Sydney Trip | Car-Free 5 Days 4 Nights In-Depth Travel Guide
| Car-Free 5 Days 4 Nights In-Depth Travel Guide.🎈Just returned from Australia, without renting a car, I relied on trains, buses, and walking to explore many amazing places. With the upcoming National Day holiday, I quickly organized a 5-day 4-night travel guide for friends planning to visit Sydney.💖
✅Day1: Sydney City
Wake up naturally and enjoy an Aussie brunch. Then take a stroll in Hyde Park, visit St. Mary's Cathedral and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Have a coffee at Circular Quay, relax and enjoy the sea breeze. Climb up to the Observatory before 4:00 PM to quietly wait for Sydney's stunning sunset.🌇
✅Day2: Sydney Suburbs
In the morning, head to the University of Sydney to explore the Harry Potter building. In the afternoon, go to Bondi Beach, and in the evening, pick a big Australian lobster at the fish market. Whether sashimi or stir-fried with ginger and scallions, it's super delicious. The oysters and salmon here are also definitely worth trying.🦞
✅Day3: Sydney Surroundings
Take a train to Bowral town, enjoy a delicious lunch at The Press Shop, and browse the antique market Dirty Janes to feel the unique charm and tranquility of the town.🎐
✅Day4: Whale Watching
Every year from July to October is whale watching season, departing from Port Stephens. If you easily get seasick, be sure to take seasickness medicine in advance. The boat rocks a lot and it's windy, so remember to wear enough clothes.🐋
✅Day5: Zoo
Taronga Zoo is simply the best in my heart! It takes about 2-3 hours to tour the park, with many animal species. Taronga offers a great view of the Sydney Opera House, and the background of the giraffes is Sydney Harbour, making every photo a postcard.🦒

Move into Sydney's most beautiful zoo~
Taronga Zoo Sydney, with a history of over a hundred years, is located on the hills north of Sydney Harbour, offering a panoramic view of the entire Sydney cityscape. In recent years, various photos of giraffes with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge have been continuously popular online, attracting many people to come and check in.
Not only is this a home for animals, but visitors can also stay at the zoo's resort (Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo Sydney). The rooms in the retreat may not be very large, but each one has a large floor-to-ceiling window with an exclusive jungle garden view for the guests, where kangaroos, koalas, and anteaters live freely. If you're lucky enough, you might wake up to see a lazy koala stretching on the tree in front of your window.
Staying at the retreat comes with many pleasant surprises:
You can enter the zoo one hour earlier, with a dedicated guide leading you to explore before the crowds arrive.
You can stroll through the exclusive private jungle garden with the company of staff, listening to the history of the zoo and stories of the animals.
You can relax and soak up the sun in the lobby bar, with iconic buildings such as the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Tower all in view.
You can enjoy a special dinner and fine wines at the retreat's Me-Gal restaurant, which also always offers a top-notch city view, and if you encounter a stunning sunset, it becomes a romantic and fairy-tale journey.
Last visited 28 December 2022 so thought I'd share a review on here. Fabulous zoo!! Far better than any zoo's in NZ. Cost is only NZ$50 (or about AU$44) and that included the gondola. Return ferry to Circular Quay - public transport is dirt cheap (Opal) compared with NZ. Bird and Seal Show is wonderful. Though the seal show line is super long, we still managed to get a seat for the first time at the front. It'll be great if this zoo could order heaps of size L t-shirts for men and a variety especially for the summer holidays. Good thing we visited before they closed the gondola for renovations. Weather was beautiful. A day trip well worth it. We'll be back in Syd end of this year (late December) for a solid 2 weeks. With plans to visit the Gold Coast for the 1st time, end of next year (end of 2024)... AL from New Zealand.#familytravel #mytripvlog
The city most resembling "New York" in the Southern Hemisphere | Sydney Travel Guide
Sydney is located on the southeast coast of Australia and is the capital of New South Wales.
📸🔜Sydney is known as the "New York" of the southern hemisphere and has been named one of the most livable cities in the world by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme for many years in a row.
🤺Sydney is still a host city for many important international sports events, having hosted 🏏the 1938 British Empire Games, 🏄♂️the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and 🏈the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
✅🔜[Sydney Opera House]
🔜The Sydney Opera House is one of the most distinctive buildings in the world in the 20th century. Its unique shell sailboat shape makes it a landmark building in Australia and a world-famous performing arts center.
✅🔜Sydney Harbour Bridge
🔜🚏The Sydney Harbour Bridge is an iconic building in Sydney, Australia and one of the country's most famous landmarks.
🌉It spans over Sydney Harbour, connecting the city center and the northern suburbs, with a total length of 1,149 meters and a height of 134 meters. It is one of the largest steel arch bridges in the world!
✅🔜[Sydney Harbour]
🔜🔺Taking a boat in Sydney Harbour is the best viewpoint to appreciate Sydney. 🚣♀️Although riding a cruise ship is not as comfortable as boating on a lake, watching the busy ships on both sides of Sydney Harbour, 🌃the beautiful city scenery on both sides, and the famous landmarks of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge floating in front of you, you will find another kind of pleasure called beautiful scenery around you.
Balmoral Beach
Balmoral Beach is one of Sydney's best beach choices for relaxation. It provides everything you would want to forget about tumultuous city life, allowing you to de-stress and enjoy effortlessly.
The turquoise water at Balmoral Beach is transparent and calm, the sand is super soft and golden and the vibe is 'chilled with just a little bit of energy'. Balmoral features two beaches, Balmoral Beach and Edward Beach.
They're divided by Rocky Point Island; a pedestrian bridge separates the two sides which leads people out to the peninsula.

Beautiful Animals in Taronga Zoo!
The animals in the zoo are all well taken care of. Even the park is clean with complete signs, restrooms, benches and gates.
The lions, tigers, elephant, giraffe were beautiful. But my favorites are kangaroo, koala and the cute little penguins swimming around nonstop.
The zoo is not only for kids but for adults as well!
They have also made stunning views of the Sydney skyline. We went there on a weekend so the sailboats are all out.
Love Sydney! We’ll be back next time with the kids for sure? #tarongazoo #sydneytrip #sydney

🐨 Must-see animals
The 🦒giraffes, 🐅big tigers, 🐨koalas, 🦁lions and 🦘kangaroos, etc. here are all wonderful things you can’t miss. They may be beautiful, strong, or cute, and each one has its own unique charm.
💡 Small tips:
1. Sun protection is essential: The sun in Sydney is very fierce, so be sure to bring a 👒 hat, 🕶sunglasses and sunscreen.
2. Choose good weather🌞: A sunny weather will make your photos more stunning!
3. Prepare in advance: Use your mobile phone to check the 🗺 map and performance times, but don’t forget that the signal may not be very good in some places in the park, so it is best to get a paper map at the door in case you need it.
Sleeping Among the Animals: An Unforgettable Stay at Taronga Zoo’s Wildlife Retreat
My stay at the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga was absolutely unforgettable! We booked an Animal View room, and it was surreal to see a koala right outside our window, casually walking around on the ground just a few feet away. Being so close to the wildlife in their natural behaviors was a truly unique experience. We also had the chance to explore the zoo after hours, taking a guided walk as the sun set and witnessing the zoo’s nighttime activities when the lights went out. It was fascinating to see how different the zoo is after dark! In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast at the on-site restaurant, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch, making the experience even more special. I would highly recommend the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga to anyone looking for a unique and immersive wildlife experience. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind stay! #sydneyzoo #sydneystay
The Most Gorgeous Zoo I’ve Ever Visited
#summerdestinations on our third day in Sydney, we took the ferry from circular quay across the bay to Taronga zoo. The first thing I’ll say is that the view from the ferry is spectacular. You get to see the whole harbor with the harbor bridge the Sydney, opera house and the skyline behind it, great spot for a photo op such a beautiful place! from the ferry stop you take the bus up to the top of the hill where the zoo entrance is. You can enter from the bottom, but if you start at the top, you’re walking downhill through the animal exhibits the whole time. It’s perfect! The zoo is fantastic. They have an amazing conservation project and the animals are so well taken care of. we noticed a few sick animals, but the zookeeper explained to us that they rehabilitate, injured and sick wildlife, and then release them back into the wild. Such a cool program! They had an incredible diversity of animals from all over the world, but their collection of Australian animals was my favorite! You could walk through the section with the kangaroos and emus! So many cool animals such a great viewing experience, and absolutely amazing to see the work that the zoo is doing to care for endangered wildlife, and the environment of Australia! Definitely recommend visiting!#100waysoftravel #mytravelhacks #familytrip #Taronga #tarongazoo

What a view of an early morning down at Mosman Bay, after continued showers over three weekend.
Australia/Taronga Zoo Travel Guide
Taronga Zoo boasts an unbeatable seascape, overlooking the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The zoo here is an open-style zoo, where you can get up close and personal with the animals. The day we went, we even witnessed emus leisurely crossing the road right in front of us. The surrounding shops are also an unexpected highlight. The quality of the merchandise sold here is surprisingly good.

Must Do Taronga Zoo
#winhkflight
Taronga Zoo is a must do on a visit to Sydney. There is something for all ages to enjoy at the zoo. The short ferry trip from Circular Quay allows you fabulous views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. The zoo is very well maintained, and the animal shows ,talks, and encounters are both educational and engaging. The city skyline and views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are spectacular and a great opportunity for fabulous photos
Taronga zoo Sydney
We spent approximately 2 hours here, leisurely walking around and observing most, if not all, of the animals. The park is well-equipped with plenty of trees and seating areas, which was particularly appreciated given the 25-degree Celsius temperature and sunny weather.
Instead of taking the bus, we opted for the short 4-minute walk up the hill to the south entrance. Upon arrival, we found steps and escalators to the right for easy access.
The entrance fee is around AU$50, which may seem steep, but considering the vast array of attractions, it's justified. Families with children shouldn't miss the petting zoo, where they can interact with adorable alpacas and goats.#tarongazoo #Sydney #Australia
Taronga Zoo Sydney
#sydneytrip Had a great time. Excellent views of most of the animals. Lots of walking though, which wouldn't be a problem except the whole zoo is built onto a hillside, so it's best to make a plan to see all the animals you want so you don't have to climb up and down too often. Also the day we went was extremely hot (almost 40 degrees celcius) and there wasn't enough shaded viewing areas for a lot of the animal enclosures. Best to assign a whole day if you want to see all the animals (and spend a few minutes to view them), we only had about 4 hours so we only viewed the animals we really wanted. I recommend a keeper tour. We didn't go on one (not enough time) but we were at a few exhibits when the tour came and the keeper was interesting and informative and answered our questions as well. I recommend taking the public ferry from circular quay as they arrive very regularly, and also catching the bus from the ferry terminal to the top gate (it was only $1 per person when we went and saves you from hiking up the zoo from the bottom entrance). The first bus was crowded though, but it seemed like there were regular services.
Taronga Zoo Sydney
#sydneytrip
We had an amazing experience at this zoo in Sydney, which we consider the best ever. The variety of animals is impressive. The koala area is a must-see, and the well-designed layout offers different sections for animal viewing, along with beautiful skyline views of the city. It's highly recommended, especially for families with kids. We spent six hours exploring everything, including fantastic bird and seal shows, and the zoo also provides stunning views of Sydney Harbour. On-site parking is plentiful, and the spacious, modern animal enclosures are in excellent condition. A must-visit for anyone in Sydney for a few days.

Located in the famous affluent area of Mosman, built by the sea, it is an excellent place to appreciate the scenery of Sydney Harbour, and the best place in the park is the Giraffe Park.
