The Matsushima Fish Market place is not big, you can order on the 1st and 2nd floors, then take the food to the 2nd floor with seats to enjoy. The shops here are closed at around 3pm, so remember to come early if you want to eat seafood. High value for money 😊 This is a good place to eat oysters, many shops are selling oysters 😋, and the price is not expensive, like to eat oysters you do not miss 🤣, there are other seafood, sashimi rice bowl shop, ramen shop are, and here is also a specialty souvenir shop.

Matsushima is about a 30-minute drive from Sendai and is one of Japan's top three scenic spots. It's a popular tourist destination that can be easily visited on a day trip from Sendai, with various access methods available for enjoying the sights! Traveling to Matsushima by train is recommended! Trains depart from Sendai Station and provide easy access to Matsushima. However, the arrival station differs depending on the line: the Senseki Line arrives at Matsushima-Kaigan Station, while the Tohoku Main Line arrives at Matsushima Station. Matsushima Station is not directly in the tourist area, so further travel is required from there. Although the train ride is shorter compared to the Senseki Line, the total travel time may be longer, so please be aware of this.

Small little island with its charm. We strolled around the island and managed to take some really nice pictures. We went there from Sendai Station with a local train in about 40 min. It is a nice little town with an amazing view on the ocean and lots of tiny green islands with trees. For just 200 Yen you can go over the bridge on the Fukuurajima Island and wander around. It is very scenic and a nice getaway from the hectic of the big cities like Tokyo or Sendai.

Now, the nearest station to Matsushima Kaigan is JR Senseki Line Matsushima Kaigan Station or JR Tohoku Main Line Matsushima Station. From Matsushima Station, it takes 20 minutes to walk to Matsushima Kaigan, so if you are coming from Sendai, I think it would be best to use JR Senseki Line Matsushima Kaigan Station, which is closer to the coast.
