the atmosphere was more than enough. Took a camel ride, and the photographer took some really great photos. Then we went to the sphinx. It's definitely a bucket list not to be missed.
We visited the Great Pyramid of Kohfu yesterday as part of a tour and it was amazing once in a lifetime experience you'll get to enjoy. It's part of the Giza Necropolis and the last wonder of the ancient world and should be on your bucket list!
We arrived at the entry by the great pyramid at 8.30 and it was not very crowded. Entry to tombs of the Pyramid costs extra 1800 Egyptian dollars but recommended if you're not claustrophobic and have good knees as you need to crawl and duck in a few sections.
The place gets busy after 10 so the earliest you can go in, it will be easier to experience. You can photograph inside but might have to tip the people who take them for you. Overall highly recommended!

6 things you must know before going to the pyramid, a guide to avoid pitfalls
How not to be cheated when playing at the pyramid?
1. The address to buy tickets is "El Ahram Police Station", you can't go wrong with taxi apps like Uber or didi, you can always pay attention to your geographical location on Google Maps, and get off when you arrive at the ticket sales point.
2. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket office by card. 540 pounds, you can ask locals to help you buy tickets by card for 600 pounds, which is cheaper.
3. From the moment you enter the scenic area, there will be countless people watching you, waving or greeting you, no matter what they say, they basically want to cheat money from your pocket. The simplest way is to ignore them, and you won't be cheated if you don't pay attention to anyone.
4. The shooting point of the six pyramids is navigated to "Panoramic view", during which you will pass the toilet of the scenic area, which charges 10 pounds per person and will give you a small ticket. It takes a long time, a long time, to walk from the gate of the scenic area on the side of the Khufu pyramid to the shooting point of the six towers, especially when you see the pyramid for the first time, you will keep stopping to take pictures, this process probably takes more than 2 hours.
5. After taking a panoramic view, you can follow the order: Menkara-Hafla-Khufu Pyramid-Sphinx-East Gate out, to visit the Giza Pyramid Group, this process is also estimated to be two hours.
6. If you take a horse-drawn carriage from the panoramic view to the Sphinx, it is recommended to bargain for 200 pounds and no higher. After arriving at the destination, give a tip according to the situation. If there are similar staff members asking you for carriage fees on the way, ignore him, and give the money to the coachman after getting off the horse at the destination.

More eternal than time is the pyramid
I'm so excited to finally come to the pyramid! The weather in December couldn't be more suitable. Wearing a thin coat during the day to protect from the sun won't make you hot. I was worried about stepping into a pit when I read the guide before. It said that many Egyptians want tips, but actually as long as you ignore their 1💲, it's okay. The pyramid ticket includes three pyramids and the Sphinx. But the photo check-in points are a bit far apart, it's best to go by car. The point of riding a camel is at the highest point. You can see all three pyramids at the same time

⚰️Before coming, I read many posts saying not to enter the pyramid, but since I'm here, I still want to go in once, see picture 13 for the entrance
🔺Three points in the scenic area, the Pyramid of Khufu~Camel riding platform~Sphinx, the travel agency car can enter the scenic area and deliver to each point.
📷Recommended photo spots:
1⃣️Pyramid of Khufu: Don't take a photo directly in front when you enter, the photos are all people, the best position can be taken from the opposite side of the road on the right side of the pyramid, see picture 2⃣️
2⃣️Pyramid panorama: Don't go to the camel riding platform, it's too far and not good looking, the best position is behind the desert of the Menkaure Pyramid (the smallest of the three), see pictures 3⃣️4⃣️5⃣️
3⃣️Sphinx: Front view, can take the Sphinx➕Pyramid at the same time, the best position on Ins, see picture 1⃣️
👗Dress guide:
1⃣️Avoid tube tops, two-piece, and midriff-baring clothes🈲️🙅🏽♀️
2⃣️Avoid taking photos in front of staff, crowded places, put on your coat immediately after taking photos
🐫Camel riding:
Because we only rode from the Menkaure Pyramid to the desert photo spot and back, borrowed a 🐫 prop for posing, the guide helped us negotiate for 100EGP, later we took too long and gave the 🐫 brother 150EGP
⚠️Precautions⚠️:
Don't pay attention to anyone, pretend not to hear👂, enter the pyramid to check the 🎫regularly, there is a machine to scan the code, ignore other people, such as various people who want to take pictures for you👳🏽♂️, the guide also reminded us again, we did not encounter people who claimed to check tickets, grab tickets.

The second biggest Pyramid
The Pyramid of Khafre is the second-largest pyramid in the Giza Plateau, located to the southwest of the older Pyramid of Khufu.
It was built by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Khafre, the son of Khufu around 2570 BC.
The pyramid has a base length of 215.5 m and rises up to a height of 136.4 m.
It is made of limestone blocks weighing more than 2 tons each.
The slope of the pyramid rises at a 53° 13’ angle, steeper than its neighbor, the pyramid of Khufu, which has an angle of 51°50’24".
The pyramid is unique for retaining a section of its original white outer casing stones at the very top.
The pyramid was first explored in modern times by Giovanni Belzoni on March 2, 1818, when the original entrance was found on the north side.

Egypt is six hours ahead of China. After a 12-hour flight, the plane landed at Cairo airport. Just after landing, we rushed to the highlight of our Egypt trip today - the "Khufu Pyramid", located 16 kilometers south of Cairo. It is undoubtedly the tallest and largest building in the world. The three pyramids seen on site have stood on the Giza plateau for more than 4,500 years. They were built by three generations of Pharaoh Khufu's family in the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt, and are commonly known as the "Father, Son, and Grandson Pyramids".
The Great Pyramid of Giza is 146 meters high and is made up of approximately 2.3 million stone blocks. The outer layer consists of around 115,000 blocks, each weighing an average of 2.5 tons, about the size of a small car. It took approximately 30 years to build the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is currently the top of the list of the Seven Wonders of the World and the only one that remains.

The Great Pyramid of Giza
I had a chance to visit the Great Pyramid of Giza early of the month. It was winter in Egypt and the weather is pleasant with sunshine. Lite jacket will do. We booked a Hotel just across the Pyramid complex with a magnificent roof top view of the Pyramids. The entrance fee as of Jan 2023 is 240EGP. We spent about half days exploring the Pyramid and the complex. It was a once in a lifetime of experience. #awesomepic

THE GIZA PYRAMIDS 🇪🇬😍😍😍
#giza #pyramids #hotel #cairo
The complex is located on the edge of the Western Desert, about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) west of the Nile River in the city of Giza, and about 13 kilometers (8 miles) southwest of downtown Cairo. The site (along with the neighboring city of Memphis) was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.
The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Khafre are among the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt, and they were historically popular as symbols of ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. They became famous in Hellenistic times, when the Great Pyramid was included by the Greek poet Antipater as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. They are by far the oldest and only surviving ancient wonders of the world.
And the pyramids, according to one of the hypotheses, are royal tombs, each of which bears the name of the king who built it and was buried in it. Then it developed to take the form of a step pyramid by the engineer Imhotep, the minister of the pharaoh and King Djoser in the Third Dynasty. This was followed by two attempts by King Senefru, founder of the Fourth Dynasty, to build a complete hierarchical form. However, the backs of the two pyramids are not correct in shape, and they are located in Dahshur. One of them has a flattened base, and the other has a smaller shape, about half the size of the first. The engineer, Hemayuno, the architect of King Khufu, was able to achieve the ideal pyramidal shape, and he built the pyramid of Khufu in Giza on an area of 13 acres, and the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure followed.

This place you should visit. It is so beautiful and fantastic. The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt mark a glorious time in human civilization. Located in the Giza Necropolis, just outside the city of Cairo, they were built by three Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt some 4500 years ago. Regarded as an architectural marvel, the Pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In 1979, they were also made a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The largest and most famous of all the pyramids, the Great Pyramid at Giza, was built by Snefru's son, Khufu, known also as Cheops, the later Greek form of his name. The pyramid's base covered over 13 acres and its sides rose at an angle of 51 degrees 52 minutes and were over 755 feet long.
Plan your trip to this magnificent Pyramids. A must place to visit before you die people! God willing. ✨

Ancient Wonder of the world

In person, it’s astounding when you look at the size and symmetry of the pyramids. And to think - they made such a wondrous structure so many years ago. The reality is: standing next to the Pyramids makes me feel meek and small.
There are three pyramids in the Giza Pyramid complex, built by three pharaohs, each pyramid smaller than the other. The biggest is the Great Pyramid of Giza, aka the Pyramid of Khufu, the slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre, and the relatively modest-sized Pyramid of Menkaure.
Seeing the inside of the pyramid was on the top of my bucket list in Egypt.
Going inside the pyramid felt like I was traveling back in time. The excitement and anticipation were really getting to me. I felt like an explorer going into the darkness to uncover the pyramid’s secrets.
You have to go through small passages and tunnels to go inside the pyramid. While you’re in these passageways, you can see the sun shining through the cracks on the inside of the pyramid. It honestly feels dreamlike.

Camel riding in Giza Pyramid complex
Going to see the pyramids might be the most cliche thing you could do while you’re in Egypt but it’s definitely worth it.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and the only remain standing of the traditional seven wonders of the world and once you set foot in the complex then you would understand why is it such a wonder and hopelessly surrender to the marvel architecture and astounding view.
Take the chance to fully immerse into the dune experience by trying out on the many camel rides offered inside the complex, have a chat with the friendly locals, enjoy great food and have loads of fun while you’re at it.
