Brunei Darussalam 'The Abode of Peace' 🇧🇳 Introducing the three places we visited this time: 'Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque' (commonly known as the New Mosque 🕌) 'Istana Nurul Iman' (the palace where the king resides 👑) 'Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque' (commonly known as the Old Mosque 🕌) They say there's hardly any tax?! Blessed with natural resources like oil and natural gas, it's also known as a wealthy country!!! The atmosphere of the city during the day and at night is quite different, and it's a country where you can spend a leisurely time forgetting about the time.

#cafestory This is a nice cafe. They have a sister branch called Alter Ego in Kiulap. Cozy and quiet place, perfect for breakfast on weekdays. The menu was quite appetite zing with some brunch options, sandwiches and deserts. I just had a fantastic meal with my friends this morning. The Cajun Chicken Pumpkin Waffles from the Brunch Set was flavourful and quality ingredients were used. I will be returning with my family very soon. Highly recommended!

#summerdestinations This is also my unforgettable moment summer trip in Brunei. Bandar Seri Begawan has its own uniqueness in terms of surprising the tourist. First thing you will be surprised is in fact they almost have NO public transport in the city. Everyone has their own cat to o around the city. This one that makes me frustrated as a tourist 😆 what a thrill hahaha Secondly, you can absolutely use Singapore Dollars as well for any transaction in the country as they have signed a memorandum for both country to use SGD currency in the country that is legal. #hiddengems Good quality Japanese restaurant which has better than average quality ingredients. The environment was well lit, spacious and overall very pleasant. Service was good and this is also an establishment that uses QR code menus. We tried their set lunches and they were yummy.Excellent service, reasonably priced, perfectly located at Batu Bersurat.

The food selection is not too bad – you have choices of western and Asian dishes. Lovely ambience, love their lunch set! Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque is a mosque in Kampong Kiarong of Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. It is named after Hassanal Bolkiah, the 29th and current Sultan of Brunei. It is one of the two state mosques, the other Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque was established on 14 July 1994 and it is the largest mosque in the country and can accommodate 5,000 worshippers at a time. #myfoodies Mr Baker’s Bakeshop offers a more western style menu. All the food we ordered was delicious and presented nicely. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere with good jazzy/ swing music, mediocre interior and good seating arrangement. Delicious breakfast of ham with cheese, scrabble egg, croissant and salad. Nice little cafe with a relaxed and quiet vibe. Menu includes pizzas and pastas. Food choices* Unique, sourdough pizza, duck menu, cheese menu, coffee choice. Decent coffee and friendly staff. They deliver authentic Korea cuisine in Brunei Darussalam. All of their food and drinks are halal, suitable for muslim or non muslims. Their Korean food quality is good and very delicious. I like their side dishes, which serve fresh and can be refilled. Gimbab, the Korean rice roll is one of the top dish that I like. Moreover, their dumpling soup with original soup also very delicious. The drink that I like the most is the Sik Hye. Their service is good and the environment is cozy and comfortable for friends and family gathering. My favorite breakfast places in town is Yang Seng Restaurant & Catering as one of the best roast duck and pork belly in town. The roasted pork belly is good with crispy and crunchy pork skin. You need to go early morning for their popular roasted duck kolo mee or rice because usually run out before early noon. Their "yee-wat" soup or "handmade fish cake soup" is one of their signature dish. It’s worth to try it. I highly recommended this restaurant. A nice cafe with their hearty menu features an array of Western delights with an Eastern influence. Head over here if you are looking for nice brunch cafe! We always enjoy their delicious desserts, mains and drinks. The food is wholesome, good sized meals and yummy. Their Mango Cheesecake is one of the best in town. Good ambience and table setting is basic with comfortable seating. They have indoor & outdoor seatings. You can see river and boats passing by through the windows if you are seating indoor. The cafe is situated opposite to Supa Save One Riverside branch, Brunei’s premier supermarket. I would suggest you calling in for reservation.

Their signature dish is Club Sandwich, sandwiches with roated chicken slices, chicken crackling, tomatoes, cucumber slices, sriracha mayo, toasted sesame seeds, and served with chips. The dish the I like the most is the Roasted Sesame Chicken Burger. The burger filled with juicy fried chicken fillet and served with lettuce and a sesame sauce dressing. The ambience is comfy and good for 3 to 4 friends gathering.

📍Brunei Gadong Night Market is the largest and most famous night market in Brunei. What kind of atmosphere is it? What kind of food is it? We will introduce you to them. [Access] It is conveniently located about 10 minutes by car from the city center, and can be accessed on foot from the Gadong area where there are many hotels. [Opening hours] The shops start opening around 4pm and are sold out around 9pm, so it is very lively with not only tourists but also locals. #0yentravel Brunei Darussalam is a small kingdom with a direct flight from Tokyo. The largest night market in the country is here, Gadong Night Market. It is quite large and you will never get bored. There are a wide variety of gourmet foods and fruits that are not often seen in Japan, and it is a place where you can feel Southeast Asia. There are many local people, and some people were eating with their families, and some people were buying ingredients for home. I walked around the mosque slowly and admired the exterior in detail, and the garden and fountain were well-kept, so I could feel a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Although I couldn't go inside because the entrance of tourists was restricted, it was a place where I could admire the beauty just by looking at it from the outside. I took many pictures and spent my time leisurely!! ✅️ | Kampong Ayer🏘 After leaving the mosque and crossing the Brunei River by boat, we arrived at Kampong Ayer, also known as the ‘Venice of the East’. The long row of floating houses built on the water was truly unique. Since it was a village where people actually lived, it was interesting that the school, mosque, and shops were all built in the form of floating houses. While touring the village with a local guide, I was able to see how the traditional lifestyle of the Brunei people and modern elements coexisted, and it was also impressive to see children moving around on boats~ ✅️ | Walking around downtown Brunei🏛 After returning from Kampong Ayer, I walked around downtown Brunei. The capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan was impressively quiet and clean. There were almost no high-rise buildings, and most of the buildings were low-rise and stable. There were fewer people than cars on the streets, so I was able to walk leisurely, and I also took a break at a local restaurant or cafe. There weren't many tourists, so it felt more special, and I could feel the kindness of the Brunei people firsthand. ✅️ | Royal Regalia Museum 🏠 In the afternoon, I visited the Royal Museum, where I could see the grandeur of the Brunei royal family. Admission was free, and the interior was larger than I thought and the exhibits were well organized. Items used in the king's coronation, costumes, crowns, and gold-decorated procession tools were on display, and information about Brunei's politics and history was also organized in an easy-to-understand manner. In particular, after seeing the king's throne and clothes decorated with gold and jewels, I could really feel how wealthy this country is. ✅️ | Gadong Night Market 🎡 Lastly, I stopped by the Gadong Market in the evening. Brunei, which was quiet during the day, looked completely different at this market. The smell of various local foods, the lively voices of people, and the colorful food on display were really interesting. Although I didn't eat the food myself, just walking around the market and observing the local food culture was a fun and vivid experience. The exotic ingredients and cooking methods were amazing, and I thought I definitely want to try it again someday!!😆 Like this, I was able to have a leisurely and enriching trip while slowly looking around the key places in Brunei in one day.
